What a lovely melody! I always look forward to your Fretless Fridays. This always lifts my heart and makes me grateful to be able to hear music that I can connect to. :)
Happy Friday and thanks again for the calming songs. I be working this weekend but I like to listen to you play while pretending that I can sleep in tomorrow.
Well it's beautiful here in England with blue skies too, but a few clouds, and i suspect a good deal cooler than in California 🙂. Great song for fretless Friday, can't wait for the next 🙂🪕
The remnants of hurricane Helene made it to southern Appalachia, so I'm sitting here without power. Thank goodness for battery powered phones! You brightened up an otherwise dark day. Thanks Phoebe!
I haven’t checked in for a couple Fridays but this was a nice surprise. Any video with a fretless banjo and chickens is a good video in my book… but add a Tom Petty tune and it becomes a fantastic video. Perfect background for wildflowers.
Well, what a lovely end to the afternoon. I'm sitting in the car charging my phone because the hurricane has taken our power offline. You sound even better in a surround sound environment on a real stereo system! I usually only listen on my phone, but I'll have to change my ways!
Thanks for reminding my thorny mentality with that exponentially excellent tuneage, not to Frett my Friday away in Futility & don't let that pretty bush scratch you up...
Thank you, Phoebe, for the pleasant early Autumn serenade. I had to do a double take on Henny Penny going underneath the little red wagon. Dutiful Toto on duty making sure the bugs don't bug your musical self. Be Well.
Fretless Bougainvillea....if you poke holes where you want the openings on your pumpkin you can leave it out for your chickens who will do the rest Blessings and Shalom in Him
Love those slides, you're good at throwing them in there. By the way, how about pumpkin dude stop-motion? Not sure how... but fun visual, if you decide to create more :)
Very nice, Phoebe! I especially liked your variations in the chords and textures. Are you in Cali but originally from KY? If so, that's the opposite of the direction I've gone. Anyway, am glad I recently discovered your channel and I enjoy it a lot.
Phoebe - we missed your signature sign off … “Do not fret, it’s fretless Friday” … it’s a great comfort when u say it … p.s. is this the Tom Petty tune?
It's open-back, so it projects pretty well. She's demonstrated it quite a bit on previous videos, and shown the open back and how it projects more if it's not resting right against her.
I'm wondering if it's possible to make something in between fretless and frets, small frets are not going to do that but if I make a fretless I bet I can use a wood burner to mark the notes like revers frets and you would be able to both hit the perfect notes and still be able to hit in-between notes, so its fretless that over time could sound more intentionally off on notes and perfect on other notes. I think out loud, someone steel this idea lol
They make markers for many fretless instruments, like violin and upright bass, cello, etc. that are good for people learning. Once you know the positions well it's a matter of muscle memory to find the notes, and you no longer have to look at the fretboard very often.
Looks like you're fighting neck dive Tendencies always remember to clip your tuner off to reduce that...... I would try to rig up a strap so you have more proximal stability for distal Mobility. I like hanging my instruments. You want to feel like you're free to play it and not holding it up
Hello, sorry this comment is days away from when you posted this video. I just watched your video in which you tried the Star Wars cantina song on your banjo. That seemed fun. So I wonder if you ever sing as well as play a tune. I think a fun song could be "Hey Mr Spaceman" by the Byrds. I don't know if there are copyright problems involved, but it's a cute little song in a country / folk style. I hope you'll try it!
You really played that well. It had a lot of feeling. If a song stirs emotions, it's done its job. That song definitely did its job. Thanks.
Long live the bucket 🪑💕😃The proper farmers seat lol. Thank you Ms Phoebe for yet another joyful friday!
💯
That was a neat shot of the not quite parallel black of the overhead wires against the strong blue of the sky.
It's so nice that your chickens and doggies seem to get along well with one another.
So peaceful
I do enjoy Phoebe Phriday!
you make me so happy
Nothing wrong with saying it again good to hear you play again
Thank you, Phoebe. Have a great day.
Nice hat! It's raining here in Kentucky today but that's OK. We need it. So we're not fretting. 😊
Here, in Costa Rica it´s also raining - at least in the night... So I´m enjoying this fretless Banjo quickly
it was super, ty blessings always.
Oh, how I *LOVE* Fretless Fridays. Thank you Phoebe 🧡
Hermoso Phoebe. Hermoso día, gallinas, perrito, ja!!! Un soplo de aire fresco 🪕🎶🌷
Last video: This bucket is too big for pumpkin man, but it might make a good seat.
This video: Using bucket as a seat.
Gotta love the continuity. 😄
What a lovely melody! I always look forward to your Fretless Fridays. This always lifts my heart and makes me grateful to be able to hear music that I can connect to. :)
Bouganvilla! look out for the thorns!
Great dose, Doc! Just what I needed after a long weekend! ❤❤❤❤❤

Happy Friday and thanks again for the calming songs. I be working this weekend but I like to listen to you play while pretending that I can sleep in tomorrow.
I was doing my laundry today and almost forgot the fretless banjo performance. Beautiful flowers and Wlld Flowers performance. Thanks Phoebe. 🥰💕
My fretless banjo is almost ready to play!
Subbed in joyful anticipation!
What a neat farm and I love your perseverance! You are going to be amazing and I subbed Also!
@@Aesops_AdventurersThank you! I won't be able to play for about a week because I sprained my wrist. I might post a video of me just singing.
@@The_Immanuelist Thank you a lot!
@@BanjoRose_down-picker 🙏Rest well. The world needs more artists like you and Phoebe!
Lovely lady, playing a lovely song, on her lovely banjo. ❤ The back drop was awesome, as was the playing. Thank you!
frail on.
Tender and touching -- beautiful playing!
❤️
We had those bushes in the first house we lived in in florida. great playing 👍🏻
Ahhh! A soothing melodious tune to wind down, from a chaotic week. Thank you!
It is cold and rainy here in the netherlands is that the warped bucket from wednesday 😅 nice played
The crowd is clapping wildly.
That song goes VERY nice as fretless!
I don’t know about the banjo but I’d say the one playing it is doing a very nice job too.
Such a wistful tune. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I LOVED IT!!!!!
I was in a bad mood today, you know old and cranky. But while you were playing I’m not so cranky anymore, thanks.
Very nice and brought some peace to my day. Love your flowers and your outfit and cap. Have a great weekend.
Bougainvillia and You, Phoebe! Such sweet music... You could Make a grown man cry.

Sorry to hear about the storm! Glad to hear that the “Doc” has stepped in and made the day better! She’s one in a billion :)
Man, I liked the pumpkin dude. Shame they don't last long, but it was a fun video.
Heeey, return of the bucket! I recognize that from the little pumpkin man video, looks like the newest addition to the cast of regulars

Nice tune. Thanks for playing it for us.
The chicken we hardly ever see wandered through the picture and around the hay wagon right at the beginning.
Just love it 🎉
just keep doing stuff and posting- inspirational. have a great week
Can't not smile when you do these. Cheers :)
Thanks!
Thank YOU!!

❤ que bonito
One of my favorite songs as well. I hope you post the “ensemble” version for us as well!😊
thanks, time for my weekly fix!
Loved it and the awesome background
Thank you, Phoebe, for the pleasant early Autumn serenade. I had to do a double take on Henny Penny going underneath the little red wagon. Dutiful Toto on duty making sure the bugs don't bug your musical self.
Be Well.
Nicely done!
I’d love to see the ensemble play this song if that’s possible; beautiful song! 🤍🪻

I've been working overtime, but I had the day off today unexpectedly, so no frets here! Enjoy the weather!

Nooo Mr. Pumpkinson allready died?🤥RIP!
If anyone says you are not a treasure,I'd say Wrong 😎👍🎶🎵
Pumpkin man rest in peace, or in soup ? Not in fret today anyway. 🙂

Love those slides, you're good at throwing them in there.

I hope that you get some video of the ensemble performance. One of Tom Petty best

So, the bucket turned out to be good for something.
Noooo! Pumpkin Man? We hardly knew ye!
Phoebe - we missed your signature sign off … “Do not fret, it’s fretless Friday” … it’s a great comfort when u say it …
p.s. is this the Tom Petty tune?
yep
🌷🌸🌺🌾🥀🌺🎶👍
I'm so happy, Wildflowers is my favorite song by tom petty !
Did you make the banjo? It looks like it has a wooden top/box. You're getting projection with it, how so?
Some "hardwood"??
It's open-back, so it projects pretty well. She's demonstrated it quite a bit on previous videos, and shown the open back and how it projects more if it's not resting right against her.
Sweet tune! Is the bucket you're sitting on the one from the Pumpkin Man video?? I think it is! 🪣🪕
Bless You Miss Phoebe is that Bixby? your very gifted I Like The Fretless Sound Your chooks seem Chilled too Good on you Gr8 Music
Not seen a banjo like that before, a new thing?

Spooky Banjo video for Halloween? Please?
...life will find you ..worry less
Have you learned how to slide the harmonics? Look at the Tony Franklin fretless bass videos on the topic

I also listened to this again just now. You play well and it's pleasant to listen to you. Thanks.
