    To me it seems fairly clear. This is either a C'tan shard or an avatar of the wider Necron Pylon structure, that kept the galaxy together before Abaddon ripped it up.

    It might be a/the Biotransferance-engine. AKA - The thing that turned Necrontyr into the current Necrons, It might have tried to necrofy the Techpriest and failed as he was a human and thus a creation of the old ones.

    • @davidlister7590
      @davidlister7590 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That is not likely the C`tan at that point likely did not know about the warp or just to avoid it since it hurts them so not likely to build anything that makes use of it.

    • @Nervete
      @Nervete ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Also as an aside, I believe it's implied by the existance of Necrontyr DNA within humanity that humans were not made by the old ones. One theory I like is the idea that humans were made by the Necrons to counter the Eldar or to mock them.

    Sounds like it might be a part of the burning one c'tan, with all the burning up from the inside and afaik he was the c'tan making the dolmen gates to break into the webway. Fits all together.

    If this is a cultural reference to the Colossus of Rhodes, what was the function of that statue? I believe it marked the enteyway through a safe channel away from sharp rocks, sail between his legs and you were okay. It makes me wonder if this Colossus marks another type of passage.

    Sounds to me like maybe the Necron were trying to make their own anti-chaos god, someone to rival the four Ruinous Powers, likely in an attempt to tame and perhaps even finally destroy their one great weakness.

    I expect its a Necron Pylon Anchor point and worked with the Pylons to hold the warp in check and with out them its now been cut lose to float around. I would think the Pylons was not one side IE you can not have them in real space to seal the warp you needed something the other side to work as an Anchor point to lock on with to enable them to seal/hold the warp tear in place.

    It's an old one that was pierced with Blackstone just like Naruto was in a fight with pain. Except the old one is basically the emperor but hold the warp back instead of illuminating it.

    It’d be interesting if it were revealed that the Old Ones were the aggressors and the Necrontyr were forced to sell themselves to the C’tan to survive

    • @HgHg-yp6ft
      @HgHg-yp6ft ปีที่แล้ว

      The way this erm... franchise is run everything is possible... Maybe the Old Ones discoreved the C’tans first and saw them as the only possible threat to their galactic dominance and the Necrontyr seeing this made their move to contact the star gods in a desperate attempt to counter the Old Ones.

    • @dr.feelgoodmalusphillips2475
      @dr.feelgoodmalusphillips2475 ปีที่แล้ว

      @HgHg-yp6ft It was basically stated way before that the Necrontyr due to their unstable evolutionary chain thanks to their redoactive sun were desperate to save their live cycle and stumbled on the old ones and Eldar and became envious of them and then attacked them to understand and unlock the secrets of immortality which backfired horribly and then turned to their gas giants and stars and using their advanced technology made the C'tan in which case they get tricked and biotransfer but the most important thing to know is the Necrontyr attacked first and were spiteful envious bastards unlike the retcon which paints them as sympathetic and now the Old Ones as villians. Christ not everything has to be morally grey.

    One question I have is 'what were the pylons originally created for?' In the first "Dawn of Fire" book, Guilliman describes this line of pylons possibly holding back the warp and that the connection between mass and the thinness of the warp / material membrane. The big question that game to mind is: why? The fall of the Eldar happened much more recently than the pylon's construction. So it must have been something else.

    Interesting point about this perhaps not being the first time the galaxy has had the immaterium flood into the materium. With the old ones being the OG psykers, and if I remember correctly the chaos gods not existing before the war in heaven, merging the two for a power boost in the war may have seemed like a win/win for them.

      I mean, when you consider it was their reluctance to aid the Necrons when they were still fresh and blood that pushed them towards the C'tan... And they made races like the Eldar and Korks/Orks... Yeah, I'd say they at the very least share in the blame.

    I think it would be interesting if its what they used to shatter the C'tan INTO the shards. Turning the C'tan from the masters to the servents though this thing. Would be hilarious if they figured out how to make such creatures from the Eldar.

    A thought and this one is out there. Could it be an Aeldari and or Old Ones related construction? Hear me out. The only other things that we have ever hear described as being made of metal and black stone are the Blackstone Fortresses. The Blackstone Fortresses are also know to the Aeldari as the Talismans of Vaul. Could this be another creation of Vaul leftover from the war in heaven? Could this be the remains of Vaul himself adrift in the warp and having been reused and or perverted by the Necrons in some way to try to restore the divide with the warp? Could this be the remains of an old one or perhaps one of their creations that the Necrons have reused? Regardless I'm hoping that this leads somewhere fun.
