We love ours❤️ My neice is developmentally disabled and she and I managed to put it up in the spare bedroom. She turns it on every night by herself. We got it at a discount store really cheap and we didn’t even know it had sounds🤔‼️( just as well)❗️
Thank God for this video because I was so perplexed how to get this to work. The tripod was genius! Mine didn't come with instructions so I was so lost. Thank yoi!
Great review, you could use stick on velcro to attach/detach the screen. Also you can also use a simple translucent shower curtain. I have a wireless speaker system that I'm planning on using. For the price it's a pretty simple effect for Halloween or Christmas.
When I projected it through our window it was very blurry. So Last Christmas I built out of PVC a stand with the screen on it for outside and projected it through the back of the screen not through a window and it worked amazing. Super clear scenes
I was about 5 min away from buying this then saw your video, Glad I did. Not buying this especially because I own a real theater projector that is super bright and a sheet with thumb tacks will work. Projectors are cheap nowadays used on craigslist so I think it's the better of the two.
@@weeworld53 i suggest you to buy one from spookyillusion.com they have the exact same i think they are the owners of this one actually, their price is also very good! bought mine from them and it works so lovely im 100% ready for halloween, here is the link if u are interested: spookyillusion.com/products/spookyillusion%E2%84%A2-halloween-projector
They have them at Menards for $10 I was thinking about buying one, but not now. The problem is, as stated in your video, you have to have the projector on the other side of the room and you lose a lot of the already weak light of the projector. I think spending a little more money and getting something better is what I will do. Thanks for the review.
For $60 it should have long videos of snow, Santa's elves, reindeers, swamp creatures, ghosts, and Frankenstein's monster. You covered the whole product in your review and this video is very fun to watch. Thank you.
Sounds like you need to be creating these things instead of them...I mean you can get huge sd cards that can hold several hours of quality video and audio...
I solved both of these problems. First for the screen i purchased kids craft magnets with adhesive. Second for the audio i purchased a cheap Bluetooth transmitter / receiver 2 in one for under 10 bucks and use a wireless speaker. Hope this helps!
When you were outside you mentioned it being a bit dim....however you some outdoor flood lights turned on, would it have been brighter if the floods were off?
Hey Dave, I turned my porch lights off around 6:30. The remaining light is from a street light. I have a pretty good comparison of how dim it is compared to three others in this video: th-cam.com/video/WckdRlurdy4/w-d-xo.html
Not sure how well it would stick but maybe cutting sqaures out of parchment or wax paper may help the stickers. You can find both usually near the rolls of foil in the grocery store. Or for that matter maybe a piece of foil would work.
And I was thinking, instead of using the tape at all,you could poke a small hole in each corner and use little suction cups with the small hook, that way you just remove it with ease and not have to worrie about any damage.
Nice video. I saw this at my home depot and it was for $100. I said to myself before I buy it I'm gonna watch a review first. It does look okay but I'm gonna go with a different holiday projector for bit more money.
I saw this commercial today and came here to see if you'd reviewed it! I agree, it's pretty dim. Also, once you have the screen up, you can't see out that window until you take it down. As for the sticky tape corners, put a little waxed paper over it, and that should keep it protected.
I think the idea is there but it's badly executed. A brighter picture, longer loops, and the ability to automatically cycle through loops would help this quite a bit.
Some searching will get you a high powered projector off Ebay for under $40. another $40 for a Dvd from Atmosfearfx and your home Dvd player and you have a far superior effect than spending $60 on this cheap home solution. Sure it's more expensive but you get what you pay for. If you want a good quality effect you have to pay for it.
Another very well done review. It actually looked better than I thought it would, but needs some improvements for the price. I've looked at the Window FX Halloween Projector which is more expensive, but looks like a much better product. Thanks again, John
Good review. But that is annoying with the window thing coming down. It'd be better if it was able to stay outside and then onto the window should be a little easier to see the white line instead of behind it. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much for reviewing it!! I just saw the commercial about 10 minutes ago. I wanted to get it for my grandma for her yearly Nativity " show" she puts outside her house in Mexico for the towns people's enjoyment, she's famous for it btw lol. I am concerned about the darkness of the film itself and the fact that you had to expand so far in order for the show to fit your window, mmm I don't know if I like that. Also you had trouble with the plastic screen ugh NIX!!! Darn! I really liked it for her, she would've been soo excited! #dissapointedgrandaughterrighthere Anyway, thanks.
Its probably a good thing the audio isn't easily set up because you'd drive yourself (and your neighbors) crazy listening to the same 10 seconds over and over haha
Idk... I had Xmas lights that played a cpl different songs n my neighbor complimented them! I don't think they're loud enough to hear through the outside wall
Better off with the Windows FX projector for the same price. Picture's brighter and the screen is fabric not plastic so it can be reused. I wound up patching a shower curtain and the screen together to fit a 91 inch window. The double sided tape doesn't work for year to year...I used 3 M mounting putty and it held the heavy screen up perfectly.
Glad you shared this, not going to buy it now that I know it's not as bright as they advertised and they only give you a cheap dollar store table cloth for the screen.

My Dadought one of these from Wish under a slightly different name (but $40!). Other than the name it's exactly the same. If you can pick it up for £10 or so - then great, but at the cost my Dad paid it's pretty poor. As mentioned the camera has to be SUPER far back, so we can only get ours displaying on a small portion. What peeves me the most is that you can't choose to have it rotate through the movies - you have to manually change them - surely they could have made an option where it cycled through
I love my winter wonderland. I have had mine for 3 years. I never cut the screen so i can use it on any size window. I have used command strips and tape to restick the screen. I hope they come out with other holiday themes, New Year, Valentines, St. Patrick day, Easter 4th July and Thanksgiving.
Easier way to put the screen up is to put the tabs on the window first leaving the protective tabs on them. Then remove one protective tab at the top stick the screen to it. Move on to the next top tab. Then the two bottom tabs pulling them tight. Now go around and scissor the excess off. I purchase mine at a thrift store for $8.
Two things. Don't cut the screen just fold it to fit. Use tacky clay not two sided tape to put it up. Actually three things. Just run the sound to a speaker behind the window. It doesn't need to go out side.
I got mine for free from someone who bought one and never used it. and I'm glad I did. Great concept but the 10-second videos are super short to be enjoyable. At least it should loop through all the videos automatically for variety. But it doesn't. It's mind-numbing to watch the same l short video over and over and over again. The biggest limitation to me is it can't project on the window itself. I don't want to cover my window for an entire month or so with that plastic sheeting. Nor do I want to take the sheet on and off every day. I have a different projector that projects through the window onto the mesh screen. No having to tape up a glorified shower curtain covering my window. After I tested mine out, it went back in the box and onto a storage shelf.
For the sound issue. Get a cheap fm, or bluetooth transmitter, plug it into the audio out and then just put a radio or bluetooth speaker outside on halloween halloween during trick or treating
I used a 10 ft audio cable and an outdoor speaker and I live on a busy street and it's plenty loud. It also says the bulb cannot be changed and that is incorrect. I changed the bulb to a longer throw LED bulb and it both made it clearer and it's much brighter outside. I've done this for 6 years and it works great
I think the projector was really bright in daylight. And it would work better without the outside lighting on. But the scenes were cartoony. I imagine you can install your own.
It seems to me that a simple lens attachment could make it fit a window without moving it back at all,I'm sure that's a soon to be extra charge add on..
If it was cheaper and each loop was a lot longer I would maybe get it. I wonder if you used a regular white sheet? As another person said, we also have 6 small square panes on bottom and top of windows so it would not show good at my home ☹️. Great video! Love your videos! Just found you today! Hey Denise, thank you for the comment! I think you pretty much summed up my conclusion. Tomorrow I'm posting another new "Star Shower" review, which I think is better than this one.
I too live in Vegas, and wonder if I want to pay the $50 HSN is offering it for now, for something with a 10 second loop. I mean if it had a nice 30 seconds of 1 minute loop it might be cool. Thank you for the review, it gives me a better idea about it.
I think it's pretty cool. I saw this on Facebook today and it was free all I had to pay for was shipping witch was about $9.80. Not bad compared to $60.00 witch I was going to pay buying it from Lowe's my local hardware store.

For 60 bucks I'd expect it to do a bit more than what it does. It is a neat gadget though. One solution for the tape on the screen would be to use something like painter's tape to put the screen up. Considering it isn't something that you will have up all the time, that might be a way to get the job done without damage to the screen or the window. I'm wondering if it would work on a wall say against a picture frame or a mirror. Instead of having the folks walking by your house enjoy it, you could enjoy it yourself. Might be an idea for a holiday party or something like that. At least you'd get the sound function.
Painter's tape would probably be better. I also thought that people who buy it for Halloween will also want to use it for Christmas, and may want to take it down until after Thanksgiving. That means they'd have to figure out the "adhesive problem" too. I think it could work on a non-textured wall or other interior surface.
I thought it looked cool too. But then you said $60.00 and I went into shock. Change the outdoor lightbulbs to red, get some scary music, fake spider webbing for the windows and your favorite drink. Then let the wife pass out candy. 😁
It is cool I got it don't use the shower curtain that comes in a box go and buy a white shower curtain at the Dollar Tree put in front of your window it is off the hook it is bad I love it it's excellent it's worth the money don't go to Home Depot and buy that one because that one's just stupid looking but just got chainsaw Massacre and it is so awesome got to get it it's worth the money love it it's just tough I love it👍 thumbs up🎉
Just found it at Home DePot for $14.00. $60.00 was its' original cost, geeeeeeeeez!!!!! That IS about what it's worth $14.00. Reasonably good image, sound good. I'd do up a wireless solution for outdoors. Haven't tried the screen yet, so I can't make a report on the brightness of it in actual intended use. Halloween I will :-)
i saw it at bed bath and beyond today looked good but wanted to see a sample of it so i found your video, good idea but i agree with you could be brighter
Yeah you're right I can see if you had a single pane glass window that would work awesome and yeah I don't understand why you have to put the projector so far back that's crazy it would be cool if you could mount it to the ceiling somehow so it would be up and out of way and also I live in an RV full time so I could probably just keep that piece of screen up on my window and plus it blocks out a lot of the heat to from the sunshine so that would work perfect for my needs👍👍

Leave the sticky tape on the screen. Cover it with a piece of the stuff that stamps and such sticky labels come on. - It works, for me, for other sticky things and tape.
James have I got plans for this thing. It plays movies, I wonder if you can put your own content on it and use as a movie projector for a backyard theater. Throw a few AVIs of movies on it. It doesn't look like it had a USB port but maybe there's a hidden memory card inside. or even a composite video signal running somewhere. (I opened one of my flip style cameras and there was a 1GB MicroSD card in a holder inside.)
Interesting! I was curious about this and I'm so glad you have this review. While awesome, I can see that it takes a dedicated window, and lots of room to get the camera back far enough to fill said window. I can see this for Halloween night, for trick or treat, but I just can't see dedicating a large window daily, unless it's a rarely used room, with light to no traffic. Maybe a den, great room, or lightly used family room, or even an unused bedroom. I have a nice bay window in my living room, but I just can't see having this set up in the busiest room of my house, and besides that, I like to see out said window! Halloween night, YES! All month for Christmas? Not in my house, LOL! Still, it's an interesting concept. Too bad thay didn't think about the optics, and get it to where you could get the camera closer to the window. And the tape idea was just stupid. Don't worry about taking the tape off, just get some of that poster putty, and stick it with that next year...
Great comment! You may be interested to see how this looks outside in my 4-way Star Shower comparison. It's still dim, but I think it could be used against the side of a house on a dark night. th-cam.com/video/WckdRlurdy4/w-d-xo.html

Mine is not very bright can’t see too well from outside. Your colors much brighter than mine. Was wondering if way to make it brighter. Once lights outside for Christmas are on even lighter.
I know this comment is very late, but I wonder if putting little pieces of parchment paper on the sticky corners to store it. Wonder if it will preserve the sticky and also be easy to remove to reuse the next year.

Try putting wax paper over the 4 corners of the stickers. It should stay relatively well.
For $60 it should have long videos of snow, Santa's elves, reindeers, swamp creatures, ghosts, and Frankenstein's monster. You covered the whole product in your review and this video is very fun to watch. Thank you.

I'm sure there's a way to do it.
Could you use a ultra thin shower liner for the screen for the second, third and fourth year?
Put the camera closer and use one window pane !
No, it would be tiny then. The closer you are the smaller it is..
I love mine. Better than most other outdoor light displays on the market.

They have bluetooth adapters, you could try plugging in and have a speaker setup outside.
Take axillary cord connect it to your receiver . And to the projector. And run the speaker wire outside the window and set it in your bushes

My first thought is can you make your own scenes.
For audio, I would connect a wireless transmitter (Bluetooth or radio) to the 3.5mm jack there.
As far as sound. You could try a Bluetooth adapter and sync it to a Bluetooth speaker.
I may actually try that. Great idea!
That was my though exactly. Get a weatherproof/waterproof BT speaker.
Dude , at 4:24 you have just unintentionally filmed a flash of a thunder in a distance.....👏
i suggest you to buy one from spookyillusion.com they have the exact same i think they are the owners of this one actually, their price is also very good! bought mine from them and it works so lovely im 100% ready for halloween, here is the link if u are interested: spookyillusion.com/products/spookyillusion%E2%84%A2-halloween-projector
Hah exactly!
It is cool I got it don't use the shower curtain that comes in a box go and buy a white shower curtain at the Dollar Tree put in front of your window it is off the hook it is bad I love it it's excellent it's worth the money don't go to Home Depot and buy that one because that one's just stupid looking but just got chainsaw Massacre and it is so awesome got to get it it's worth the money love it it's just tough I love it👍 thumbs up🎉
You can buy a Bluetooth adaptor that will make any aux transmit to blutooth, put some Bluetooth rechargeable speakers out the front and should work.
great review will this work on a glass door///???
Firs time visiting your channel. Great review..... overall , do you still recommend this?
Just found it at Home DePot for $14.00. $60.00 was its' original cost, geeeeeeeeez!!!!! That IS about what it's worth $14.00. Reasonably good image, sound good. I'd do up a wireless solution for outdoors. Haven't tried the screen yet, so I can't make a report on the brightness of it in actual intended use. Halloween I will :-)
I just bought this and it is pretty cool for the price I paid which was $10, but at $60 I think it would be too expensive.
i saw it at bed bath and beyond today looked good but wanted to see a sample of it so i found your video, good idea but i agree with you could be brighter
would have been good if you could ad your own films to the projector
Just got it for $20 at Walmart...12/8/2017....missing 2 Velcro attachments but I have spare Velcro at home from home Depot...good review...Thanks!
use Velcro strips from home depot. and if you want sound, you can buy a bluetooth device to send the sound that way.
Gotta focus the lens by turning it to fill space, be close to window therefore brighter 👍🏻
The closer you are to the window, the smaller the image. It's a tradeoff.
Do you have to have a window? Or can you use it outside

Thanks for the review, does each video clip loop or does it go into the next clip automatically?
I really wanted one of these... your review is actually a lot better than the Amazon reviews that I've seen, but I won't be buying this one... feel sorry for anyone who's parted with their money for this! ☹

A lot of people in the comments seem to have found it for $10-20 and it's probably worth it for that price.
Thanks for the review.
Leave the sticky tape on the screen.
Cover it with a piece of the stuff that stamps and such sticky labels come on. - It works, for me, for other sticky things and tape.
The hands at the window terrified the kids on my street
You could Bluetooth the sound to outside speakers or boom box
Thank You for this video. You saved me time and money!
I subscribed to your channel, so I'll be on the lookout for that!
Freakin' Reviews Thanks buddy. Hope you like my videos.
Hi James have u figured out how to add our avi
I don't think you have to cut the paper just fold it on the sides to accommodate the windows or just buy some sheer white curtains from Goodwill
Great review! Needs to be able to use outside, that would be easier!! God bless you!
I love it but I live in a black community white Santa Claus if he could be excluded I would biy
DJalabamawomanful don't choose that one, just use the others.
Miriam you can rig it up to be waterproof outside
sounds like you need to move if they are so racist that white santa triggers them
i found that the lense open all the way gave me the best pic
Blutack might work better to hold up screen.
Thanks for the video I'll save my money ... it would be a great idea if the projector was outside
Is this projection unit for indoor use only? I ask because we have a little guy. He would never leave this alone inside. I would also want the sounds outdoors as well. Great review. Thankyou!!

Use wax paper to cover the sticky pads or maybe cling wrap?
Mine is not very bright can’t see too well from outside. Your colors much brighter than mine. Was wondering if way to make it brighter. Once lights outside for Christmas are on even lighter.
Thank you
I live in Mesquite, Nv and wanted this but now I’m not sure at least not for 60.00...thx for the review it helped me save the money...lol
You should have saved the little plastic covers to the sticky tape then you could have put them back on when you removed each one at a time
I know this comment is very late, but I wonder if putting little pieces of parchment paper on the sticky corners to store it. Wonder if it will preserve the sticky and also be easy to remove to reuse the next year.
Is there an option where you can pick any side side show that you want to just stick with... Or there is no setting and
keeps rotating?
It's funny when you say you can't even think about a solution. Just save the little tabs that you pulled off and put them back on
*maybe if you turned off the light it will show much better!*
Thank u soo much ❤❤❤
James...you could put sticky Velcro on the corners instead
Thanks for this

I paid $15 on eBay and have 18 videos. For the sound I hooked it up to a fm transmitter.
Go to the Goodwill and buy some sheer white curtains
