Thanks for watching! Tell us - What do you think of our livestock choices? 🤔🐠

typically not a huge fan of rice fish, but these orange ones are amazing. Look great with the scape!

I like that method you used of hanging the measuring cups off the side for acclimating. I usually clip the bag to the side of the tank to get the temperature equalized while adding and removing water to equalize parameters. One critique... I would've expected a Buceplant video to have a clean intake pipe 😂

I used to care very much about drip acclimation, with a similar method adding water to match parameters. But for fish, I found that the only thing that matters is actually temperature. So now I just float the bags, and let them temperature align, which is much more important, and then just net out the fish into the tank. Over the last couple hundred fish that has not yielded anymore fish death or issues. Because the acclimation is faster, I actually found it to be less traumatic for the fish as often in winter time they can come in a low temperature fouled water after days of transport, and going slow exposes them to more of the bad old water. For neocaridina or amano, it also doesn't matter too much as long as yo'ure not going from a widely different KH/GH. Only for sensitive caridina species have I found out a difference, by doing a slower progressive acclimation. But even for those, and I used to have a separate box with drip acclimation over a couple hours, I have now moved to floating the bag, and doing some very small punctures, that progressively equalizes the water of the bag and the tank. This yields absolutely amazing result, and less than 30 minutes almost no work to do.(just use a big needle and make half a dozen holes and turn those under water)

Another thing is... try to do things in the dark/low light. Fish freshly out of transport get very agitated from light, and can jump out in open tanks.
