As a white working man I just gotta say to the Mexicans... Genuinely Thank you for working harder than most people and for doing the jobs many refuse to do. Illegal or not they lighten our load and make it convenient for the rest if us. From picking and growing your food to building your homes and keeping, them as nice as you want them to. They bring thier heritage with them, and that includes some damn good recipes. Illegal doesn't always mean criminal; it just means theyre willing to take a risk most of you wouldn't to take care of themselves and their families. Hard demeaning jobs with little to no benefits and usually done with a smile. Fuck it lets trade places with these guys, even for a month and tell me you still want them out.

Dan Lewis actually illegal is the definition of criminal. A criminal is a person who commit a crime. Being here without proper documentation is committing a crime everyday. Thats is pretty plain and simple. There is not a specail definition for criminal to fit their needs

They are welcome in my eyes, in my country, in my life; screw trump and his "righteous crusade". They make my life convenient, and god damn it if I can't get a proper taco and botana made right.. What bothers me the most is that nobody, no candidate, no trump, rubio, or ted cruz will talk about who works in these jobs.
In Florida, 99% of people doing these are Mexicans, the funny thing is that you won't find one Cuban doing this. They come to America and show their cuban id, and that's it. THEY AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFY FOR ALL BENEFITS. Yes, make cubans go through the green card from day one, driver's licene, welfare package, food stamps, health coverage, section 8, education, even college.. This has been going on for 50 years or more and nobody complains. enough is enough. make cubans go throgh the same process as the rest of the latin americans.

Fender Strat um guys... you do know jfk was responsible for the bay of pigs invasion that resulted in the deaths of countless Cubans the rest were imprisoned or tortured and that wet foot dry foot act is a sort of reparation for that. Cuba is a communist totalitarian dictatorship complete with their own secret police. This is not your typical Latin American country it is the only terrorist country in Latin America for you to want to deny Cubans political asylum well that's just heartless my grandfather would have BEEN MURDERED by Castro's government had he no left Cuba. This is exactly what we fail to understand as a country. If we didn't have good hardworking migrant workers doing this type of work, the average big mac at McDonald's would be $12 or something. I'm willing to bet 95% of these migrant workers are decent human beings with no criminal history that are just tying to work to support families. We should gather all the American prisoners doing life terms and send them to work the fields for free instead of wasting tax dollars rotting in prison. America needs migrant workers, anyone who disagrees should try working the field for 1 day to see what it's really like.

Put people in jail for not having money, then rent prisoners out to farmers and the farmer pays the jailers, in other words slavery. The 13th amendment allows involuntary servitude if the person is "duly convicted of a criminal offence". Well guess how easy it is to make people into criminals. It should be no surprise that the US has the highest number of people in jails in the fucking world.

Many people are under the assumption that when we see those little watering sprayers in Safeway supermarkets come on that, that is where vegetables are grown. If they only knew what it takes to bring food from fields to our tables they would have a different view of the people who make it happen. Gracias Morgan Surlock

I've lived around Hispanics (mainly Mexican) ever since I moved from Ohio to AZ in 1987. In that time I've worked with and made friends with many of them, and yes I know people here without papers, and some that are legal but pay s huge fee every year to update their workers papers. One woman who is in fact a cousin to my kids has to pay every year because her parents brought her when she was but 3 or 4 yrs. Old, however they never fixed her paperwork although they got it. I feel for her, she could make it in Mexico maybe- but is scared to death to be sent away. She has 3 kids who barely speak Spanish and her eldest boy has autism. She's always worked hard and stayed out of trouble..yet many a Republicant would like nothing better than to send her back, because she broke the law coming over while she was a Toddler, but "a criminal is a criminal" was what someone on here wrote- there's no sugar coating it.😒
I've done some heavy labor jobs in my life but one I will never forget was working in Chandler Arizona picking cucumbers there was a sign up at the unemployment office when me and my ex were looking for work and they needed people that pick the fruit so besides me there was only two other white American people that were there everybody else was Hispanic and maybe a few native Americans thrown in - anybody could have went , the sign was there for anybody to see and go work but lot of people just don't want to do that work. And it is very hard after one day of doing it the next morning my legs are so sore and stiff I couldn't even bend them and I was almost crying and in pain so I got to give it up to those guys and ladies that do that hard work day after day after day , it really sucks! If I had no other options of course I would do it, but luckily I can get other jobs. For many of those people working farm labor jobs that's about as good as it's going to get. And iff I was from Mexico. Or any south American country Id take my chances and sneak into the U S or Canada as well! What other option is there? People can't wait around 5, 19 yrs when they are starving, sick, being threatened by the cops , Federalis or Cartel all the time. It's easy for these right wing zealots to say the migrants should come legally - the reality is much different when you live it.😢

I grew up on a farm and the work is HARD. I envied my school classmates who didn’t grow up on farms. They were in debate, cheerleading, sports, going on dates! We got up at 0500, did chores, took school buses in. My twin sister and I never had beautiful clothes, jewelry, makeup. We were outsiders. But I knew what hard work was like and we loved the seasonal workers. Such nice people! They became our families. When I hear ppl who have never worked outside in their lives badmouthing immigrants...well I’ve punched a few out. “Stealing American jobs? What a laugh!” Can you see the Trump family working ONE day milking cattle, picking produce, or stoop labor, picking beans, strawberries.

That is just not true. I worked on a farm in Pennsylvania in 1970's. They had strict laws in PA regarding migrant labor. The farm provided the housing and medical care. The crew boss provided food/meals, and transportation. What you made you kept. If you worked hard and didn't waste what you earned you could have a tidy amount of money at the end of the season. The workers were american born. Maybe the labor conditions are terrible because the state has the responsibility to set the rules about labor conditions.

at 25 I picked apples in Australia for 4 months , yes 10 hours a day , hard work , work on Saturday mornings.
I made $28 a bin , did 5.5 bins a day ( made it up by working Saturdays), 30 bins a week got me $800, which paid for my year in Austrailia. It was a grand job , but saw so many people complain only picking a bin or less a day

stan giles here in Michigan many of the farmers pay 9 dollars or less for a big wooden box ...mostly for apple juice and gerber baby food... I honestly wouldn't do it again unless they pay me more. And yes I was born here in America and worked in these types of jobs...its very hard on your body ..i have back problems and arthritis from picking since i was 14 years old i mean it would be raining in 30 degree weather and we still picked. Asparagus was the worst in 90 degree weather no breeze or shade from sun from 6 am till it was too dark to pick 9 pm or so... Some farmers treated us like crap threatening to fire us if we didn't finish picking even though it was dark and yell at us....i mean i experienced a lot of unfairness.. But anyways its made me who i am today. Im not just some ungrateful spoiled brat ...i appreciate everything i have even if its not much.

USA government only permits to bring foreign workers to a farm once the farmer owner has filled they workers need with LOCAL WORKERS. You American guys have the first choice to get that jobs, the number of foreign workers that go to your country every year only depend on you.
You shouldn't complaint about the foreign skilled workers, this is a very hard and sacrificed work, that only few people are able and willing to do it, if you don't believe me, just ask Morgan his opinion.
Instead complaining you should respect them due to they are bringing food to your table.

Yadira Monjaraz Correction. He got paid that rate for his labor at far less pace than them. At the expected bucket yield he would have made $5.70
Doesn't mean it's a fair wage for the backbreaking labor they do, but if the rate were increased its likely they'd still do just as much of it but send more money home, rather than back off the pace a bit.
Bear in mind that [for now] that money they send home has far more value there than it does here.

    • @goodguy1726
      @goodguy1726 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Jorge Pedret they drive the wages to shit. U.S. citizens dont live 15 people in a 3 bedroom house. If low wages weren't available they would pay more. Yes produce would go up but i would gladly pay it to support U.S. citizens. Also the guy they used was a whimp, i grew up farming you get used to the labor no different than playing sports your body adjusts to the demands

If the wages went up then it would be like prices in Japan and Americans are not paying that. Japan can only really compete with fruit in the premium market and with protectionism. Americans would just buy foreign imports and American farms would go under.
I can see cracking down on other sectors where Americans will do the work but just let them pick the fruit.
Orange harvests can be mechanized so those jobs wouldn't exist if they got rid of the cheap labour.

thank you sir for getting a little bit into our world where some or many Americans say; We have come to take away their jobs, you already felt it in your own flesh, it is hard but to give our children a better future, or to buy or build a house we emigrate to these lands, it is true that many come fleeing as criminals; but not all I'm glad you did this so when you talk to your friends we earn a little respect and the racist Americans value our work that not everyone does it or maybe many try but they can't stand it like the h2A workers and still physically many don't They have the condition I needed to endure 10 and 12-hour days a day. I see colleagues cry from exhaustion and little by little they get used to it, others return, my respects, to those people who work in the fields and my respects to Parati for daring to work like a Mexican. It's both the job and the pay they are getting is the issue. Let's be realistic here no buddy would work in harsh conditions. No, one wants to work under 9 dollars it's not enough. The expense is too damn expensive to live in the United States. Some people I know still live in small apartments. And still are struggle because they work at retail, customer service, and factory jobs. Those places pay you crap ass money for sure. One of my friends works for a food packaging factory he still only makes $9.50 with no overtime pay. I am okay with my pay right now, I make about $11.75, plus $20.00 dollars for overtime. After taxes and all that I would get paid around 640 dollars a week.

He would tell me all the messed up things illigals put up with just to avoid deportation... It's ok though Mexicans are proud and strong they've been through too much to give up now.
