Anyone else like the vid and comment at the beginning of the video because you know it’s going to be a good vid. Really enjoying the vids, keep up the hard work Chris!
I use the new hawk 20” sticks and a carry as you go one step aider and can get platform 20 feet no problem. Love the phantom and the access it gives you to hunt new areas and trees you couldn’t otherwise do with a tree stand.
Problem with a adjustable bridge is look @13:00, If he turned anymore the carabiner will hit the top of the friction hitch and cause it to slide down the bridge and give you a nice little scare!
The buck I shot from my saddle last season came in right behind the tree and I shot him at the 1o'clock position by taking my bow over the tether and resting my left hip against the tree it really helped anchor and keep me steady. Greg has lots of good videos on different ways to shoot from the saddle.
The anchor point is super critical & needs practice with all these different body positions. When I 1st started with the saddle I found through target practice that the last 1" of my draw was very tough if my tether point to the tree was up too high. Shooting from the sitting position has been my goal in any tree setup. After trial & error I also found that changing my letoff so my draw length was 30" instead of 30 1/4" had a double benefit & a crisper shot when the adrenaline is flowing in a real situation. If u r an athletic person the comfort & versatility of a saddle is a no brainer when it comes to becoming a better hunter & opens up a world of opportunities. That is due to being able to go farther with less baggage. Once u get past the learning curve the process is optimum.
I find shooting from a saddle is easier then shooting while sitting in a tree stand. I don't think I have ever shot while sitting in my saddle as I prefer to stand vice sit. I did notice you keep your tether much lower than I do.
Great info. I wonder why people don't take advantage of a ring of steps in conjunction with a platform on the same plane. It opens up so many more possibilities and you can literally move 360 around the tree.
Going to pick up my equipment tomorrow. Been getting deep into public land and this year I’m just fed up with the climber. Thanks for the info Chris. Oh and “that’s just my sight” ain’t that the most classic line 🤣
Thanks from another old guy...building a system that fits your liking and not buy into what others say are best(may not be for.you). Customize it to what works for YOU...thanks keep it.simple safe
My stand shots are very consistent but a foot off to the left than from the ground! Should I just move my pin since I'm very consistent? Who cares about the ground anyway right?
Great video...One additional thing is you need to learn to utilize your platform more. You are able to push off the platform more for those different angle shots. The predator has those two outer points on either side on the front of the platform. You would have used your right foot to push off that point for that last trick shot you did. It makes getting around to the backside of the tree a lot easier.
You make it look easy! Being a west coaster most of my hunting is spot and stalk. This will be my third year hunting Kansas so I'm pretty new to hunting out of a tree. I'm going to check out TETHRD!
Hi Roy, I bought a TETHRD phantom xl saddle and predator XL platform setup last year, and I think I love it(haven't used it yet), however I had also bought a HAWKE saddle kit and I never used it and I was thinking I might try and sell it to someone who needs it for a good deal, I think it was a 299 or 199 saddle kit, id probably sell it to a fellow hunter for 100 flat. It's literally never been used, so if you're interested or know someone who wants to get into saddle hunting and doesn't have alot of money, feel free to comment back and if I've still got it I'd love to pass it along. It's called the Hawke Helium saddle kit 🙏🏻 happy hunting stay safe!
I wanna get into saddle hunting and love these videos I shot a deer last year sort of burning the tree with my climbing stand and it was difficult but I made a great shot but would have been so much easier with a saddle
@3:39 - wait, I'm from MI... Did I miss something? I've been made twice on target deer that saw me, for real you have to be either fully concealed or have plenty of competing trees. Is it widely known that MI Whitetails are expert spotters? (I'm also brand new to archery, gun and tree stand guy for 2Y)
This isnt an instructional video ... so im just gonna do it but that video would be awesome 😎 no bs straight to the point of the video thanks for teaching us and not over complicate things and leaving out random bs about what you ate last night like others cant do
Chris this video helped me out trumendously! First time saddle hunter actually have the phantom as well and ordered a platform yesterday I been using a tree stand seat for now but I was having the problem on how to shoot in a saddle and of course no videos on it tell now! Thank you. Also live in Michigan. Manistee county
Chris, I use a peep, a kisser button, the center of my nose, an anchor point on my face and a sight. My question is if I use all of the points to anchor when I am in the saddle, am I still in my form? I would think so. I think everything needs to be aligned in order to acquire the target. I don't typically let my body fall out of stable as you described happening when drawing at the horizon. What are your thoughts or do you any other pointers for archery form in the saddle?
Hey Chris, I love your content! But I have a question that I can’t seem to get answered. How do you properly size the saddle to you? Would you size it just wearing jeans or would you put on a slightly thicker warming bottom and then size it that way? Thanks and keep up the good work!!
Hey chris , off the topic ? I had target panic like nobody's business with an index finger release. I bought the ultraview hinge and will never look back. Its absolutely the best release I've shot. I have the hunting bracket also. Any disadvantages I will live with for the trade off of the perfect shot vs. all out target panic !! I grew up shooting fingers my first 20 years. The hinge saved archery for me !! Do you hunt with your hinge all the time ?
Do you think saddles will get more affordable as time goes on? I'm very interested in saddle hunting but I'd rather put money into my bow until they get more reasonably priced.
Hey Chris, two things... What are you using to mic yourself on this setup? Sounds great. Also, I wondered how you planned on self fliming with the saddle setup. Maybe another video? Thanks man.
He is using a lav mic under his shirt just like we do with interviews.... check timecode 9:23 and that'll tell you. We use the Sennheiser AVX MKE2 wireless setup, not sure what model they might be using here but there are plenty of affordable options all the way down to a Rode Smartlav.
shouldn't the bow be sighted in correctly from the ground, then shot using your technique from a saddle to see what's happening? It looks like you've taken a sighted in bow, then missed using your technique? What does this prove?
Not to be rude or a troll or anything but the hooks on the leg straps are supposed to go thru the loops from the top with the point of the hook pointing down
Your straddle buckles are backwards, the way you did it is how I thought it was supposed to go. But a guy from tethrd at the Dixie deer classic showed me the right way.
I find it kind of ironic that you’re saying that horizon drawing and bending at the waist is wrong & then proceed to shoot just about every shot low because you’ve basically broken form and are dropping your bow arm.
Could your admin team please reply to an email I sent regarding Merch that never showed up? Very disappointing service! I ordered in March - still haven’t received anything, or any communication from your side.
Do your thing man, don’t worry about what other people think, if you enjoy making TH-cam videos do it! Keep making content bud, I’m about to subscribe to you!
Someone is always going to try and put you down, no matter what you do. Do what makes you happy, be yourself and know those who try to put you down are not in a good space themselves.
“If you don’t agree with me, sweet.” Love that line haha
Chris bee: a goat? No. The goat.
Who else thinks he needs some more subs? Most fire editing on TH-cam!
yeah I just realized he only has 72k I really think he deserves them
He got em bud

As a young TH-camr I just want to say that your camera work and editing is phenomenal and I hope to be as good as you some day
I’ve been waiting for this video to drop. Great job Chris.

Great video. I wasn't sure when to draw. Or if I should sit. I like the sitting as i feel it's less movement

If you set your top stick level with your platform it makes moving around the tree easy. But I also use sticks with double steps.
I find shooting from a saddle is easier then shooting while sitting in a tree stand. I don't think I have ever shot while sitting in my saddle as I prefer to stand vice sit. I did notice you keep your tether much lower than I do.
Was just watching the 100 yard vs crossbow we might need an updated vid lol
Great info. I wonder why people don't take advantage of a ring of steps in conjunction with a platform on the same plane. It opens up so many more possibilities and you can literally move 360 around the tree.
This.
Don't tell everyone , they will miss more deer and that's more for you!
Please do a setup video. I’d like to see how you carry into woods along with setting up to final position
Your sling reminds me of an Anderson tree sling i used back in the 70's . Always loved them. I think the Anderson came out before compound bows. Lol
Going to pick up my equipment tomorrow. Been getting deep into public land and this year I’m just fed up with the climber. Thanks for the info Chris. Oh and “that’s just my sight” ain’t that the most classic line 🤣
I always put in a screw in opposite the platform. Gives some footing to get around the tree
Let’s get it chris! Best videos on TH-cam
This is amazing! Loving it.
I place my top stick 90degrees to the left of the platform to stand on in the event of a tricky behind the tree shot.
Thanks from another old guy...building a system that fits your liking and not buy into what others say are best(may not be for.you). Customize it to what works for YOU...thanks keep it.simple safe
Love saddles
Very new to archery/ and bow hunting. The anchor noise? What causes that click? Is it the arrow rest? I use a whisker biscuit for right now.
Love your vids o my gosh they are a huge reason I love archery
I'm gonna run one of these this year they look comfortable
Great video.... I just ordered my saddle. Tethrd has a sale going on this week!
very cool how much mobility you have and can still be very stable.
One of the best man!!!!!!
will you make a vid about how to ame out of a tree stand some articals say you have to ame low wat is your apinion???
Can you make a video of tips for shooting back tension with the hinge?? 😬plz
My stand shots are very consistent but a foot off to the left than from the ground! Should I just move my pin since I'm very consistent? Who cares about the ground anyway right?

hello chris bee, Have you tried moving targets in vacillating places?
Hey Chris, What kind of bed rack/storage is that? Sorry for the random question that has nothing to do with your video...
You pull the wrap off the truck or am I missing something?
You make it look easy! Being a west coaster most of my hunting is spot and stalk. This will be my third year hunting Kansas so I'm pretty new to hunting out of a tree. I'm going to check out TETHRD!

Love your videos Chris just curious, when you draw what are you looking up at on your bow?
Do you still wear a safety harness when wearing the saddle?
Ian Davenport no the tether that connects you to the tree acts like a safety harness
What sight are you using?
I wanna get into saddle hunting and love these videos I shot a deer last year sort of burning the tree with my climbing stand and it was difficult but I made a great shot but would have been so much easier with a saddle
This has given me a new project! To make a system like this with my arborist saddle. Thanks for the video
I'm in the same boat. I don't think it'll be too bad with the platform to stand on, but without it I wouldn't even try.
What target is the red block?
@3:39 - wait, I'm from MI... Did I miss something? I've been made twice on target deer that saw me, for real you have to be either fully concealed or have plenty of competing trees. Is it widely known that MI Whitetails are expert spotters? (I'm also brand new to archery, gun and tree stand guy for 2Y)
What are you using to hang your bow from? It’s difficult to see in the video.
Is a saddle like a safety harness you wear in a ladder stand? I never heard of a saddle
Love the vids man
Fun video, and informative!
This isnt an instructional video ... so im just gonna do it but that video would be awesome 😎 no bs straight to the point of the video thanks for teaching us and not over complicate things and leaving out random bs about what you ate last night like others cant do
😂😂
Yess excited for this one
You should do one with squirrel steps. I like the squirrel steps better than the platform I can move more around the tree
Hey buddy good video, why do you look at your top cam at full draw?
Chris this video helped me out trumendously! Don't mean to seem obvious if I missed something, but did you take off the truck wrap?
Yesssss sirrrrrr!
Instead of shooting straight down I just pounce like a lemur, way easier.
Ayyyo Chris, what part of the mitten are you from?
Would love a whole set up video
I second this comment.
Do you like the up rising pse
Where can I find that black round target you 1st pulled out of the truck??
Check out www.morrelltargets.com/
What saddle are you using.. And is there a suggested weight limit!! Im 6'3 275lbs
So with this system do you not need a safety harness?
Your tether that hooks into your bring is your safety harness. It is under load at all times you are hooked up
What topper do you have?
Do you think saddles will get more affordable as time goes on? I'm very interested in saddle hunting but I'd rather put money into my bow until they get more reasonably priced.
Hey Chris what's that carabiner you use to hang your bow on? Thanks loved the vid!
It’s called the hero clip
@@MindlessMilitia thank you! 🙂
What hook hanger is your bow on in this?
It’s called the hero clip, easily found on amazon

Make some Amsteel 7/64 daisy chain for your sticks. Super light and quiet.!!
For some reason I think this video is gonna get a lot of views!!
shouldn't the bow be sighted in correctly from the ground, then shot using your technique from a saddle to see what's happening? It looks like you've taken a sighted in bow, then missed using your technique? What does this prove?

Plz make a vid on that black out scope
Your straddle buckles are backwards, the way you did it is how I thought it was supposed to go. But a guy from tethrd at the Dixie deer classic showed me the right way.
You may be right on that.... either way, it worked
Yeah, I wasn’t trying to critique you, just thought you’d like to know..... good vid
what is your draw length?
What’s the click on the release?
Awesome video man! I would probably set mine at 12ft😂😂
At the London ASA shoot
I know you are a great target shooter. Why not a reg pin sight vs adjustable? Thx for video. I bought your black wool straight bill cap, Be Real...
Dang Chris making bank
Does that clicker not spuke the deer?
You should go hunt exotics with your bow
When you are drawing back why do you always look at the top cam?
Is that your 28 or 31.5?
Second like
Hey Chris I’m the boy that got my picture with you and you signed my bow tech hat can you please reply
If you don’t agree.... then sweeet. 🤣. Hard laughed at that.
I find it kind of ironic that you’re saying that horizon drawing and bending at the waist is wrong & then proceed to shoot just about every shot low because you’ve basically broken form and are dropping your bow arm.
