Thank you so much for presenting such an interview. Today most of the interviews are like just chit-chat with directors and actors without considering the value and depth of cinema as an artform.The questions of the anchor and more than that the way of interaction that he deployed is well formulated. Duration of the interview is not at all felt as a prolonging one rather it feels as a needed time and space for the interviewee to open up. The opinion about the "Placement of songs in movies" expressed by Lal Jose sir seems to be quite right. waiting for more interviews from THE CUE.

Cinema is a very powerful medium. That is why certain films, filmstars & characters are setting trends. Films can subconsciously influence people to a great extent. If you take a look at the films from the past, it clearly shows how the mindset of people has evolved over these years. Cinema and society go hand in hand, it does influence each other. The differences in the characterization and plot of past & present movies are evidence of this impact.
I agree with your point.
At the same time, cinema, like other creative endeavors, is a forum through which somebody conveys their perspectives. We have the right to agree/disagree. If everybody should make films according to what we think is right, then we won't get diverse movies.

LJ is an experienced,good and humble director. 'Maravathur kanavu' really deserves appreciation. That doesn't mean that a movie like 'Chandupottu" can be approved. Lal Jose is using the body of 'Radhakrishnan' to produce jokes. Radha's body language is just a tòol for making others laugh. People who have watched this movie is still using such men's body to crack the same jokes, same offending jokes to body shame the 'Radhas' arround us. LJ should take the responsibility of this problem his movie brings in. Please don't tell that Chandupottu movie brings the issue of such people in to light. It's better to have no representation than a misrepresentation or a vicious representation.

It's sad that these great and talented directors have such elephant sized egos and refuse to even reevaluate or accept the possibility of them being wrong. The ability to accept a mistake is a sign of maturity, but for that, one definitely needs to understand that something was a mistake. Mr Lal Jose seems to be oblivious of what he has done or I guess chooses to be oblivious to protect his ego.

The movie doesn't even clarify what he is. To me it seemed - they were trying to say that , the protagonist is a man who went through a "phase" and he had to do what every so called man has to do to prove his masculinity - Knock-up a girl, do errands that a man is supposed to do as a fisherman. And that somehow made him normal.
Own up, man. You tried to tackle a subject you obviously have no idea about.
You couldn't even be bothered to ask the LGBTQ+ make up artists who work in the industry.

What he has done is with good intentions. He wanted to bring the problems faced by the sexual minorities in to the main stream. At that time no other directors dared to take any subjects like that. So called transgender theme movies come up only recently. If there were more mainstream movies like chandupottu with a sexual minority protogonist the public preception about the sexual minorities may have changed early.

താങ്കൾക്ക് തെറ്റി.. ഈ film ന്റെ discussions ഒക്കെ അന്ന് tv യിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ദിലീപ് അടക്കം ഉള്ളവർ details പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.. അവർ doctor മാരുമായി discuss ചെയ്തിട്ട് തന്നെയാണ് film എടുത്തത്..രണ്ട് രീതിയിൽ sthrainatha വരാം.. ഒന്ന് ഈ film ലെ പോലെ വളർത്തു ദോഷം കൊണ്ടും പിന്നെ ഒന്ന് ഹോർമോൺ problem കൊണ്ടും.. അത് വേറെ തന്നെ problem ആണ്.. അതിനെ പറ്റിയല്ല.. വളർത്തു ദൂഷ്യം കൊണ്ട് sthrainatha വന്ന രാധയുടെ കഥയാണ് ഇതെന്ന് അന്നേ അണിയറക്കാർ പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.. ഞാൻ ആ interviews കണ്ട ആളുമാണ്.. ഈ film ൽ രാധയെ ആൺകുട്ടി ആയാണ് കാണിക്കുന്നതും.. ഇത്തരം ആൾക്കാരെയും അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നതായാണ് film ഉം പറയുന്നത്.. അതിൽ ഒരു സ്ഥലത്ത് പോലും രാധയെ ചാന്തുപൊട്ടെന്ന് വിളിച്ചു കളിയാക്കുന്നില്ല..രാധയെ Film ഇറങ്ങിയ ശേഷം ഞാനും താനും അടക്കമുള്ള ജനങ്ങൾ അല്ലെ ചാന്തുപൊട്ട് എന്ന് വിളിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങിയത്.. ഇത്തരക്കാരെ താങ്കൾ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്തത് കൊണ്ടാണ്.. Transgenders മാത്രമല്ല ഇങ്ങനെ ഉള്ളവരും ഉണ്ട്.. പക്ഷെ അന്ന് transgenders നെ കുറിച്ച് സമൂഹത്തിനു ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ പോലെ അറിവുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.. അതിനു ഈ film നെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞിട്ടെന്താ കാര്യം.. ഈ film അങ്ങനൊരു തെറ്റായ സന്ദേശവും കൊടുക്കുന്നുമില്ല.. പിന്നെ എന്തിനു sorry പറയണം.. പാർവതി അങ്ങനെ sorry പറഞ്ഞത് ഈ film ന്റെ crew നെ മോശക്കാരാക്കുകയല്ലേ ചെയ്തത്..
അതിന് പാർവതിയും പൊരിച്ച മീൻ ടീമും പറയുന്നതൊക്കെ ആരു ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.ഇവരുടെയൊക്കെ കോപ്രായങ്ങൾ സിനിമാ പ്രേമികൾ കണക്കിലെടുക്കാറില്ല. ആരും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്നു മനസ്സിലാവുമ്പോൾ ഇത് പോലത്തെ വേഷം കെട്ടലുമായിട്ടു വരും.
