Yes, lots of memories attached to TV Series you watched with your Mum, Dad, Grandma or Grandad; when my Daughters were younger we used to watch "Life on Mars" the original British not the American one, that was in 2006 (18 years ago) when they were 10 and 12 now 27 and 29 how the time has flown.
I wish they had the Lincoln for that model year. The Caddy Coupe Deville convertible was cool, but the Lincoln Mark IV was HIS car. I think the Lincoln Continental Mark VI came out that year.
Cannon, Barnaby Jones, Quincy ME, Vega$, Kojak, Baretta, Starsky and Hutch, The Rockford Files, Charlie's Angels, and Police Woman were THE top tier detective/cop dramas of the 1970s! These were shows your dad watched that you ended up getting hooked on. R. I.P. William Conrad.
I really liked Cannon episodes I wish they were available on TH-cam. This was a very good movie. I just wished that Cannon had gotten the girl at the end. He was a nice guy and excellent private investigator. He should not have to be alone at the end. Bittersweet. William Conrad you are well missed. A great blast from the past. 😊
a) I think Cannon never got over losing his wife and son, and b) by this time in his life, he knew he wasn't typical husband material anymore. (Yes, I know he's a just a TV character!)
@@sdstewart1962 Agree but he could have a friend not always someone's else's even so just a friend to take that long ride at end of every picture down every long highway sooner or later.
🎉 Very Grateful for the Upload of this William Conrad Movie, thoroughly enjoyed watching ALL the other Actors involved in bringing together an Awesome story throughout the whole time - Again, Thank You. 🎉
Good story by writer James Buchanan. Frank Cannon has consistently been a great character, and William Conrad was stellar in portraying him. Adding extra bits of difficulties and conflict, like with that one accusatory cop, helps to keep the story engaging. In my stories, however, I like to include showing the protagonist's satisfactory victory over even the extra conflict brought about by tertiary characters, like that cop. What can I say? It would be satisfying to viewers to see Frank rub it in his face about how wrong he was... wrong to the point of making it more difficult for our main character's successful resolution as he brought truth to light. Thumbs up!
Sheldonbass agree 100%. I was REALLY hoping those Keystone Cops who dropped the ball and bungled the case were going to show up at the end and sheepishly apologize while Cannon gave them his thousand-yard stare LOL😅.
Cannon was and is a great show , William Conrad is the reason why Seems funny watching him drive the caddy instead of the Lincoln I watch the reruns too
WC was army fighter pilot during WW2. Ck him out in the classic "Sorry, Wrong Number," with Burt Lancaster, and Barbara Stanwyck. WC plays a gangster in this movie. Also ck out WC in "The Naked Jungle," with Charlton Heston, and Eleanor Parker. Another good flick.
The story upon which that is based is called Leiningen Versus The Ants. William Conrad played the lead role of Leiningen in three different productions of it on the radio! I've no doubt at least one of them is here on TH-cam, it's truer to this original story (the stuff about the mail order bride was added for the film), and it's worth a listen.
To Don Moore. Tks 4 ur reply. I feel the same way U feel Abt the TV series Cannon, and WC. Also, ck out WC as Marshall Matt Dillion, in the radio version of Gun Smoke. And WC in Johnny Concho, with Frank Sinatra. WC plays a gunman who takes over the town where FS lives. It is a good Western, IMHO.😊
Good memories, one good thing with 1970/80 detective series was the music dubbed on by an orchestra viewing the film. Rockford file intro was my favourite and Quincy Jones not forgetting the theme to 'Shaft' Thanks posting and the happy comments.
I'm surprised he never recorded any albums with that wonderful voice. Back in the day it seemed like most everyone recorded some kind of Christmas favorites album. Come Christmas time we'd stack them up on the record player while decorating lol...good times.
1980 was awesome, Wild Wild West also made a comeback TV Movie that year! William Conrad also voiced the Buck Roger’s intro at about the same time. Oh it was a glorious period! RIP to everyone
I saw this a few years ago, and enjoyed it very much, as I did again this time. The bit I like best though, is just how much fun that woman seems to be having scooting that trolley along at 22:56!

They should make movies like this again. The great Quinn Martin a genius at these shows. Sag/after should make better movies and produce better actors if they want more money. Actors these days are all washed up. Shows like CSI, Chicago Fire, NCIS,....all have drab backgrounds and dark settings, like it's raining all the time. No jokes, or mild humor. These actors are portraying themselves as know it all's, and are d@@ks to each other. Bad acting, completely sucks. Pilot episode featured 1970 Lincoln Continental. First season was a 1971 Mark III; then each new season featured a new Mark IV. So approximately 6 Lincolns
If only William Conrad had been born into a different body, he could have made the transition from Matt Dillon on the radio (excellent, must have a listen to OTR on YT) to the TV Matt Dillion. Conrad had the voice the talent but not the body for the TV series.
William Conrad had one of the greatest voices in the golden days of radio.
Thanks for your comment. I was just watching a lot of “Fugitive” episodes on DVD . 👍
He had a very strong and authoritarian voice yet empathetic at the same time.
It sounded different on Gunsmoke! Got lower by the time he did Cannon.
Narrated 'Rocky and Bullwinkle" as well.
And a fighter pilot and a war hero.😊
The original Cannon I used to watch with my Dad as a kid, I loved those nights. RIP Dad🙏
