    This is by far my favorite shoe of all time. Ran my best marathon and 5k in this shoe. Have run in every version except the 25 and 26.

      I left and came back to the 25 and once I remembered what it was like to feel the road again, I waited to the last minute to retire them. Such a good looking shoe too!

      I'm going to run my first half marathon tomorrow.. I've bought these shoes for it. But when i tried them out, i was a bit disappointed because of the low stack. Maybe i will run in my saucony tryumph 19 in the end.

      I have run several marathons in my DS trainers or kayanos.

    Appreciate you doing this review. All of the new shoes with super soft foam just...really don't work for me at all. I feel a bit lost when it comes to finding shoes now! I ran in previous DS trainers before and liked them, so maybe it's time to get another pair.

    I'm a mild pronator and use the DS 26 as part of my shoe rotation. I was hoping these would make a good race shoe however they don't have the bounce I like for race pace. I prefer them for hill sessions and park runs because of knee lift you get with them being such a light shoe. They felt a touch on the narrow side to begin with but they're surprisingly comfortable even so.

    Are these good for track workouts and tempo days? Also would you know the weight in ounces for a men in a size 10 by any chance? Lastly how breathable & bouncy are they?
    I am considering this sneaker. Looking for something for track & tempo days, and something lower to the ground. I wish the price was less, so considering other options as well. Thnx

    So after getting injured after my fastest half in the endorphin Pro 3 almost a year ago, when I came back I found one of these at the outlet and used it for my fast days and tempo days. I had to re-embrace the responsiveness vs propulsion. This shoe literally made my feel better the next day vs. worse that I get in my Supershoes. My PTTD is now somewhat under control and though I still think I’d pick the endorphin pro 1&2 for tempo and pro 3, vaporfly, Alpha Fly for racing, this is my track day and fast day shoe, especially if my flat feet are hurting or my PTTD flares up. And I might even go back to the DS Trainer full time as a racer/speed day shoe once I retire all my super shoes. Since I hear ASICS is bringing it back…. Why is it not on your stability list anymore? Fastwitch is still great for track days and 5k (10k if you’re under 200lbs), but the DS Trainer IS still relevant for track to marathon for people susceptible to PTTD.

    I love the DS Trainer. Can you confirm if they are bringing out a DS Trainer 27? The 26 model seem hard to find.

      Almost impossible to find in the UK now. Still quite a few on the US ASICS outlet though. Luckily I have a friend who travels to the US every couple of weeks so he’s bringing me some back in May 😊

      Any idea for a similar replacement shoe?

    Didn’t know this shoe still existed though I’ve heard the name in the past while researching. I’m actually really interested in this. I’m using a Reebok RF London for this role. It was the 3rd shoe I’ve ever bought and due to the DoR blog review 👍 . However the fit just isn’t perfect for me and I’ve had to dissect the heel cups due to irritation.

    I really tried to make this work for my foot, really a great under-rated shoe in my opinion, based on your opinion! HOWEVER make sure these will work for your feet; I have a high volume midfoot and these did not fit me. I think they probably work for everyone else with a more typical foot shape.

      I wanted them for workouts - gym/tread hybrid. Now looking at Altra Rivera 2 or Saucony Kinvara 12/13.

    Interested to know how this compares to the Evoride series in your books?

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Important that the DS Trainer is a mild stability shoe with a minor trusstic post while the Evoride is a neutral, much more rockered shoe. Both are good options for training and workouts, but if you have medial stability needs, the DS trainer may be the better choice.

    I've been running in DS trainers for years and years. Now looking for a new pair, and ... nowhere to be seen. I guess someone thought they weren't relevant. Too bad. I wonder what the closest alternative is

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not really any light mild stability trainers now. The new Brooks Hyperion GTS this summer is closest, but guidance instead of posting. This is totally different drop and feel, but the Newton Motion+ is a really fun lower stack option.

    I still love this shoe although I am temporarily testing the Saucony Kinvara for this lightweight "do-it-all" segment. But look forward to getting a new pair this year. It's a great way to not get addicted to the cushion for speed and tempo workouts or when your body needs a break neutral trainers. It's tough to use for racing anymore now that the Endorphin PRO is stable enough (FOR ME) to race 5k-22miles. Still working on the last 4 miles. #bigbonedflatfootedrunner

      I have flat feet too! Found the 25s on sale on Asics website, but not sure how narrow are they going to be? In terms of ride I think they would resemble the Saucony Liberty 2 for me, but I could be wrong.

    • @ptlewis2000
      @ptlewis2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnny872 Just got another pair after getting injured racing too much in super shoes, including Endorphin Pro 3. I'm much slower coming back but the DS Trainer is handling the speed work while i'm healing, where as EVERY fast shoe on my shelf is making it worse. I might test the Endorphin Pro 1 and 2 and Zoom Fly 4's again when I get better, but for now in ASICS I trust to heal. 2000 daily, Kayano long, and DS Trainer speed/Tempo.

      @@ptlewis2000 I'm sorry to hear that. What sort of energy did super shoes inflict on you? How does the sizing/fit compare between the ds trainer 26 and endorphin pro 3? The endorphin fit my weed flat feet well in size 12, do I need to size up/down for ds trainers?
