I was just thinking about y'all! 🥹 It will be on here on TH-cam from people's videos. Thank you for making the Man and Dog Band so memorable. I've never been there but I've seen the effort it takes to making sure each animatronic works accordingly. (I also just saw that you are a fan of The Man and Dog Show. Blessings. You have amazing taste! 🎉) Uhh-huh! Uhh-Huh! That song sticks with me. But I believe it might be bad timing for this video.
@@blackbonesmcgee Yeah these guys have apart of my life for such a long time, and really am sad but at least Andrew (one who maintains them) is first in line to get them when the pier closes
I vacationed in the summer all through the 90’s in Ocean City, that pier was a huge part of my childhood. Even though I ain’t vacationed there since 1999, the news of its closure breaks my heart. I always thought that pier would be a huge part of Ocean City throughout the rest of my lifetime. I’m definitely making sure I get out there to have one final hoorah at the pier before the end of the season.
Doesn't Gillian's Wonderland pier fall under New Jersey's historical landmark laws? Has anyone looked into the possibilities for it to have historical landmark status?
I grew up in Yonkers, N.Y., and would stay in my family's Jersey house during the summer. I visited O.C. 3 times, and it always rained! I'm sad it's going!
I can't believe this. These were the highlights of coming to the shore each summer. The place was always packed. I'm guessing insurance rates are so insane these days. My hope and prayer is that someone new buys the property and keeps it going:+) MANY years of memories when I think of this place...two pics I still have from the log ride. It's for adults too:+) God bless~
Not at all. The man said, after 94 years, it's too expensive. NJ has insane property taxes, Moreso at the beach. The problem is that the rental owners pushed the weekly prices way too high. A 2k weekly rental became a 3.5k weekly rental.. This year business is slow all over the boardwalk because of it. Most likely big rental houses will take that space.
So sad bro😢 I have a house on 17th street and we go to castaway cove but I used to come here as a little kid riding Thomas the train and I’m so fucking sad
Messed up, kids love it there. If he didn’t know how to adapt his business to the modern crowd, he should have hired the right people. What a shame. I hear it’s going to be a hotel, how awful.
Typical New Jersey nonsense, New Jersey shore is just borring. Overhyped and nothing to do. Of course this was going to close there is no fun in New Jersey.
LOL, ok. It's been there 94 years. The issue is taxes, and NJ has some of the highest property taxes. Add that it's on some of the most expensive real estate. The people that go to ocean city like it the way it is, boring as you say.
I'm so glad the place wasn't hit by J ish lightning, and burned to the ground for insurance. Those Carousel horses are going to be worth a small fortune alone.
I’ll miss this place from my childhood.
Can't believe this is happening! This place has been apart of my life for a long time!

What would take the place of this beloved amusement park?

Depressing.
Glad I got to see The Man and Dog Show and ride their Haunted House.
It actually closed I can’t believe it’s over

Goodbye Wonderland. The Mayor is corrupt Jay

This is pretty sad.
I hav thousands of tickets
LOL, the business is completely viable. No doubt the property got bought for big $ and they are going to throw a big shitty hotel there.

No. I want a new amusement park.
childhood staple…just surfed 7th st…hope someone steps in
What a shame! Would love to see a merger or something
Why can’t the state by own it and run it? .. just cause. .. like Tennessee did with Graceland…
Because the land it sits on is VALUABLE real estate.
Lots of great memories there. Sad to see it close.
I think castaway cove will stay open for next season

Gillian's Wonderland Pier Replaced by The Old Spaghetti Factory

noooooooooooooooooooooo
did you remember that on August 28, 1999 when two people was killed on Wild Wonder ride right?
People always claim how important it is and how much they loved it. But they never patronized it enough to make it last.
