Mental health is still not acknowledged in most places, and I'm not saying that physical health should be ignored or something like that, just that there's minimal awareness regarding mental health. For example if you have a cold, almost everyone can tell that you're not well based on your symptoms like sneezing or runny nose, etc. because there's awareness and enough of it, but if someone is depressed then most people ignore those signs, being sad momentarily is one thing, but only being happy every once in a while is a big issue, someone who is physically healthy but mentally broken or depressed might end it all, and then people act like if only we would've figured it all out sooner!!
@@coolbreeze1262 I won't disagree with that, but would just like to mention that my mental health is awful, and I am not saying this for any sort of sympathy or anything like that just a mention because my physical health is perfectly fine. Fun fact: it truly is all in your head. Literally. You can see if someone has a mental illness like bipolar, depression, psychopathy, etc, because the brains structure changes!!
As someone who gets injured a lot, i can say this is mostly how i wanna get treated when im physically hurt. Like oh i just hurt my hip joint, its fine i dont need you to baby me about how i should sit down and rest, like my guy, i got shit to do, if i can walk and talk i'll be alright

India doesnt realise mental health because our society was so different back then ! But not anymore people ! Dont neglect mental health , it will take a toll physical health if not treated
Physical health is in a way treated like mental health. I was bedridden for 3 month and had severe palpatation to the point of fainting. From being completely healthy I went to become a burden on my family. Everyone told me it's all in my head and am just being dramatic. I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, couldn't walk. It was extremely traumatizing even doctors didn't believe me although I would pass out in their offices. After fighting soo much finally the doctor think I have PoTS and I got much better now anyways. I feel like in western countries they shove the mental health and anxiety down ur throat before giving u treatment for any other actual health issue u have. I find indian doctors much competent, the medical system is not even comparable to here. If u get sick in Canada it's like a death sentence
I've been not feeling well (physically) for months my parents kept saying "it'll go away on its own" now they're finally taking me to the doctor to for a blood test next week 😋 I might give an update soon if I remember
after reading so many comments ,i genuinely feel blessed ,my father takes everything so seriously even if it is just cold ,when i had depression ,i thought that my dad will never understand ,it took six months fo me to finally tell my dad that i can't take it any more but the response was unimaginable ,he already knew that there is something wrong with me and already finding a good doctor and he straight away took me to the psychiatrist .
People literally say this whenever I get dizzy in school, because this happens so many times without me even thinking about any negative stuff, so I just suffer in class until it's over lol
I feel like this is also how physical health is treated. As long as I'm not heavily bleeding my family doesn't give a sh*t. I've had shoulder pain for a couple months now, and my parents still believe that it'll go away on it's own. Like no. I struggle to sleep at night because of how painful it's gotten. And finally they agreed to take me to see a doctor... next month. Because apparently "it can wait"
A cold will almost certainly go away on its own. More than 90% of people take medicine for something of which either the medicine can't even act fast enough to have an effect OR for stuff which the medicine literally can't help with at all 😊 your body is designed to deal with little things like that and taking medicine when unnecessary helps bacteria/viruses build immunity 😢 weirdly enough people go "meh" about infections which CAN mess you up and which your body often would LOVE some help with 😂
as someone with a mental disability this is so true 😭 I’ve been told so many times “You can’t use it as an excuse to sing whenever, it’s annoying so stop” or “It’s fine just focus.” Or “it’s not that hard to understand” or “why are u so slow doing EVERYTHING”. And it’s mostly my friends… so
@ I’ve been told that a lot. But if I just left them now I wouldn’t have any friends at all. They are my closest and plus it would be random to just leave them.
I have had mild depression for 4 years but my desi parents can't figure it out and at times they've even called me "lazy" and "useless". I can't tell them because I know how they'll react, they'll probably say I'm overreacting and overthinking, I just have to change my mindset blah blah.
@@quicksilverop1362 I was never diagnosed. But with all the symptoms and signs like irregular sleep cycle, feeling of loneliness even though I'm surrounded by people like my friends and family, bed rotting, a little social anxiety, social withdrawal and a lot of screen time etc I could tell it is depression.
Well that's how we spent half of our childhood in the matter of physical health as well, unless it turns serious u are asked to drink warm water and don't go outside
I get what they are trying to say but I think this just proves that they are similar and there are scales to mental health as well. There are some mental health things that need rest and recoup (like with a cold) and others that needs more medical intervention. 😊
Pain is entirely made up in our heads by interpreting signals. That means, yes, pain is technically all in your head. But I’d like to see them tell a mom in labour that, or a dude who got shot….or a person who lives with it every day at much higher thresholds than normal. And often, while mind over matter can work to a degree, unless your completely insensate to pain, there is always a limit you can’t go past. Only when those nerve endings are gone. Oh, wait, phantom limb pain is a thing. And that’s just for physical issues. Mental issues can cause very real, physically felt pain. Is it in their head? Yes. So is all the other pain, though!
Physical health should be taken way more seriously because once you get some problem it's going to stay with you until you die... Phyclogical health gets fixed easily both are connected but physical health definitely needs more attention

"it will go away on its own" hits harder than rock 😢
Very true. Some of these issues have centuries of stigma attached, and the more we do to break that the better
As someone who is physically disabled and struggles with PTSD, I can say, in fact, people do treat physical issues like mental health.
Some people come from families where.all illnesses are treated this way
Matter to be acknowledged as soon as you feel you need help ..
the amount of people including doctors that said its all in my head is insane
Pain IS literally in your head, your brain tells you that something hurts in a specific area for a reason
"PLEASE SOMEONE, THERE'S A BONE STICKING OUT OF MY ELBOW"
"Have you tried just ignoring it?"
*dies of bone elbow*
"Omg :( if only we knew.."
We do this. I walked around on a broken foot for three weeks because it was "just growing pains" and dealt with severe headaches that were "just period pains" but were actually Chiari Malformation. We do this. A lot. Even doctors.
I used to have periods so painful I couldn’t even stand without holding onto something. And I just accepted it as my life now. I was always worried about how I would be able to work when I grew up. And what made me not consider getting a part time job in high school
I hate how so many women get dismissed as simply having period symptoms. It’s so backwards.
Bad Mental health leads to bad physical health .. so Take care guys
@@coolbreeze1262 I won't disagree with that, but would just like to mention that my mental health is awful, and I am not saying this for any sort of sympathy or anything like that just a mention because my physical health is perfectly fine. The reason behind my mention is that if you feel that there's a chance you're not okay, then don't hesitate to take help
@@coolbreeze1262This is so true! Having high levels of anxiety and stress can literally cause your body to have so many issues especially with digestion. There's even stress induced diabetes. That's just an example.
Unfortunately people only care about you having a cold because they could catch it. If you came in sick with a non-transmissible illness like a joint condition my boss would tell me to suck it up (she does)
@@harmonydew6486 I feel you, I know for a fact that if I told my parents that these are the thoughts I have on a daily basis they would freak out, then for some reason they'll ask me to pray, a week or so later they'll go back to the way everything was before I told them, but will somehow find a way to bring it up
Ive got to be so honest this is actually how my mom is about my physical health.
Don’t forget everyone hating you for “making it your whole personality” because you brought it up once in a blue moon
As someone with physical disabilities, this is actually how people will treat you when you have a chronic condition.
This is literally how people respond to these things its not even ironic
Fun fact: it truly is all in your head. Literally. You can see if someone has a mental illness like bipolar, depression, psychopathy, etc, because the brains structure changes!!
This ist how i treat every pain, exept for mental health ❤😂😮
Fun fact: most 'medicines' you get off the shelves for colds dont make it go away, only suppress the symptoms
I mean that’s almost every medication ever, no?
Hardly any meds actually CURE an illness, whether physical or mental. They just treat the symptoms.
nah bc this is how my parents treat me whether I’m physically or mentally sick and it sucks because my body takes colds and shit very poorly
This is so true. Also, as a teacher we do get told such shit when we are experiencing all these physical symptoms, let alone mental 💔
This is how people treated me when i got very sick, not helpful stuck with many chronic health conditions dont ignore pain :(
As someone who gets injured a lot, i can say this is mostly how i wanna get treated when im physically hurt. Like oh i just hurt my hip joint, its fine i dont need you to baby me about how i should sit down and rest, like my guy, i got shit to do, if i can walk and talk i'll be alright
its not about babying, its about listening to professionals when they say you need to rest. Swallow your pride accept that sometimes we have to rely on others
Honestly this is how some parents talk to their kids tho
Sorry but what happened to you??
@@tanyascore Sounds like they had the condition POTS come on (POTS = Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome.)
I’m a woman, physical health is treated like that often times. I know many women who also experience this. No difference between the two 😭
As a person who's mentally and physically disabled, this is accurate to both 😮💨
Trust me, we can tell.
As a person with mental health disability, this is very accurate
aimentalhealthadvisor AI fixes this. Are physical and mental health?
Having a cold does go away on its own though
People literally say this whenever I get dizzy in school, because this happens so many times without me even thinking about any negative stuff, so I just suffer in class until it's over lol
FACTS 😭 But mental health is so important...
okay but this is exactly how doctors treat women with an invisible or chronic illness
This is literally how i react when theres something physically wrong with me
Legit how mother treats my two year long chronic back pain.
"I think I have covid."
"You should really get back in touch with your inner self."
Lmao wth 🤣
The stigma surrounding mental illness continues ! We need to realise that mental illness should be viewed as any other physiological disorder
That was such a good fake sneeze 😂
This is how I treat my physical health.
More than 90% of people take medicine for something of which either the medicine can't even act fast enough to have an effect OR for stuff which the medicine literally can't help with at all 😊 your body is designed to deal with little things like that and taking medicine when unnecessary helps bacteria/viruses build immunity 😢 weirdly enough people go "meh" about infections which CAN mess you up and which your body often would LOVE some help with 😂
Jokes on you, my parents act like this towards physical disorders too
Such a meaningful and insightful video🫡
as someone with a mental disability this is so true 😭 I’ve been told so many times “You can’t use it as an excuse to sing whenever, it’s annoying so stop” or “It’s fine just focus.” Or “it’s not that hard to understand” or “why are u so slow doing EVERYTHING”. And it’s mostly my friends… so
Those are not real friends...
@ I’ve been told that a lot. But if I just left them now I wouldn’t have any friends at all. They are my closest and plus it would be random to just leave them.
"Bro a lion bit my arm off"
"Its okay homie, I you can open up to me"
THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING LIGHT TO THE BULL ANYONE WITH MENTAL ILLNESS/DISORDERS OR LONG-TERM PHYSICAL DISABILITIES DEAL WITH
Me treating my physical and mental health like this always.
I have had mild depression for 4 years but my desi parents can't figure it out and at times they've even called me "lazy" and "useless". I can't tell them because I know how they'll react, they'll probably say I'm overreacting and overthinking, I just have to change my mindset blah blah.
When were u diagnosed?
@@preetaexoxo376 what are you overthinking about?
@@quicksilverop1362 I was never diagnosed. But with all the symptoms and signs like irregular sleep cycle, feeling of loneliness even though I'm surrounded by people like my friends and family, bed rotting, a little social anxiety, social withdrawal and a lot of screen time etc I could tell it is depression.
@@NormieRajmaChawal Idk maybe a lot of things. About my future, my family's situation and FOMO. I can't really list them out. It just happens
Eesh, toxic positivity is terrible
This is how my dad treats physical pain.
This is how i treat every physical injury as long as I’m conscious
I’m so glad someone did this! I didn’t know I needed this but now I realize how much I did!
The fact that this actually happens to both
The "Its all in your head" is so accurate, like, thats my dads motto when i get overstimulated or have a panic attack, like- Yeah????
Well that's how we spent half of our childhood in the matter of physical health as well, unless it turns serious u are asked to drink warm water and don't go outside
“It’s all in your head” is the worst. Like, ok, how do I get it out of my head?!?!
Excluding two, unless the others have permanent or dehabilitating effects, they should be treated this way
Bruh sounds like a typical Hispanic party talk
I tore my ankle ligament and my dad was like just shake your leg and walk it will go away.😅
Yeah walking would probably make it worse
What a creative comparison ❤
Cold does go away on it’s own 🤣
"Just relax, it'll go away on its own" is actually good advice for cold
Mental health ❎
Nazar✅
Yeah always ln India
Yeah, always by Indian moms😂
But…if it’s a cold, it really will go away on its own.
I get what they are trying to say but I think this just proves that they are similar and there are scales to mental health as well. There are some mental health things that need rest and recoup (like with a cold) and others that needs more medical intervention. 😊
The ending 🙂🙂
That is precisely what people say when I have a cold
Tbh though... I treat all my problems like this mental or physical 😩
"it's all in your head, don't worry about it."
Isn't that the most important part of our body?
👏🏿🧠❤️🩹
Physical health should be taken way more seriously because once you get some problem it's going to stay with you until you die... Phyclogical health gets fixed easily both are connected but physical health definitely needs more attention
ngl this is how i treat my physical health
Instructions unclear. My autism, in fact, did NOT go away on it's own😂
This is such a strong video. Mental health is super important
