How To Fish A Tube: Everything You Need To Know! **GIANT Smallmouth Caught!**

- A Tube will catch everything that swims! When you know how to use the different tube styles and sizes, heads, hooks, and colors, the tube becomes incredibly adaptable! They work all year long no matter how shallow or deep you're fishing. Today Matt and CC put them to work on a pile of 4-6 lb Smallmouth in crystal clear water and take the time to teach you every detail of the technique along the way.
Despite its effectiveness the tube is often overlooked by anglers. Its not as popular as the dropshot or ned rig but if forget to throw it, you're missing an incredible opportunity! When you learn to mix it in with the other baits it becomes even more effective. Today Matt and CC implemented stubby tubes, heavy wire hooks, and when the bite slowed, mixed in a ned rig to make sure they weren't leaving any fish behind.

The BEST head we've found for a stout (but small) hook! The 1/0 is perfect for 2.5" tubes, the 2/0 is perfect for all standard tubes/double dip tubes, and a 3/0 is a great pairing for full size 4" tubes. Again this is a small hook but heavy wire. You can still set it with standard spinning tackle but there is no fear of ever bending it out on a fish. If you know you're around big fish, this is the head.

This has been my favorite tube head for years. Its narrow enough to fit in any tube and has an excellent medium wire hook.

This head is small for its size due to tungsten's density so its easier to fit it into various tubes than its lead counterparts. Its an EWG-style hook, not a round bend. Some anglers prefer one style over another, we've been experimenting with EWG this past year.

So cool to see the family out with you!! Can’t wait for this!! After trying for years and feeling like it wasn’t ever gonna happen...my girl and I finally had our first kid last April!! He’s the coolest little dude in the world and already loves everything that I do...so once he gets a little older I’m positive he’s gonna be out there with me learning to love fishing as much as I do!! I’ve already gotten all 8 of my nieces and nephews into it...they range from 6-22 years old and they all still fish with me and by themselves all the time, so I’m sure my son will be no different!! And even days when I’m not able to get away from work, his older cousins will be able to take him...so even the days I’m not there they can help to teach him the things I’ve taught them!! Gotta love it!!

Fish in Alabama or Tennessee and then see if you will. They have all 3 types of bass and giants in all three. The Coosa river spotted bass are the meanest, hardest fighting bass in the country. Even smallies can't compete with them and I've caught them all

I crack tubes and or put them on dropshots besides regular bottom fishing a tube.
Fishing tubes for bass quickly became one of my best confidence baits thanks to a fishing buddy of mine. Do you ever Texas rig them? Curious since you didn't mention it. That's my go-to setup when tubing for bass in any kind of structure

Ant tips for using braid on spinning gear like what pound test and if what color of braided line matter's
They’ve done a few videos strictly about line choices. Not sure if they mentioned braid on spinning gear specifically but there was definitely a ton of good info in the videos I saw.
Pretty sure they fish braid more often than not, but usually with a fluoro leader or in certain situations a mono leader, but your best bet would be to just search their channel for the line choice videos and check them out, they’re definitely worth the watch!! Good luck out there brotha!!
It depends where your fishing, clear water, chocolate milk water, what you’re targeting, what size reel, what size rod, is there a lot of structure there’s a lot of variables that can change what line to use. Also another thing to consider is castability an 8lb test line will cast a lot further than a 30 lb line so I always go with the lowest I can get away with depending on what I’m fishing and where.

I woke up this morning knowing I was going to fish a clear water lake that is highly pressured with both smallmouth and largemouth. I was planning on fishing a tube and when I woke up and saw this video I thought I had summoned you!

I been using the missle baits micro jig and the strike king baby ztoo on a ned head. Bites are very few but it's usually a 🐖 when they do bite
