    Thank you for these. Nice saves for my playlist as these will be good to drift off to sleep to, like I always did tuned into late night jazz/fusion radio programming those many years ago. I started in the early ‘70s when I was a kid. My kind of music veered off from that of most of my friends who listened only to ‘70s rock. Small town; I was one fish in a different pond, for sure. Jazz opened doors for me to more and more great musicians through Joni Mitchell, Weather Report, Stanley Clarke, even Steely Dan whose music went over heads except for their hits. I kept listening to what I liked, took names and made lists, and I’m so glad I did. I got the better music because of late night radio that most no one else listened to for the most part, no doubt whatsoever. Thank you, Kyle, you’re the best!

      That whole LP is excellent, He is the bassist of Azymuth. I found the LP after identifying the track Travelling Through Your Body. Quality Brazillian jazz!

    • @dhampex3631
      @dhampex3631 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@KJCMuzique oh that makes since now! At first i thought that song was from azymuth, has that azymuth feel. Yes that quality brazilian jazz is it. its funny how i got into brazilian jazz was through one of my favorite all time keyboardist "George Duke" . When i was young in the house hold we played everything but george duke's album "Dont let go" was in rotation. As i got a little older i start to listen to his other albums, and brazilian "A brazilian Love Affair" was the one that introduce me into brazilian sound. on there he had so many brazilian musicians on there,, i think Milton was on there as well. That album i knew sounded different than most georges albums, but i loved the sound, chord progressions, etc. As a keyboardist that caught my ears, and this what led me into finding the brazil sound. even tho i knew about Azymuth but didnt dive deep into them at a later time. Even tho there not brazilian but there south american,,,,Caldera is a great latin jazz group there album "Sky Island " is the best ,,grew up on that album.

      @KJCMuzique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@dhampex3631 Very cool, I vaguely remember Caldera. I may have owned one of their records at some point. I'll have to look back into them. George Duke and T Lavitz remain my top favorite jazz keyboardists, both now passed sadly. One of the firstt songs I heard by George Duke was Capricorn off his Faces In Reflection, and in 1983 I heard his "Sweet Baby", "Thinking of You" (Rendezvous) and "Positive Energy" (Dream On) on 94Q. I think those three tunes are the ones I go back with the most with George Duke.

    • @dhampex3631
      @dhampex3631 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@KJCMuzique caldera is a great band, I know sky island was produce by EWF keyboardist Larry Dunn,, who also produce Ronnie Laws stuff. Oh yes those george duke tunes are great. I love all his stuff and its hard. i love his songs with his minimoog solo, by far "Lemme At It' Is one of his best minimoog solo, but i love all his work. I love me some T Lavitz as well Herbie is my other all time. Yellow jackets first album is great and "Mirage A Trois" is my other. The Mirage was my introduction to the yellow Jackets at age 6 when it came out. My father played that religiously. Man so many great music came out in the late 70s -80s- and mid 90s. Smooth jazz in that decade was golden as well. I do miss that like tom grant, rippingtons, earl kluh, The GRP catalog like tom brown, Bernard Wright, Dave vaalentine, Rit, Ivan Lins (on grp for a short time)Marcus Miller, man so many to name

    • @KJCMuzique
      @KJCMuzique  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dhampex3631 Yes, lots of jazz greats! That Mirage A Trois album was the first album I heard by the YJs, as well as Matinee Idol. I picked up Robben Ford's 'Inside Story' on vinyl in 1981 which was basically a Yellowjackets album, before they officially became the YJs. Mirage A Trois remains my favorite pre-Russo/Kennedy album by the YJs! But I also love their mid-80s and early 90s sound as well.
