I wish I could like this video more than once. I have been on an emotional eating streak since April, and I've felt like a bottomless pit. I made a conscience effort to get back on track, starting August 1. I'm 3 days in, and so far so good... so I'll say, "That went well." Thank you again Dr Becky!
Julie -same!!!! Today is my birthday...the big SIX-FIVE!! I've already been strict keto for 2 years and so glad. But, lately been overdoing even KETO SNACKING!!! 🙄 so I figured now is a good time for a re-set!!
I can't wait to share this with my two best friends... We have each been diagnosed with Type2 diabetes in the last year & your videos have been so helpful on this new journey. One change I will make employing this great teaching from you is I'm going to encourage us to say 'Thank you Jesus' instead of 'that went well.' Thanks for giving us the wisdom, guidance & tools to make our way through life well.
@@annecollins1470 I have been able to get off all the meds for T2d... it CAN BE DONE!!! My labs are better all around than I've seen in the last 20 years!!!
Thanks for addressing a topic that so many other experts, like Dr. Fung, tend to ignore (maybe because of lack of personal experience?). I think it’s really important to understand the difference between “hunger” and “urge to eat”. Very little of my extra weight came from eating that happened when I was actually hungry.
I have improved my eating over the last 4 years and i also give myself positive affirmations as my day goes by. Once you change your mindset then things get much much easier. Thank You for everything you do to help us get thru our lifestyle changes.
"That went well" it's a great strategy to avoid emotional eating; it can also be used by many people who have tendency to complain all the time. If only people realize how many good things happen in their life every day their cortisol level would also go down and weight loss with it. Great video Dr. Becky
I make vege lentil and meat bone soups in the slow cooker. Having portion sized frozen soup available has become my go-to during the tougher emotional times. I feel better knowing that it's healthier than junk food, even though it doesn't deal with comfort eating per se.
Well, that went well. As soon as I opened my IPad this morning, it alerted me that you’re vídeo was ready for me to watch. It was as usual full of excellent advise that you present in such a soothing, intelligent, professional and pleasing way. Thank you. I’m so glad that I have found you’re channel.
You had me at "...computer update taking too long..."! UGH! But I will add "That went well" to my daily encouragements. The one that has been really turning things around, especially when the computer is updating or I can't eat what I'm craving, is to ask myself, "What else can I do?" or "What can I do instead?". I find there's always something positive I can engage with and once I've started on that instead of the thing I couldn't do, the craving passes. Thanks again, Dr. Becky, for the encouragement!
I hear you Dr. Becky! It's also important to check into how you're feeling at the moment mindless, self-medication (emotional eating) seems like the best option. Acknowledging the feelings in real time and processing and being gentle with oneself is very important. "Emotional Eating" is only a diversion from avoiding the sensations of feeling. We can't be happy all the time, but the sun always comes out after the storm. Stay present in the moment and I wish folks mindfulness on their journey!!
Always great information Dr Becky. Emotional eating is real!! (I have a tendency sometimes to not chew my food properly, it’s not like I have a pack of wolves around me fighting for food. I am trying to remind myself to SLOW DOWN & properly chew my food). I pray Dr Keith is mending well. God bless 🙏 you both. Love from Canada.
I resonate with reframing things … my coach once said… “you’re a hard worker” vs my thoughts which were I’m a horrible desperate overweight person chasing an unattainable goal. Reframing works. Being triggered and reaching for habit comfort eating foods is redirectable for me for the first few times. Then I am left with a building anxiety. This is the element that changing my behavior and thoughts ..: which I’m completely capable of… that isn’t addressed. I haven’t found anything that immediately reduces the stress or even really just fends it off.. as well as eating. I can’t exercise at the office, I can’t talk on the phone with a trusted friend at a moments notice, I can’t take a long walk while taking care of my small children. Etc etc. if there is a structured thought exercise, list of questions, a 30 second protocol I can follow.. I’d love to adopt that into my toolbox for the anxiety that grows exponentially. Thank you for this video. :)
Great refreshment for me. I intermittent fast daily 20hr + and it helps. I am also finally 100% sugar free for 6 months. I have to constantly ask myself ... are you hungry or upset? I make a lot of improvements to choose health over instant gratification. It is not easy journey but I keep going and keep my eyes on health benefits rewards. One think really helped me to daily meditate and journal. Thank you!!
I needed this! I lost weight and was feeling good! Im a teacher and was have been taking care of my Mom over the Summer and I find myself eating my feelings! Smh So everything I lost has been gained back in less than 1 month! Smh
Thank you so much. That definitely went well that I watched this today 😊 God is good 🙏. Thank you Becky I'm glad I have your videos to watch and can rewatch when I need a reminder. It helps me to remember to be tougher on myself by being more kind to myself. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks again Dr. Becky. You have no idea how much you have helped me. Today I have reached my weight goal. I have lost 15 kilos This went WELL! Thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing on emotional eating. This is why I fell off the Keto wagon and got drug in the dirt for 6 months. I needed to hear this so much❤️
Thank you Dr. Becky. I appreciate yr nuanced contrast between gratitude and acknowledging what is working. I needed that tip. Blessings to you and Keith.
I have implemented adding protein, fat and fiber to my meals and it has empowered me to stop the snacking between meals. That’s been an easy way to say NO to the three C’s. That went well! Thank you for the encouragement. Continued concern and prayers for your blessed family🙏🏻
I have been so encouraged and helped by all your videos! Down about 15 lbs and not giving up even though I've plateaued for the past month. My husband and I are on this journey together and find both your youtube channels very informative and motivating. Thank you and God Bless!
Great video, best one I’ve seen on this topic so thank you. If I don’t get good quality sleep I find myself reaching for the 3 Cs to give me the ‘energy’ I need to get through a day. Even with intermittent fasting I found that in the eating window I was overeating the high fat (healthy) foods and as My aim is to be healthy and lose weight I wasn’t sure if reaching for these high fat healthy foods would then add weight or prevent me from losing the weight. Any guidance on this gratefully received!
I can remember happiness. It’s gone now and I resent it. I didn’t ask for much. I used to be able to enjoy a sweet warm comforting cup of coffee. Now I ‘m left with bitter blackness. I’m thinner, healthier and miserable without comfort. I don’t enjoy the taste of much anymore not even the sweetness that formally comforted me. I ‘ll likely live a greater number of days; additional comfortless days to look forward to. I had to do it thought or alternatively face a long, slow painful death. I guess the moral is, you 'll lose more than you bargained for by losing but your loss may be greater if you don’t lose. Damned if you do. Damned if you don’t.
I do need to focus on the positives. I t has taken me 16 weeks to lose 10 pounds. Not as much as others who have done intermittent fasting. Yet I keep going. With some slip ups. I guess I should say " That went well". With even little losses. It seems like this is taking forever.
Hello Doctor, may I ask, are you censoring certain words regarding posted comments here? If you are or YT is responsible, it's being way overdone! I've tried 6 times to post a comment here and every time it's disappeared. I see I have now been able to post just a brief message after many attempts. Just letting you know, Thanks
I agree with you but hat is easier said than done as I eat just to eat. It’s easy for one to say not to eat unless you are truely hungry and/or when not already full. The problem comes with a large person that we do not eat because we are hungry, we eat to eat, either because the clock says it’s time to eat or because something else happened/didn’t happen ie emotional eating. How do one stop that feeling?? I’ve lost 60 pounds, gained back 15 just because of emotional eating, so depressing and makes me not care even when I’ve had a good day and still want to eat.
This is excellent advice....instead of I am an emotional eater, you say, "That went well." Also to use that when things in your life are making you crazy, instead of getting yourself worked up, say "that went well." In this situation I would say it extremely sarcastic. Lol. 😂🤣 Thank you for this. I hope and pray Keith is doing well. I miss him and you on 2 Fit Docs.

I love keto so far 7 weeks in . The struggle is comfort eating. The hand to mouth problem. I will continue with keto.
