I used to have the video cassette of these awesome stop motion animated stories and watched it so much that I could recite all of the music from each one without missing a note or beat. Of course I only remember the well-known parts of the music but seeing these on TH-cam bought the nostalgia back.
I have never seen this version and I'd danced almost 5 years of it in the 80s !!! Love the music, did the ballet, choreographed it for the ice. This is SPECTACULAR!!! My goodness, I'm 45 and thought I'd seen every version. A simple search for my friend's puppetry work brought me to this!!! I love it!!! Thanks for posting. After a bad week of illness and my chronic pain, I needed this. I listen to Tchaikovsky year-round, so this is perfect! xoxo
Ha-a-ah-haha, my Jesus Christ, I've been looking for this for years and years. What a find. I can't believe it. I was beginning to think it was something I cooked up in a childhood fever dream. Thanks so much for the upload, and for helping me complete this ancient sidequest. I wish you health and prosperity, and if there's any sweet, old, long-lost thing you're searching for, may you find it and may it make you very happy.
paonkero there were several stories on the vhs the nutcracker ...copelia ...patroushka and sleeping beauty this being my favourite i loved this when i saw this at school back in the early 80 s the detail and puppets are just stunning

If you still have this tape, would you ever consider uploading Petrushka? It was on BBC's Musical Tales Vol. 1 along with this video and I've been desperately searching for it for years.
People might not like it because how old it is but I like it the faces are a little bit creepy but it’s great maybe I’ll make an animated version one day
Absolutely brilliant, I remember watching these beautiful shows as a child at school. Thank you

I love how the children look like little ladies and gentlemen. 😊
I love the stop motion/ puppet work. It almost gives it a dark but surreal feel.
