- Hey everyone, and welcome to the second part in my Ghosts of Ghostbusters Explained series. And today, I will be looking at every ghost found in the true Ghostbusters 3, the video game.

They did shandor dirty in Afterlife
That’s why I like to add the video game to my own head canon
@@Cosmicghost3 plus it makes even more sense when Gozer kills him, as he betrayed them.
I agree with you about that topic
@@connoraber7781 Agreed. The Video game (considering it takes place in 91) doesn't really contradict Afterlife for the most part. The IDW comics are a lot harder to reconcile with what happens in AFterlife
I don't mind Shandor being killed by Gozer. I just wish he had more screen time before that happened.
The crying angel heads backstory is utterly hearbreaking. Even ghosts can still experience trauma.
Man i forgot how much i love this game
The game was amazing for the time they nailed the gameplay it played exactly like I hoped it would. My only complaint is the lack of Co-op. I wish we got another story based game.
Well, if anything, the reason Shandor was easily killed by Gozer in Afterlife, was that he was so weakened by his fight with the Ghostbusters. Besides, Gozer must of been pissed from him trying to usurp her powers for his own plans.
Facts
The Jeans that just casually follow you are pretty disturbing
At first it's funny and then after it keeps following you it becomes very unsettling
I always thought The Webbed Fiends were The Spider-Witch’s victims, twisted into her minions
16:28 In the first Ghostbusters movie, when Louis Tully was possessed by the male demon dog Vinz Clortho, Vinz told Egon that in the previous world Gozer had destroyed, the Meketrex people "chose" the form of an adult Slor for Gozer, because many Shubs and Zuuls often have nightmares about getting swallowed whole by a Slor.
19:43 This also explains why Gozer decided to return to Earth in her natural form during Ghostbusters Afterlife, because she had been beaten as Stay Puft twice (edit starts here): and cannot choose a new destructor form in the Earth dimension.
It's interesting but, what is a Slor? On the game i read the description but i didn't get the point of the Slor. Is some kind of a gatekeeper or something?
@@AlfonsoDGOfficial Some kind of creature from a parallel dimension. In the first Ghostbusters movie, Vinz the Keymaster (Its painfully obvious to me that you don't know that Zuul the female demon dog is the Gatekeeper) hinted that Gozer has destroyed many civilizations before visiting Earth, and the people of those civilizations have "allowed" him to take the form of creatures never seen before in the Earth dimension.
@@LightStreak567 Ah ok thanks for the reply. I mean i really didn't know that. So Gozer allows these 'dead people from other civilizations' to take the form of a dimensional creature. Ok i get it now at some point. Really thank you for the reply as i said before i played the game but i didn't know that exactly 😊😉
@@AlfonsoDGOfficial But you HAVE watched the first Ghostbusters movie, right?
@@LightStreak567 Yup i did. I actually love it! But the thing is that i didn't remembered the name of Vinz that he is the Keymaster and Zuul was the Gatekeeper i said that about the Slor because on the game i didn't know at first what was the intention of these creature (if it was keeping the mandalas for Shandor, if it was to destroy i mean his mission you know)... I just didn't know it my bad, sorry about that.
Holy shit! This channel has fnaf, Arkham, and ghostbusters..my freaking childhood before my eyes. Love this!
Also what about the “ghosts” in the children’s room in the library and the whispers from black slime?
Based off what we know I believe those entities would be considered "class 1" because they are just disembodied voices.
only thing missing is transformers
Dudeeee i was just thinking about this, i love ghostbusters and its so strange that there are so little videos about the lore of the saga
I actually think the Chairman's classification as a Class VII is quite accurate. He is clearly more powerful than any of the ghosts in the game, as he has the most magical powers displayed. He does fire a laser, but also several magical orbs, could absorb souls, and had some degree of telekinesis since it looked like he pulled up the floor to escape from the Ghostbusters and it sealed right after he fled. He might have even had some telepathic powers (or more simply mind control) as it seems like he might have been the one to hyonotize Illyssa and send her to the Sedgewick and again at the Natural History Museum when the crew arrived. He also appeared to be the most knowledgeable on Black Slime among the cult, as he was entrusted with its protection and maintenance. The glowing eye might have been a reference to some pendant or artifact that he wore while alive that may have carried over in death. Maybe it is what allowed him to mesmerize Illyssa. Either way, he definitely packed more punch than the Spider-Witch (since she was only as powerful as she was due to the power he sent her and her enhanced capabilities as a node guardian) and possibly Azetlor (considering how he was more ably affecting the physical world and likely had a hold in the Ghost World as well). He is stated to have been bestowed the most power in death of all of Ivo Shandor's followers. I could be wrong, but I personally see his high rating as pretty justified. Especially if we remove game mechanics from the equation. As for the other two, I never got why they weren't Class VIIs. Azetlor seemed an easy Class VII to me, and the Spider-Witch seemed like a high-end Class IV that was promoted to a Class VII as a node guardian and definitely got there thanks to the Chairman's PKE donation. Man was still funding the dream even in death. A real trooper.
That's a lot of good points. That actually makes me feel better about him being Class 7
@@CharacterHistory Thanks! I was just replaying the game myself for Halloween (on Professional since I never had the guts as a kid) and after I was finished I stumbled upon this series. The Chairman was the main one that really stood out to me as anomalous in the video when you pointed it out. I replayed it to be sure and wound up gaining some respect for the corpulent corporatist. He isn't the biggest threat in the game. But, because he is the one who hypnotized Illyssa both times and caused the PKE surge (leading to the kickoff for the Mandala and Gozer's temporary resurrection) at the start of the game, then he is the most significant.
Also, cool series! I grew up on the franchise as a kid and I gotta say these are probably the most comprehensive video records of the classifications. That said, I too wish the CDI was more consistent across the series. Especially since I used to love the cartoons back when TV still aired the reruns. They had some cool spirits. But, it is what it is.
Theory: many sprits can possess anything and anyone.
I think the Beauty Queen ghosts haunt the statues BECAUSE they are so obsessed with looks
(Statues are usually aesthetically pleasing & usually made of lasting materials, whereas the Beauty Queen ghosts are now hideously ugly or "corrupted" like as in Portrait of Dorain Gray...I think they use them as beauty masks, essentially - or maybe Shandor had them killed/encased inside, who knows? Entirely speculative & last bit's more in jest, but'd make sense)~
Wow, that's actually a great theory. That's my head canon now
This game was so sick! I really got surprised now much stuff got into it! I wish we had more Ghostbuster games and cartoons like that!
The beauty queen ghosts have shark jaws. And those black slime monsters look like the tar monster from scooby doo.
I wish this game and Spirits Unleashed could have a baby.... love the gameplay and story of the 2009 game but also love the customization of Spirits Unleashed.
I had the PS2 version of this game. And you had to fight a t-rex skeleton that was covered in black slime.
Yep that's the stylized version
This guy is seriously underrated
Holy crap, that's a LOT of ghoulish guys and gals! Good thing NYC has the Ghostbusters on speed dial to deal with all of these creeps, huh?
what about the xbox 360 exclusive muitiplayer ghosts?
clowns, order of pelicans, Ghouls and marshmallow monsters?
and The Most Wanted Ghosts, hello again lol
For the toaster I think there’s a much much darker story behind it than what is told and to me that story is subtly implied
First of all why would she have a toaster near her when she died? The only way to implicate it as just nearby is if she spent her final days eating toast and bagels
But I feel like something happened to her maybe she saw her own future and didn’t like it or someone sinister was using her for bad acts and threatening her so she didn’t talk to the cops and she couldn’t take the guilt
Whichever reason she had she ultimately decided to end her own life and took a bath then dropped the toaster into the water
And due to the highly pke charged death(no doubt the violent death of being electrocuted to death in a bathtub filled with water would carry a bunch of pke spikes with it) ended up giving the toaster her powers
But that’s my theory on why she chose a toaster of all things to give her powers to
It's a nod to the Ghostbusters 2 scene with the toaster. In the firehouse it's on the pool table like in the movie, and if you interact with it, it bounces around just like it did in the movie.
@@superneonmike9216 I know that I have the remastered edition I’m just referring to the Tobin’s guide entry you get when collecting the toaster I know it becomes an easter egg
I am thoroughly impressed with this video. I was absolutely engaged from start to finish! Good work on this man, this was fantastic!
Underrated one of my favorite ps3 games
was a fun video, but on the cursed items that have sentience, you forgot about the roaming trunk that appears in different places.
Enjoying this series.
1:31 he was not initially going to be in the game, but he was the ghost added when the devs decided to make a tutorial level.
Wow!!! Love the video, very clearly explained. I actually still play this game on PS5 even though it is made for PS4 as a remaster.
But what i really love about the game is the story telling, was it created by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis right? The mandala nodes, the Gozerian codex... Etc. The fact that Ivo Sandor AKA The Architect is the final boss is brilliant. And the best mission for me is the Spider Witch, very interesting story. 👻🚫
Underrated channel good work
This video was an awesome breakdown of all the different classifications in detail. It’s like Tobin’s Spirit Guide in video form. I knew there was a lot of detail crammed into the game, but I had no idea it was this much till now. Personally, as a GB fan. I wasn’t really into Afterlife and I still don’t really consider anything after this game canon to the first two movies. This will always be my third installment. Just in the form of a video game.
I love this game and I'm REALLY bad at it 😅
Ay this is pretty damn cool! subscribed.
RW: somehow I think the toaster is reference to Ghostbusters two
Fascinating video, great in depth research!
I always preferred the Wii spider witch fight and catch, it’s such a cool idea that her body is a homunculus she just possessed and enhanced with her magic powers seemed so cool to me
Explain the online ones also i thought class 6 was animal and other non human but once living creatures also gozer isn't a her but a he as stated by his sister timat and everyone else
The wayward angels group is a front made by Shandor where the trustees use the women for bizarre rituals according to Ray in the game.
I'd like to point out that Shandor didn't live hundreds of years before the Ghostbusters. He lived around the time of the first World War. He started his secret society in 1920 remember
I am the eggs popping on danas counter
The true sequel we all wanted. Rook shouldve been Oscar.
I will now also refer to them as paper cuts. Thank you sir
Wait. Didn't the video game have those classes of ghost already down in the pke menu hub with both description and class number?
Great vid
I have to play the game again soon. It’s so good
Papa's beard is the same as the cursed artfact beard
I’m not judging anyone here.
But I think there’s some more Cursed Artifacts that have some sentience to them.
Gustav Self Service Tray which will randomly appear outside people’s rooms
The Stay Puff Figure that doesn’t stay in one place
The Seat of Vapors Foul Which is a chair that has a Sub-demon bond to it for a prank that backfired
An Ecto-1 Remote Controled Car that has a low-level possessor attached to it & wants to be somewhere else
A Cruel Oven that has sounds of banging & Cries for help coming from it
The Ravishing Red Prince cause it was supposedly painted using his & the blood of others
Edit
Could you do the ghost from the multiple player maps
Hear Me Out On The Spider Witch.
I grew up in the Wii version and I like both versions for different reasons. I prefer the levels of the Wii version especially the spider witch ones because they are longer but the normal version of the game is “scarier” also it controls better.
Would you do a video on the ghosts of spirits unleashed and or a video on a top few ghosts from extreme and real Ghostbusters
You forgot the class 1 kid ghost in the library
Do you mean the kids ghost voices we hear in that child section of the Library.
Cause if you do. Those creeped me out the first time I played it
@@exwa1300 yes and same here
What about the rc ecto 1 that has a siren that goes off?
Isn’t Pappy Sargassi class 3? ( I think he should be 4 but the game says 3)
What is that background music from?
Would you try to do more like this with Ghostbusters Wii?
Great vid! 👻🔫💨
Hey. Have you done the wii version.
Because the wii version has its own unique ghosts and ghouls
Could you classified the ghost from
Ghostbusters spirit unleashed?
Wow the PS2 and the...next Gen games are really more different than being in a cartoony style from the IDW comics
Also can you do the PS2 version?
The sloth ghost is literally just mr.creosote
When was the fish monster referenced in the first movie?! 19:12
I still think this is canon since no toes are stepped on and there was enough time in between
Well gozer is a powerful entity and can be any powerful ghost she/he wants and evil shandar looks like gozer the gozerian father koza 'rai
Play the game in professional mode and get the gozer achievement ghost 👻
Can we classify Peck as a trash or the annoying ghost? 😂
11:30 I thought Confederate ghosts are wore robes and pointy hoods, lol.
Class 9 overlord aka vigo and garraka
The ps2 / Wii version has different ghost
Wait ghostbusters had a roleplaying game?
Loving the videos.. But I believe Gozer and Other Demi God's were Class 10 and above..
🤣 18:27
🤣🤣 19:16
🤣🤣🤣 19:51
Shut why not watch this?
You never talked about slimer?
