Chronological Order (may be some spoilers ahead if you haven't finished the game):
    1. Mythal asks Solas to leave the fade and become physical, Solas warns Mythal that using Lyrium is creating issues with the Titans, but being a good "lap dog" follows her to the real world.
    2. There he crafts a dagger out of lyrium to still/tranquil the Titans so they cannot use magic, and wins the war between the Elves and Titans. This in turn creates the race of dwarfs who are part of the Titans. This also created the blight because the Titans are left angry and mindless.
    3. When the war ends, the Evenuris use it as an excuse to become "gods" in reality they're just the most powerful beings left alive after the Titans are no longer a threat. Mythal tries to act as a check to their power.
    4. Solas warns Mythal that the Evenuris are tapping into the blight for power. Mythal doesn't believe him, but says she will act if they are to try and persuade them from doing that. The Evenuris kill Mythal for suggesting against what they are doing.
    5. Solas traps the Evenuris in a prison and uses their essence to create the Veil, separating the fade from the real world. He however doesnt trap their dragon thrall and hence leaves the Evenuris a means by which to influence the world. The dragons become personifications of the Gods, and when they become blighted, by the darkspawn, a new blight starts.
    6. Solas kills Mythal to get her essence to give him power, bringing us to the events at the end of Inquisition/Trespasser and the start of Veilguard.
    Interesting side note:
In between 5 and 6, the Tevinter magisters break into the fade using blood magic and bring the blight to the golden city. But what I really think happened is that they break the wards between the blight prison and the fade and the blight starts leaking in.
There is an enemy, yet unknown, that has been manipulating events and people after the trapping of the Evenuris to get rid of the blight and people who would use it. While their end goal, motivations are not yet known, we know a few:
    1. They are not in Thedas. But they have an active interest in what happens in Thedas.
    2. They do not like chaos, and have been aiding people who are and were actively fighting chaos.
    3. They aided the magisters to enter the fade in their blood magic ritual that blighted the golden city.
    4. They influenced Flemeth all through her life (maybe parts of Mythal knew about them)
    5. They seem to have been around since the beginning of all events in the history of Thedas
    6. Solas and the Evenuris knows about them, and they are scared of them.
    7. They wanted the inquisition to stop Corypheus during the events of Inquisition. But they were not allies.
What can we learn from this?
    1. They are effected by what happens in Thedas, or else they wont be involved to this degree and for this long.
    2. They do not like the blight
    3. They believe that now the stage is set for them to reveal themselves as their plan has come to fruition after the ending of the threat of the Evenuris. leading me believe that the Evenuris and the blight were somehow a check on them.
    Another side note:
There was a quest in Dragon Age Origins where you fought the Gaxkang, an ancient "demon". But before you fight him, he says "there are eye on you from a very high vantage, grey warden." I wonder if he was an agent of these Executors. Since when I played it, this quest almost seem to be completely dissociated from the game. I didnt know what I was doing and what I was looking for and this dialogue made no sense to me before the fight. And afterwards, nothing else happened regarding it.

I cannot comprehend how the same writing team can deliver these amazing revelations, and the pushup cutscene, in the same game.

Because the current writers have content from the old ones, that and the old writers had to MAKE the new ones stick with keeping solas and a few other things consistent. Without all that keeping the new writers in check, this whole game would be nothing but the stupid, brain-dead trash that makes it so hated by long term fans, like taash, or the games general inability to challenge different viewpoints -_-

@@laurenevers8644 if you want that kind of story narrative to chew on then go read classic novels. This story is written like a comic or illustrated graphic novel. Games have serious limitation due to budget restrictions and considerations. A novel can be longer and is a differeent media, and not as complicated as an interactive story with multiple.choices and endings.

All of the Solas content of the game was A+ - I’m going to play through the entire series from Origins to Veilguard (should have stuck with Dreadwolf…) - It’ll be pretty crazy knowing what we now know about the Old Gods, The Blight, Titans, Elves, etc… and all the major locations that are destroyed by Darkspawn throughout the game in birth the North and South of Thedas.

Solas made the Titans tranquil. We've seen that being made tranquil can be reversed. Heck, Cassandra figured out that becoming a seeker means turning yourself tranquil and then coming out of it. So could they fix the Titans? And, by extension, fix the Dwarves? Im guessing that they need to fix the Blight first... otherwise you're just putting that madness back into Titans.

The problem is the amount of time that the titans were tranquil. The longer you are tranquil before being restored the worse the side effects will be, and we don't know if those are permanent. The titans have been tranquil for THOUSANDS of years. It could get ugly. Probably should still be done.

Well Solas has an eternity to play therapist to the Titans dreams. After watching the scenes at the end I think the term "Veilguard" really refers to Solas, not your team. Whether he does it willingly or not, he is bound to and is the guardian of the veil at the end.

Maybe i'm in the minority but I like this back story, but you can tell this was crafted from the cliff notes of Biowares former writers in the older games. No way this current team of writers thought this up.

Story itself is really good in this game, problem is, whole storytelling is just checkmarking notes in a long list of story points. That's what sucks on this game.

I’m pretty sure this has all been set up from the beginning by Dragon Age’s original writers. Now all that’s left is the Titans reveal.

Personally this I like better for the history.
That the Fade always had a golden city in its center that no spirit ever could remember a time when it didn’t exist. This would be used as “proof” of the Maker by the Chantry.
The truth is spirits ls have exists for thousands of years before the veil was form. And that the Evanuris were yes primeval spirits but were able to take physical form without losing any power or their immortality. But to do the same for the rest of elf kind they needed Lyrium.
Which they stole from the Titans. Lyrium would be a natural magnet for the spiritual energy of the Fade absorbing huge amounts of the arcane power of the spiritual side of the world. It prevented the Fade and the Physical World from completely being one world. (Solas would later use this as basis for the veil.)
Eventually the Titans angry by the overwhelming draining of their Lyrium feared the worlds would bleed into each other attacked the Evanuris. At this time the Evanuris would have also used Lyrium to transform from simple powerful primeval spirits to almost godlike beings. However, the Titans would still have been a great threat to them.
So they stole the memories and dreams of the Titans rendering them in permanent dreamless sleep. But since the Titans were the pillars or “gods” of the physical part of the world all the earth’s fear, anger, despair, and hatred replaced it. To prevent it from spreading they also stole this corruption and sealed the dreams and corruption in the golden city. This fusion of corruption and pure dreams would create a sickness known as the Blight.
Eventually Solas would seal the Evanuris after many crimes in the city in a dreamless sleep like the Titans. This created a true veil which greatly limited how much spirit energy would flow into the physical world overtime. This eventually made it almost impossible for spirits to manifest on earth. And the elves also rapidly began to lose that which made them like the Evanuris.
Overtime the Old Gods which were similar to the Evanuris and were primeval spirits that could take physical form without losing power or immortality. Simply took the form of large dragons. These dragons wanted to free their Evanuris brethren so they manipulated the Mages of Tevinter to break Solas’s veil. But all they could do is make a crack and transported themselves to the city. At this time the Blight was awaken corrupted and blackened the city thus Blighting the Evanuris and the Magisters and Solas’s veil expelled the Magisters but kept the Evanuris there yet woke them up. So the Evanuris began controlling Darkspawn over the centuries to find the old gods so they could Blight them as the more the Blight spreads it weakens the veil. As the Evanuris were all but powerless while in the city this was their only hope of leaving the Black city.
Sorry for the long message. This would have been my take on the history.

Lot of bad in this game from what I have seen, a whole lot. However, I personally liked watching these scenes where they are all together discussing the lore. I am a lore dork so this kind of stuff is fun for me. But Taash, dear God... just why add such a creature into the group and why are we forced to keep it as a pet? If Bioware kept to their normal ways, we should have the choice to add, remove, or kick out whomever we want from our groups.

    @herrzimm 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Wow, just wow..... the constant CONTRIDICTIONS is mind-numbing.
    1) Harding getting all upset about the Chantry's version of the Maker, YET going right back into dwarven lore of the Titans? Which one is it Harding? Is your faith the Chantry OR the Titans. Because as a "surface dwarf" the Titans would have NO connection to you, and yet if you were a "child of the Stone" (more Dwarf leaning) then the Chantry wouldn't matter to you seeing how the Dwarven society does NOT follow the Chantry.
    2) And if all this is about what Solas "regrets", then why was he ENTIRE PLAN from DA:I all about tearing it down and RESTORING the old Elven gods to begin with? Wasn't his whole idea to tear down the Veil, destroy the "world of Man" to re-establish the Elven Gods and "reunite" ALL the elves as not just the dominate species, but the ONLY species, eliminating Man, Dwarf, Qunnari, Dragons AND the Blight. Isn't it basically a "reset to zero"? So, all of this "regret" that they are talking about is WRONG.... his "regret" is that the Elfs HAD their time and it was over. A time when he was personally SUPERIOR to most, both as an Elf and as a God. Sounds more like his "regret" is that his time as a god/elf were over and he couldn't accept it, and like a spoiled child was attempting to have a tantrum to try to glue back together the same toy he broke.
    3) Also, for the record, since MOST of the Elven lore is considered "Myth" overall ..... even among NON-Dalish elfs..... WHY would the other races (Human/Qunnari/Dwarf) even CARE about what the "Myth" had to say? The only ones who SHOULD actually care would be the Dalish elfs, and that would be simply due to the fact that they were the only ones who were trying to keep the Elven "Myths" alive by re-telling them to the next generation. In short, ALL of the Solas background information as Fenris would be POINTLESS AND MEANINGLESS to everyone else. All they had to know was that Solas would destroy "X-Y-Z" and needed to be stopped. His reasoning, motivations and goals would be pointless.

About second question. You sort of ask that in the game and he says he had a "plan" for it but got the ritual disrupted by the player. I assume he was going to tear down the veil for elves but had a different method this time that would keep the elven "gods" and blight contained.
