Thank you so much. Hopefully I can put some more time in over the next few months to get the fit right. I'd really like a pair of pants that fit well. I'm looking forward to using the pink top stitching thread too😊. Have a lovely weekend ❤ ❤
You did a wonderful job on all your denim makes Katrina, so brave for tackling jeans on a deadline. I love a good denim shirt in my wardrobe because they are so versatile and I hope to tackle one in the future. Your doggo looks so handsome. Although I didn't participate in the denim challenge, I've enjoyed following along and thank you for all the hard work that each of the Oz sewists put in. I really enjoy the Aussie content for us Aussie sewists.❤
Thank you so much for watching. Your support means so much. Yes, I did wonder if making jeans was the best idea. I very much am looking for to making whatever I feel like next😄. Thanks so much for following along. Have a great weekend ❤
You did get a lot done, I'm glad you're feeling better! You've done a good job on the jeans, and yep, a baste first to try them on is totally worth it 😉 the shirt's really pretty! I did get my denim jeans skirt posted this afternoon, still to chilly to wear it haha. Thanks for the challenge!
Thank you so much for your support. I'm yet to post my items. I'm so glad you got your up. It's just wonderful to see all the amazing work people have done for this challenge. I really am feeling the love from our community🥰. Good Luck. Thank you so much for joining me.❤❤
Thanks for the challenge, I did make two pairs of jeans the Blakey Stretch Jeans by Stylearc and the Ash jeans by Megan Neilson, both really good makes , I didn’t take pics and forgot to enter. However, I appreciate the challenge as it got me motivated to sew jeans…. Thank you
Oh no! It's so good you got them made. You did better than me. I still hope to make my jeans in the future. Right now I'm looking forward to making all the "not" denim things😆😆. Hope you have a lovely weekend and lots of sewing time.
Hi could you make the little skirt opening at the front with buttons & buttonholes then you could get it over her hips & then put the elastic in to bring the waist in?? Love all your makes.
Actually I have been wondering about this. I haven't had a chance to get back into my Sew room thus week but that is definitely something I'd like to look into. Thanks so much for a great suggestion. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Lovely video! Thank you for the Denim Challenge! I’m so impressed with your attempt at jeans and totally agree that it might be less stressful to make a pair without a deadline. Your shirt is wonderful and I’m sure you’ll get a lot of wear out of it. I am also a huge fan of Sarah Hearts labels! Your sweet dog looks great in his jacket. 💖🐶
Hey Katrina, that shirts looks nice. I’ve never been able to tie a knot! I think you need a specific style. I’d love to be able too. Plus I’m short waisted so looks BAD on me 🥲 You’re a good dog mumma, making a coat … When we didn’t understand something and mum would do this too. We would get someone to read it to us! Dad would read to mum and Mr Christopher to me. Sometimes GO WITH YOUR GUT! 💖🦩💕🦩💖💕
Thank you. Yes I probably needed to get my daughter to read it too me. I still am not 100%. I feel like my brain is not working properly since I was sick. I just kept leaving it and taking a break. Oh well. I got there in the end. Thank you so much for watching. Have a lovely weekend ❤
I’ve had the same this week - not been feeling the greatest. I started a new job two weeks ago and didn’t anticipate how tired I’d be from working everyday plus doing mum things and spending my life driving people around. I have cut a pair of jeans for my youngest daughter and a pair of Dawn jeans for myself but they are far from finished. I started off with grand plans because I had no job in April and thought I had all the time in the world! Jeans can be time consuming but the more you make them the faster you’ll get. I had all the plans! I’m still going to make them but I had planned to make the Jude jeans, a denim Auburn blazer (Cashmerette) and the Tatum dress from Style arc along with the Dawn jeans and the Carlisle teen jeans from Style arc that I’ve already started. I do love working with denim so when you run the challenge again, I’ll be sure to be more organised. I’m working on developing a sewing schedule so that I can actually get to sew. My line of work can be quite stressful so having sone downtime is critical.
I hope you get some free time soon to enjoy all those amazing projects. It's just not a great time if year for both of us it seems. Hopefully you work out your new routine soon and get some fun sewing time. I hope your sewing goes smoothly. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Your dog coat is so cute! And your shirt is perfect. I am rubbish at completing challenges. I so wanted to support you and the The Sewists of Oz, but alas, I did not. Maybe next year.
Thank you so much. It's really nice to have you following along. I completely understand about challenges. It can be added pressure. Thank you for joining and watching. That is support in It's self. Have a lovely weekend ❤ ❤
Fabulous shirt Katrina, that will be handy in this weather, a shame the skirt didn’t fit your daughter as that is great pattern, I used that pattern for my granddaughters after I saw yours. Lots have posted to instagram for sew autumn denim 2024 which is great, happy sewing, Deb
Isn't it so exciting to see all the beautiful projects on Instagram. I am just so thrilled with how much work everyone has put in. I'm looking forward to getting some free time to work out what I did wrong with my daughters skirt. It seem like such a rookie error. I hope you have a lovely weekend away. Can't wait to chat next week ❤❤
Love your shirt I love the darker denim actually. You'll get ton of wear out of it I reckon. So good working with denim isnt it? Great job. With your jeans make, dont stress about not getting it finished for the challenge, it's been a good experience all the same. ❤❤
It's been great working with denim. Very stable and easy to work with. I'm happy I got something finished. I'm looking forward to watching your video. Hope you get a lovely week with some crafty time❤❤
Oh, I am so sorry that you guys got sick! It's a bummer. I have never attempted to make pants, but I rarely wear pants. So it would only be short in the house, very long shorts, ha ha ha.
I wish I was like you. I love dresses but I just can cope with all that fabric around me. I get home and comfy trackies it is. I will persist in my own time to make pants eventually. Thank you so much for joining us. Have a lovely weekend ❤
@@ZeldaSews 😆 Trackies are track pants or sweat pants, maybe joggers. Hopefully some of those terms make sence. Aussies often shorten everything. My partner would probably call them something much more crass or rude. I didn't even know a lot of these words until I moved to the city. My grandparents were from England so my family sometimes say words which sound a touch UK English. I didn't realise til my partner pointed it out😆.
Love your honesty when things go wrong . Your shirt is super 🇦🇺💗
Thank you so much ❤
👏🏻👗
Love your shirt ……👔🇦🇺
Thank you so much ❤ 💓
Your shirt was so lovely and your jeans were so neatly made

@create_something_pretty You are so welcome! Okay, here's a question... What are trackies?
