It wasnt just a 1959.. It was a "Darkburst". At the time was an ultra rare color you could get them in that he sold. Slash wound up aquiring it. But it wasnt just another 1959. This one was even more valuable
come on. Everyone knows he played that beautiful red BC Rich Bich. That thing is lethal looking. Esp. in his hands. I would like to see a video of him playing the gold rush Axcess with the whammy bar. The tiger stripe was a great choice too.
And his original B.C. Rich Bich 10 string. Joe had a matching pair of Maple w/Rosewood rails Mockingbird supremes as well. Beautiful guitars - long horn~fat horns too.
This list looks like it was compiled by someone wearing a blindfold playing pin the tail on the donkey. Just randomly picking guitars. These aren't even close to his 10 best. I counted only 3 that are worthy of making this list (the 59 Les Paul, The Billie guitar and the Dan Armstrong). Missing from the list: - His 1977 10 string custom BC rich - His 1972 Black Les Paul - His 1970 White Fender Stratocaster (that was stolen right before Get your wings was recorded) - His 1971 Black Stratocaster he used on Wings (and the midnight special recordings) - His 1973 Sunburst Strat used on Toys in the attic - His 1974 Fender VI Baritone he used on Back in the saddle - His reverse headstock Fender Partscaster/Stratocaster he used for the "I got the rockin rolls again" sessions.
Besides the Ampeg these are all his newer or specialty collector guitars. How about the ones he really played a lot through the years - the worn out Telecaster and belt-sanded Strat, not to mention the BC Rich Bich with extra strings removed.
I have a short list of honorable mentions: - His 1977 10 string custom BC rich - His 1972 Black Les Paul - His 1970 White Fender Stratocaster (that was stolen right before Get your wings was recorded) - His 1971 Black Stratocaster he used on Wings (and the midnight special recordings) - His 1973 Sunburst Strat used on Toys in the attic - His 1974 Fender VI Baritone he used on Back in the saddle - His reverse headstock Fender Partscaster/Stratocaster he used for the "I got the rockin rolls again" sessions.
@chuck jones Yeah, you named pretty much the core of his "Classic" collection from the 70's, I think that reversed neck strat you listed last might be the one he refers to as the "Tele- Rat, or Tele Spoon"? Not sure.
Actually he has around 400. He sold off a bunch cause they weren’t being played. Also the list is way off!! First five are 59 Les Paul, Billie guitar, JP Black burst, JP Boneyard, cherry es335.
Hard To believe No Fender guitars are on the List. He used to Play mostly Fender Strats back in the 70’s. No White 68 Jimi Hendrix Strat. This List isn’t even right.
I'm sure you know he still has them and many Gretch's and plenty of other guitar's. I'd love to see the whole collection. That's about two weeks work I bet.
I CANNOT believe his sunburst flipped strat is not on here
I was waiting for that one too on the list
Absolutely love Joe Perry!
🤘🤘

Anthony Tyler Kesterson you’re right about it being a very valuable guitar. It’s actually a tobacco burst. And only 2 were made in 59.
Tobacco burst.

_...Lace Pauls, Fenders AND Gibsons..._
👍🤘
I gotta find me one of those Lace Pauls...
I wish the B. C. Rich mockingbird made of brazilian rosewood was on this list

video starts at 1:19
Joe Perry has somewhere near 600 guitars?! Wow! That’s great 😀😀and he has a whopping net worth of $120 million dollars that’s a lot of money 😲😮
✌🏻✌🏻

and the black custom? I always wondered what vintage that was. Probably 70's Norlin

One of the “best “
✌🏻👍🏻
Billie Joe Armstrong

Not accurate !
Lace paul
He didnt sell the Brown-burst apparently his to be ex-wife sold it! Slash went into the music shop that had acquired it and the rest is history
Mark Rushton wrong. Slash bought while on tour in Japan and had it shipped to his LA appt right after the tour.
I believe Perry wrote in his book he sold it cause he needed money to buy presents around Christmas time.
Original image may differ whahahajajaj

Oh, he's got 'em, this list is basically one of those YT Fly by Night deals, it's not going to show more than it has to.
Where's his strats??
🤔🤔
