Yeah I did Odin full might on cait sith last night after a bunch of practice . I’m still not super good with his left stick dodges… but.. I’m gonn keep practicing and think that this cait sith solo vs rulers is the finest example of rebirth mastery. Very nice job 👍
I’ve been using genji ear ring for cait sith practice - to give me a bit of extra damage at the cost of taking extra damage to place extra impact on success dodges
170 hours of this game I played and I'm just now learning that Cait Sith can cast while walking and even simultaneously perfect block if he's on the moogle.
Cait has about 10 major perks. Huge damage without spending ATB, fast stagger buildup without spending ATB (both from mounted melee attacks), also fast ATB gain with his mounted melee and mounted hold square attacks. High mobility attack (moogle fortune telling) incredibly broken buffs with slots (party resist and reraise, limit gauge/limit level boost), can perfect block while casting or doing almost anything (not moogle abilities), incredible potential to dodge with: spin that is loaded with I-frames, dodge n' dive which refunds the cost when you dodge an attack with it and gives bonus ATB and does damage, ridiculous moogle dismount which behaves much like a short range teleport. 1/6 dice rolls gives you an Aerith limit break 2, (physical invulnerability). His 1 ATB lady luck buff is the only thing that makes characters' crit weapons worth using (because crits are either low damage or low chance, you can't have both without him) His mounted state is protected from certain combo attacks like Gilgamesh's Lunar Slash (unless the damage kills the moogle and dismounts him) and he can build stagger bonus with moogle knuckle which is something that only he and Tifa can meaningfully do. Most of his perks are more effective in a full party instead of solo, especially moogle knuckle. Unfortunately his unique characteristics aren't all great. 1.) He's beyond useless without ATB. You need 1 to even get him started so he requires a precious first strike materia or chocoking's cape 2.) His moogle doesn't gain the properties of materia, notably elemental materia has no effect 3.) Falling off his moogle is the absolute most helpless any character can ever be without being statused, and all it takes to fall off is for the moogle to die while you're on him. 4.) Blocking as any other character leaves you in a not-unfavorable state, but blocking with Cait on his moogle makes the moogle take damage, and if it dies he achieves fall state even though you were blocking an attack. No one else can be punished so badly for blocking. He can do a lot of things incredibly well. But he's extremely clunky at the best of times and the moogle can be a little unpredictable as it moves around the field. I think he's a candidate for most OP character in the game, right next to Tifa, in the right hands but I think he's a little too hard to use well enough for average players to feel good about him. Especially since you can only use him in the 2nd half of the game, it's easy for players to just not give him a fair chance. He has so many hidden mechanics and details.
@@aethertruck I'm trying SO hard to complete the challenge with cait and without magics and gotter , but can't go beyond Alexander and Odin , I think I will need to use magics or don't know , also is kinda difficult for me to perfect my parry's , but I'm on one way travel to victory and need to perfect my skills or how people say this days "git gud" , your video is so inspiring for me also your words !! Thank and was super well done ! ❤
@@agustinposho6250 you are trying to complete it solo as Cait Sith? I think bahamut/titan is much harder than Odin/Alexander. Are you using magic materia and avoiding casting spells? Or are you avoiding magic materia completely?
Yes , I'm trying as Cait sith solo , and without any magic , only link elemental and fire&ice on defence to absorb damage , str up and magic up , first strike , HP up ,stagger defence to perfect my parry's , but bahamut and titan is hard also, but I'm in love with the challenge and with cait ❤️, I will try to use thunder and wind for alexander and Odin , if u got any other usefull tips it will be super appreciated
Ive been working on this fight for hours, not hardcore but casual and I had Sephiroth down to his last 5% and I forgot about being patient with my spell spamming i just didn't want to give him time to act, well I panic and ended up dying when he started to flip between affinities every 2 seconds :) Hopefully today I get it done right proper.
His elemental phases are very challenging because the moogle does not receive elemental materia bonuses. Even the Phoenix was a huge learning curve because you can no longer ignore it like with every other character. I am not proud of this win lol
@@Mercerdaniels why do you figure? I figure it must be intentional because the moogle shares stats with the cat but I don't know why they would do it this way
I experimented with removing lightning and wind+elemental and slotted in 2 luck ups to maximize crit value but in the end it was a dps loss. Strength and magic materia get more value than luck even on Cait, and nothing else in the build is optional
He's got a lot of hidden tools. I think it's a learning curve to figure him out. Like keeping track of the moogle's health. But I think he's one of the best characters in the game once you spend the time.

It is with a full party and magnify I think but the fact that it costs 1 ATB to use it really makes it almost useless in solo imo. Especially with so few materia slots

I felt I needed to. I should have died 5 times over but kept getting lucky. Winning the slots made me feel a little better about the cheap win lol

nah, the fight is designed okay. whats frustrating is not being able to practice gilgamesh or sephy in a seperate trial...

No idea how you have the patience. Caits legendary took me 7 hours to complete... never using him again xD
