      Hi, artist here. Can you do an in-depth for just drawing? So curious.

    "oh wow, you've got the pro, you're a serious person" I couldn't help but picture Christian Bale in American Psycho whereby all the colleagues are comparing their business cards, the cut, the font, the gram weight of the card stock 🤣

      Pulls out Ratta Supernote Nomad: "Transparent shell, it’s proven."
      "Nice."
      Shows BOOX Go: “Playstore with thinness ."
      “Impressive, very nice, lets see what Paul Allen has”
      Shows Remarkable Pro:
      “Look at that vibrant e-ink coloring. The tasteful thinness…”

    The flashing does not bother me at all. Certainly other things about RM bother me. But overall this RMPP, for me, is much more enjoyable to use than my Boox Max Lumi or my Supernote A5X

    “I’m a serious guy. A serious person.” Lol. That was awesome. (I love this new rMPP, btw. I thought the color flashing would irritate me, but it really doesn’t. It’s like waiting for what happens on the next page of a great book. Call me weird, right?)

    Thank you Kit for your many hours of reviews. You helped me land on the Onyx Boox Tab C Mini over the rMPP. The coil whine, and the wobbly lines, were a hard showstopper for me. I've had the remarkable 1 since release, and that will still be my go-to for 100% distraction free creativity. Fortunately, I was able to cancel my rM Paper Pro order just before it shipped. The Boox Mini is snappy enough, has enough color for highlighting things, and can view content without ghosting due to the super refresh. I can use it to fill forms online, it runs Termux and Workflowy really well, and it's the perfect size to unbury myself from a mountain of post-it notes I keep hauling around with me! It's fast enough to do web development and the split screen allows me to edit my site live on the left, and watch the changes update on the right. What a little powerhouse!!

    The boox go 10.3 color with Kaleido3 technology is already out in China. May want to wait a month or two for other countries releases. Review videos are out already. Just need to read sub titles .

    🙋‍♂Hi Kit! Was I blown away by the rMPPro...not really. I use my e-ink tablet a lot. Android support and memory storage is a problem. Any device that those not have the aforementioned I will pass. Storage capacity is great on my BNA3C and get a whole day of use with a power bank if needed and I don't use the front light. So in essence the reMarkable line up is a no-go as well as the B10.3Go. Viwood looks promising but 128GB storage is not enough for me. Thanks, Kit for the hard work bringing these videos.👍 Kudos from NYC.🗽

    Thank you Kit for your detailed, wide ranging and honest analysis of the paper pro. For my work use cases the Paper Pro is not for me. To get the security and size I want I am gong to go with a Samsung Tab Ultra. But... if someone comes out with a 13.3" Kaleido 3 running Android I'll be all over that.

    I just bought a rm2 used on eBay .
    Looking forward to it!
    Already have a super powerful laptop , iPad , 2 phones , I am OKAY with the limited software of the rm2 as I just need something to write on and make notes and carrying a notebook sucks ass

      This is my use-case too. I've got a new one and expected it to be „better than paper”. But I was a bit disappointed by some of its limitations. Like: on paper, one can use a compass in order to make a perfect circle. rM2, being better than paper, has no way of doing it. You'd need to have a coin or something to trace around it. Also, the way the eraser works is not how you'd expect. In some cases you need to draw over, using white ink, in order to erase some edges. And it doesn't allow me to draw with a green pen. Only the highlighter has the green color available, but it is much thicker. I know it's grayscale, but it matters when you export the content on other devices. And there is no technical reason for many of these limitations. Not to mention that the marker tips are so expensive that you'd buy more than enough paper instead. And paper is recyclable, micro-plastics are not.
      Besides all of these limitations, it is a great device. I wouldn't take another android just because it has eInk. However, it became clear to me that they have the lowest possible hardware inside, running very well optimized software, so that they can sell it with great profit margins. And their marketing campaign is amazing! So, it's unlikely that we are going to see many software features added. This is the main reason I will not upgrade to rMPP, although I would really like to have color.

    The screen is acceptable if used with bright overhead lighting, brighter than I would for any other purpose. or in a dark room with front light. there seems to be a mid-level lighting gap in between, where the contrast is just too dull, given the dark background color and very weak front light.

    I sold my mini c because it didn't have the writing feel of RM so end up using RM2 all the time. Now Samsung allows you to soften the screen so reading apps isn't as hard as it was on my eyes before. But I'm oh so tempted by the pp!

    thanks to all your videos. I am still waiting for my rMPP (coming from rM1) and they got me in that "distraction free" thing (I saw myself searching for distraction ;-)). Would even love to have different tablet colors, but anyway. I do hope they will at least listen to us for requests in line with their philosophy - although I think they don't have any SW magician there

    I wish SuperNote would come out with a color tablet now
    I am tempted to go with the Boox air note 3C because it seems like people really like the writing feel. Anyone think the paper pro writing feel is better than the boox ?

  • @jessemarcus9262
    @jessemarcus9262 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A little bummed… the Remarkable Paper Pro feels less like pencil on paper to me than the RM2. Definitely a harder feeling surface. Which gives it more of a pen feel over a pencil feel. What feels lost is that very very unique soft but scratchy feel of the RM2. I will give it a few more days. Maybe it’ll grow on me. But the feel of the RM2 was just so unlike anything else. For me, anyway.

    I kinda want a smaller Supernote size rMPP. That's why I'm looking forward to the release versions of the viwoods and still looking at the Boox Mini C and Supernote A62. But damn the color on rMPP! If only I could afford multiple enotes/eink devices

  • @bgosl
    @bgosl หลายเดือนก่อน

    Re storage: have you checked how the storage usage is on the rMPP? I would think the color information now means that each file on the device will be bigger, so I'm not sure how big the real storage increase is. That said I've never come quite close to filling up my RM2, particularly since they let you archive things, so I wasn't too fussed about the upgrade.

    • @RaduM1
      @RaduM1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      rM2 embedded color information too. It just was displayed using grayscale.

    • @bgosl
      @bgosl หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RaduM1 yeah I know you can still see colors in the app - but I’m not sure that that means all color info is stored on the device? The cloud could still Hilde the “extra” information, and the device only transmits what new stuff has been added that’s in color (highlighters)

    In all fairness, Remarkable deserves praise for their easy return policy and fairly quick repayment. But the point is that I just returned my Paper Plus after only 2 days of brief testing because it is NOT „distraction-free“ due to the incessant flashing that happens with the colors! That distracts the heck out of me - more so than any iOS notification badge or whatever. Also didn‘t love the dim screen even on full frontlight. I‘ll just keep using my Kindle Scribe and wait for the new Supernote while curing my „Remarkable Color Fantasy Syndrome“ for now.

      I just got the pro today and plan to initiate my return tomorrow. The software -feature limitations for the price point is a huge turn off. I have a BOOX go 10 and Supernote nomad , and I don’t know why remarkable doesn’t have more features.

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@evilphuk I get you. Yeah, the features are rather minimal, but even that wouldn‘t have turned me off. It‘s the lag and flicker that get me. Anyhow, they have a good return policy, so no worries. :-)

    I really hope that the company launches a rM3, featuring the 11.8” screen…that’s it. No color and even no front light (and if it has…welcome). I live the writing “real estate” and the type folio size are fantastic. Oh…and some of the Supernote note taking features. The colour, in my opinion, is unnecessary.

    It's not good. My main use case is reading books both epub and pdfs. Epub reading is impossible. If you want to change the font size, it takes about 5 mins to do so, which takes a sec in kobo and kindle. if you change the font size after highlighting a passage, then after resizing they are out of place. So it is absolutely not a device for someone who likes to read. Writing on it is good, so if you need a $800 dollar writing slate, then it is for you. Also the constant refreshing after highlighting or writing in color is getting to be irritating.
