Ive never owned a t maxx. Im an LST nut and I own every varient of the lst including the muggy. Would you recommend the tmaxx as a must have for a collection?? I fell in love with LST and also the MGT/rival platform but never really got into t maxx. I had a revo 3.3 for a while but didnt really enjoy working on it. But i could be wrong because i thought i wouldn't like the mgt/rival platform but it ended up being my best driving/handling platform and i use it just as much as the Losi trucks!
To answer your question I would have to say yes it’s a must have for a collection. It’s one of the founding platforms for 2speed monster truck. Now if you are used to an LST then the Tmaxx will definitely feel smaller. I’ve never bought a new in the box Tmaxx, I’m not sure I could justify the cost especially since out of the box for me to really enjoy I’ll have to do either O.S. Carb or Losi Carb and some big bore shocks, then possibly the THS pipe. If you ever do buy a used Tmaxx make sure it’s the 3.3 version, and not just a 2.5 with a 3.3 in it or something like that. The older Tmaxxs are not nearly as tough as the newer ones. Also you have to check your bearings in the 3.3 periodically otherwise you are risking the motor blowing up. The great thing about the Tmaxx is that there is options across the board and parts for days! My daily beater one is getting an O.S .21 in it very soon (already have it, just waiting install/break in). I own a big selection of various monster trucks including LSTs which also are my favorite but last year for some reason I just kept running my Tmaxx over and over, 3 plus gallons. I’d say it’s definitely worth a try for you. Especially if you can find a good used 3.3.
It’s the proline belted trenchers premounted 2.8s. They have interchangeable center hub and you can get the offset center in 14mm and also 17mm if I’m not mistaken.
@@captainronify , they sure are. Since this video I've changed them to RPM arms but they are also the stock lengh. It's the wheels that are giving it all that offset.
I got to use one for 2 weeks. My Cousin has a GoPro Max. I absolutely loved it. It’s on my list of things to get real soon. I have a Mic for my camera coming in this week so I can get rid of wind noise, and I have a GPS speedometer in the works so I can give speed results of the different cars. Then that GoPro Max. List is too long :)
For a truck that came first came out in 1999 it’s amazing that it still can be so much fun. I bet there’s a lot of these sitting on shelves. Already from this and previous video I shared on my FB I’ve had friends that I didn’t know were into RC tell me that they have or had one.
I did the exact same thing 2.8 Proline Raid wheels, and trenchers, only I did a electric conversion.🤟👍😝
