U.G. once said of Rudolf Steiner that, "I knew him very well . . . we never got along well", but Steiner died when U.G. was a boy of just six years of age.
Why did U.G. lie about this?

You heard wrong because the interviewer mentions Rudolf but U.G. says and refers to Jiddu Krishnamurti ("J Krishnamurti who started so many schools...") and refers to him as the one he knew. No lying.

Just the same, I maintain that U.G. was just as much of a fraud as anyone he ever criticized. "If you see the Buddha, kill the Buddha" ;)
