Several videos in a few days and it came from one trip? Yes please! Wished I waited for the DJI pocket 2 but I got my mom the 360 camera for her driving/walking videos. Maybe in a few years I can upgrade her to whatever DJI pocket is available.
I have the Pocket 1, use it mostly for roadtrips and timelapses. Sometimes I just want stable video and don’t want to use my iPhone, Osmo Mobile and Moment lenses (no offense 😂). The Pocket is ready to go at a any time.

I like there is zoom and a wide angle so you can simulate different focal lengths to tell a better story. With gopro's and even the original pocket, the fixed focal length, I've always felt I wasn't telling a good story.
Nice. I have noticed overexposure in auto mode on other sample footage. Darkening a bit with exposure compensation would also help. My Pocket 2 is coming soon! Have loved my Osmo Pocket 1
Would be dope if you all managed to come up with an anamorphic thingy on par with the phone one you all make. The ones currently available are pretty meh.

I noticed a fair amount of compression artifacts. How much of that is the camera's settings and how much of that is from the good old TH-cam compressions? Sidebar, friggin loved the nail polish. Just to say.

It's also worth noting that there's several limitations when shooting in 4k or with certain modes: Slo-mo is only 1080p, Active-Track is only available in 4k below 30 fps, etc. There's also a flat colour mode, not sure if it actually provides more dynamic range. Also the wireless mic has an 3.5mm jack that allows you to use another lav.
Good review, but I really wish you did more comparisons to the first Osmo Pocket. It's the only other pocket-sized camera with a gimbal, so it seems like an obvious subject to talk about. It would be nice to know how this is better/worse than the previous version. Many of the features discussed are exactly the same or incredibly similar to the first version, so there is not a lot of new information. Still, it's a decent review. There are other comparison videos on youtube. It has a wider field of view than the original, wider aperture which allows for better low light performance and slightly shallower depth of field. The sensor is also a bit larger than the original which helps with dynamic range and low light performance.

We use the first iteration of the camera at work (a local television station ). It’s super handy because we can shoot professional grade footage with just this camera and a Zoom for audio. Of course it doesn’t replace the capabilities of our cinematic cameras for when we shoot documentaries or when we need depth of field, motion blur etc for the more artsy look, but it has its uses.

I’m curios, what mode of the Volkswagen Van does Caleb (?) drive? It’s so majestic + nostalgic back to the 80s. 😍 But as for this video, the DJI Pocket 2 feels very unique for B roll & compact form fact, but I feel like it’s still limited in function since you can’t trigger manual shooting mode, and Insta360’s lineup of compact video cameras are as attractive as ever w/ functionality, especially the modular Insta360 OneR.
If you review your Video, you will notice that in some parts of your video, you are holding the base of the Camera with your right hand and severely shaking the camera gimbal every time you speak. Your Camera gimbal is a delicate piece of engineering that may not be able to handle excessive motion. No disrespect. I liked your video very much and will probably purchase the filter like you described. Cheers

If you put a ND filter on you can slow down the shutterspeed of the photos in the timelapse to get the motion blur you want...

3:00 So you can get ND filters for these and you can use pro mode to shoot with manual controls so you get that buttery smooth blur motion. FYI

I think it will do great on Northern Lights. I had Pocket 1. It did ok in time lapse in strong lights. This one feels much better.
