Thank you for showing us the leading for the man using his own body weight. Most men don’t know how to lead and ending up hurting the ladies👍

Thank you so much for the video! I have been practicing this step for about a week now with my instructor and at socials (I’m a lead improver). I’ve been struggling to lead this step during socials and the farthest I have gone is shadow position -> bring hand from stomach to outwards -> try to bring it back to their shoulder. I have two questions.
    1. Almost no girl understands step turn transition into shadow position. I have tried it many times and even the most advanced followers seem lost when I wrap them and go the other way on 7-8 instead of continuing walking right. So I always use break forward to transition into shadow position (I find it way cooler than step turn anyways). Those who are advanced follow my lead but most end up spinning 360 degrees instead of stopping at 180 degrees. Ofc I don’t try again because I’m unable to find a discernible difference between me leading it incorrectly or me not blocking their stomach quickly enough to stop the rotation or them simply not knowing/being interested/comfortable doing shadow position, and I wanna be respectful during social dancing. But leaves me wondering what am I doing wrong if anything at all. Any tips greatly appreciated!
    2. With the followers who I’m able to successfully transition into shadow position, when I try to bring their arm over their shoulder to initiate the head roll, they always interpret it as a signal to turn. I am struggling with this step even with the most awesome followers I’ve come across on the dance floor. What can I do better to signal that they just need to let me move to their shoulder and that they don’t need to turn?
My headroll lead isn’t terrific either but I haven’t really been able to gauge how well I do that step because most of the times we exit the combo even before my hand gets to their shoulder lol.
Thank you so much for your time and sorry for the long comment.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment! 🤗
According the half turn it is very difficult to say why it doesn’t work if we can’t see it. It seems like you are thinking of all the important leading points. If the follower doesn’t know the movement it might be difficult to lead.
2 About the head roll make sure to rotate your hand upwards and bring the arm straight up so they don’t feel any impulse into any direction. Hopefully that helps! 🤗
