I know I arrive a little late to the party but I have some advide, tips and corrections in case you are interested: When you were in the bandit camp, using bows and entering the menu to change weapos. You can put objects to use or equip in the quick slots for skills. They are pretty useful at the beggining of the game to save time bipassing the menus. In this case putting your halberd there you can change to it with just the push of a button. In regards to the shields conversation you had in the beach after defeating the opponent your friend flamethrowed you read the stats incorrectly. The first stats its the base damage of the shield when used as a weapon, the second is the damage to stability, the third its the bonus to stability the shield gives when you defend with it (yellow bar that appears when holding the defense button) and the last one its the durability. The steel shield has better offensive stats but its one point worse in defense and almost have the durability. Given that you are not using it as an offensive weapon the other shield would have work better for you. Also the tower shield protects from head to toe and the steel shield only core body. Most of the time doesn't matter but some enemies are able to hit legs or head, happens a lot on slopes. Hopes you have fun and keep up the good game. I remember playing this shortly after it cameout with my cousin withsplit-screen on ps4, it was great. Finding the Big purple mountian and getting lost in the mountian then sacrificing hp for mana. It was a blast.
there are some mods for this game that make quest rewards shared and some that add more skill trainers to the game like necromancy and a revolver skill trainer if that sounds like something your into

Don't understand negative comments about graphics, lol. Sure, combat might be better, but you could say the same about 95% games. Imo, kingdoms of amalur has one of the best combat systems for a RPG even to this date and it's from 2012 for God's sake. So that's saying somethng. I am happy Elden Ring surpassed all expectations and hopefully devs of other companies follow the example. I have this game, didn't play it long cuz i felt a bit lost😔 but yeah, its great if you have time to just walk around and explore, i guessbesp with friends, i played solo and that bored me a bit
I found someone who's played Kingdoms of Amalur! Anyone who's asked me what I'm playing they seemed confused about that game Lol. I'm really enjoying the game so far!! And I'm playing it on an OLED Switch though :P The combat is fun.
@@lex7185 yeah, i still play it occasionally. One of those games, like Elden Ring or Skyrim, that really give you the freedom to choose your build. I really love chakarms and daggers/faeblades 😍, spamming staff looks cool but gets a bit boring, but thats the point of the game - to switch things up mid combat, i know i unknowingly even unlocked achievement for killing 3 enemies with 3 different weapons in 5 secs.. Something like that. Story wasn't that bad either... All in all, i wish devs would focus less on graphics and more on actual gameplay aspects, but seeing the criticizm they're recieving, since people here claim these graphics are bad... I can't blame them then, to spend 80% resources on graphics and 20% just isn't enough for story+ combat+ crafting +survival or whatever... My 2 cents 😁sry a bit long comment.. 🤷♂️
Been playing this for years with my cousin on PS4. The combat needed more work, but other than that, it is still fun to play longbterm. And it is VERY hard. Truly for high fantasy, survival enthusiasts.
I kinda like the combat. you really need to know what you're doing as once you start a move in can't be canceled. there's no takebacks like in real life.

Love this game so much. I have my own qualms with it, for example I made an epic DOT build but then I found out that all the bosses are basically immune to DOT
@@teuniswouterse9860 Some of the greatest games in history have “bad graphics”. Don’t get me wrong. Visuals have a benefit, especially for immersion, but gameplay and story can make an ugly game great.

I started playing this. And made a new character to retry the beginning. And I got my house! Bur my xbox decided to die. So now I need to get it on pc. I love this game so much.
Tower shield is actually better for defense(by one point)... you were looking at damage, your current shield is better for damaging and the tower shield can block more damage.
its not defence on the shield its damage (the first stat) wich is only relevant for shield charge, the stat below is impact resitance wich is basicly how long you can hold your shield until you get staggerd. shield always block regular attacks fully so they dont have a defence stat.
The only thing I don't like about it is you can very quickly complete fully equip your character and have nothing left to do except do quests. All that's left at that point is to get technically better at the game but your character cannot actually get any stronger

the characters are ugly and movement seems at first klunky because it's realistic (instead of canceling mid-move or inhumanely agile movement). so it is a little lumbering and awkward at first, but it also gives it some weight the others don't have. once you start a swing, you're committed to it, so you better time it right. it's kinda like playing a slow two-hander in many games, but even more like that. also compared to other games there's very little change in your power level and armor from the beginning. everything will always hurt, and hurt for a long time. so the stakes are high. but it's just a lovely game. there's so much to explore, hidden locations are everywhere, and almost nothing is told to the player instead you must find it out from the world. there's a lot of crafting you do, and none of it is gated behind skills. you can find recipes, but really if you have the right ingredients it works from day 1. so it's like you actually gather the knowlegde in your head rather than have some recipe or magic book you need to gather before you can make things.
How did he get power coils at the beginning? He used the spawner lmfao! They aren’t anywhere near the beginning at ALLLLL they’re kindaaa mid game you have to travel to another location. Otherwise I am glad you’re spreading word of this amazing game!
Lol, lookup the first part of walkthrough and then say something. You have a chance to drop those power coils in the chests that are spread around first map
this game hast the ugliest characters I've ever seen, but you don't really ever look at the face after the character creation and you quickly forget. everything else I love. (and what you don't love you can mod out). outward and valheim are just wonderful compared to all the bigger games there are. it's so instantly clear how the devs actually wanted to make a game instead of somekinda marketing scam to entrap and bleed you dry.

Im glad it got a next gen release but the frame rate still stutters choppy and it shouldnt be. Its like its not true 60 fps in buildings its great but the open world is when it hits and again like the original, it sucks when your trying to fight things and the stutter cant keep up with your inputs.

dont know if you ever managed to figure this out, but i had the same problem and turns out that the problem was my friend was launching by clicking the desktop icon while i launched from steam, if you launch from desktop you automatically launch the base version fo the game instead of the definitive edition
So I've owned outward for a few years now when there were no dlc do I have to rebuy it to get them or does it upgrade because I'm on playstation and at the bottom it will show addons for the game but mine doesnt show any but if I go to the store there are 2 and the travelers bundle with the game and the 2 dlc
i never get why they make the nice looking shields have the worst stats and the ugliest looking shields the best stats like give us transmog on cosmetics so we can enjoy our character look

I kinda like the lumbering quality of it, but it's definitely different. I wouldn't say it's that difficult either, but even one hit can wound you for a long time.
Anyone know how to fix the bug that makes it so you can’t leave or enter areas and interact with stuff? I tried to close the game without letting it save but I guess it did and now I’m kinda screwed
I was having the same issue. The problem for me was I was playing the original version while my friend was playing definitive edition. If you never purchased DLC then you are playing base version (doesnt matter what steam banner says if you’re on PC) When you purchase three brothers you’ll have option of launching DE or base game when pressing play. Make sure your friend has the same DLC / Version as you do
Do not buy on console unless you want to play it twice so both players can get skillz. I would have not got this. My wife feels like a after thought and we find we have to play with her as host to get the quest skillz you can't buy wtf? This is not a true co op. This is a sonic and tails co op. Where sonic gets the goods and tails is left hanging.
To me the graphics are lacking. If I didn't see the reviews I would dismiss it as one of those scam games that employes basic assets with no art style. Hell even Valheim's visuals have more character. This looks like Gothic 2.5.
No. The fliudity of Elden rings general mechanics is night and day. The survival and more hardcore features is what hooked me in though. Apples and oranges.. but still fruit know what i mean?
Just wondering because I bought Elder Ring and I was a complete waste of my time. Yeah beautiful worlds and creatures but I felt like I was going in circles. Like whb you beat the game and just wonder around afterward
@@eliudroman1343 yeah, Outward wont be for you. It's like a more empty Elden ring but you cant fast travel or even see yourself on the map. You literally have to use landmarks from the map, find them on your screen, and then try and navigate like that. Like i said, it's basically a way less refined elden ring.

Played this when it first came out on Xbox with my best friend, using runes was pretty strong and quickly overcame almost every enemy.
Do you know if they patched a lot of the bugs? I want to play on Series X but the reviews scared me. Crashes and missing items, etc

Nobody does, you have to use the landmarks around you to figure out where you are on the map.

So is this cross play? Everything I’m seeing says it’s not even coop but that’s obviously not true anymore.
To me the graphics are lacking. If I didn't see the reviews I would dismiss it as one of those scam games that employes basic assets with no art style. Hell even Valheim's visuals have more character. This looks like Gothic 2.5.

This anything like Elden Ring
No. The fliudity of Elden rings general mechanics is night and day. The survival and more hardcore features is what hooked me in though. Apples and oranges.. but still fruit know what i mean?

Just wondering because I bought Elder Ring and I was a complete waste of my time. Yeah beautiful worlds and creatures but I felt like I was going in circles. Like whb you beat the game and just wonder around afterward
@@eliudroman1343 yeah, Outward wont be for you. It's like a more empty Elden ring but you cant fast travel or even see yourself on the map. You literally have to use landmarks from the map, find them on your screen, and then try and navigate like that. Like i said, it's basically a way less refined elden ring.
