Hyderabad. August, 1948 is a 37 minute documentary in the Urdu language.
It recollects the events leading to the accession of the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad to the Democratic, republic of India.
The slaughter of the charismatic 28 year old Shoebullah Khan, editor of the Urdu daily Imroose, by the 'Razakars', is a poignant memory of those tumultuous days.
The documentary was conceived, researched, scripted, edited, presented and produced by Divakar S Natarajan.
Though commissioned by Doordarshan, and well received critically, Divakar was not allowed another commission or assignment by India's state broadcaster.
Every political, judicial, constitutional and other authority, that is charged to protect citizens and society acted maliciously or failed severely.
