Beautiful. I'm going to buy a black C7 like that only convertible.Cant wait till spring..My C6 had paddle shift and it was the first auto I ever owned but I would do it again in a heart beat. Dont like being stuck in traffic with a standard clutch anymore..lol
I'm with you 100% regarding the manual transmission. I don't drive in parades, so I'll never want a Corvette with an automatic. It's a shame the C8 is automatic only. Upgrade your shifter to the MGW once you get a chance. Well worth it, IMO.
This car is hardcore, I was thinking that this was a ZO6 because I forgot that the title said Grandsport, because this engine sounded very strong. I bow to the guys who can handle 500, 600 700 HP cars. "Not much of an interior in this thing" - a real sports car driver doesn't care about luxury
Awesome vette. The black is a hard colour to keep but when it is kept it looks stunning , just enough red and silver to keep it classy. Great car and you inspired me to own one.
That's a sick looking beast for sure. I was a diehard manual fan too. Had driven various "automated manual" cars, and always felt let down. Things like BMW's SMG gearbox, Porshe's Triptronic, Ferrari's F1 setup, etc. They all sucked. But then I drove a 2019 GT3RS with the PDK dual clutch unit. For the first time ever, I thought, "I can't believe it. This thing actually does exactly what it's supposed to do, exactly when it's supposed to do it, exactly the way I would do it if I could, but even faster and without ever making a mistake." I wouldn't say I converted, but at least I finally accepted. It's magical.
@xtnuser5338 ya dual clutch is the score setter. But I will pick any of those 3 over a manual. I just drove too many manuals as a kid growing up in Africa. Manual was standard issue in everything. Was easier to get v12 6 speed manual land cruisers than autos.
I have a 18 C7 with 7 speed manual. I absolutely love driving a sports car with a manual. The only complaint would be 6-7 are pretty useless unless your going over 100 mph. Love the rev match on down shifts. The car will match the RPMs perfectly. Making downshifts quick and seamless. Making going into corners a blast. And man does it hug those corners!!!
I have 19 lt2 gs m7 also and I bet we both bought it from the same big dealer back east. Personal advice - throw the MGW short throw shifter in it - cleans up the gates and makes the shifts more “mechanical”. Seriously - an excellent mod.
wow..i have the same car..mine is an 18..with an automatic trans...1-quest...mine has the same wheels..but it has a red stripe around the perimeter of the wheel...was it only on the 18 model???
1 thing i did..was lowwer the front n rear suspension..it now has aprox. half of the distance from tire to fender..looks so much nicer...do not notice it scrapping much more if any..
He's just being humble doesn't wanna brag. My friend has a GS. That thing, from 40 roll to like 130ish it's the fastest stock production gas N/A car imo. He's never lost a roll race to anything!
How is it a black on black? Doesn't that indicate you have a black cloth top with a black body? You cannot mean black exterior with a black interior. Your interior looks red.

Try the zl1 with 10 speed auto. You won't even miss a manual ever again!
@@2024hekyeah Have tried it. It's very impressive, but still doesn't quite feel like PDK, or even like the C8's dual clutch.

The c8 looks better on the inside but the overall c7 is still better for me going on 6 months with my 191ltgs

The red stripe on the wheel was an option for all the C7 Grand Sport years I believe. I wish mine had that!
