Here I find myself coming back to your videos again. I have all first lite gear and originally found the channel through that. Now here I am again. Never saddle hunted and looking to buy my whole setup. So many questions get answered in your videos. Appreciate it,
This is probably one of the most comprehensive saddle setup and usage videos all wrapped into one. I've never heard the knee-to-the-tree thing before either. Thanks!
Absolutely the most comprehensive, “introduction to saddle hunting” video I’ve seen, and I’ve watched a lot of them! You should be commended, sir, for your contribution to the hunting community and the, “shortened learning curve” for hunters wishing to make the transition to saddle hunting!
Hello, thanks for the great videos I've been a fan of Saddle Hunting for a year and just ordered a Saddle Kid from "Aero Hunter Kestrel Flex Kit" from USA. The Saddle hunting is absolutely unknown in Europe and my bow hunter friends are looking forward to seeing and trying this ! Sorry my English is unfortunately not so good! I live in the mountains of Austria / Tyrol / Zillertal and have been a Bowhunter for over 25 years ! Thank you for your videos and love greetings from Tyrol Didi
This is one of, if not the best intro to saddle hunting I've ever seen. Very methodical, informative, and well planned out. Great job! I took away so many tips as this is my first year in the saddle.
Now this is a helpful, fun and quick simple video. I’ll be in the saddle for the first time this year. Looking for everything I need to know. Thank you
Just ordered mine last night just found your channel and subscribe this is the second video I'm watching first was on climbing one stick and repelling great job
The tip of keeping a knee to the tree is genius! I've always relied on using my feet and never felt really solid when taking the shot. Always had to hope there wasnt a breeze. Thanks for a very planned out and informative video.
Awesome job! I found the instruction to be very beneficial. My son uses the Aero saddle, however, we're both new to saddle hunting so always looking for tips and tricks from the experienced.
Just watch the video for the third time I love the way you present your information very mellow and to-the-point hit the Bell so hopefully I can get all of your videos as they come out thanks much for sharing all of this
Hey man thank u for breaking things down so well and making videos that flow so nicely. Ur an inspiration and I have learned a lot for u. Keep it coming homie
Loved the video. I just ordered my first Cruzr saddle. Could you provide information on the clips you use, who makes them and where to get them, or where are o order them ? I also tried to zoom in on your bow holder to see what you use, but was still unable to see what you were using. Appreciate your video, thanks.
Thank you for posting this !!!!!!! Your technique is what I have been looking for. I’m a FNG so this is a bit overwhelming sorting through all the equipment and brands, tips, what works and what doesn’t . Thanks again 🙌🏻
Just discovered your channel and like appreciate the way to deliver information. I plan on purchasing my first saddle within the next couple weeks and your video has helped to confirm my decision. Subbed
I have been hunting out of tree saddle for 15+ yrs I have been using a Trophyline saddle and have recently purchased the Tethrd Phantom and looking forward to using it this yr as I am getting long in the tooth and trying lighter equipment so I can continue to hunt deeper. For a suggestion I found knee pads will help with long sits so your knees do not suffer when you use them for support also I would like to know where you obtained your bow hanger for I havd been unable to find anyone in the Annapolis area that has them including the internet.
Can’t agree any more than others on here, this is hands down the best video for saddle hunting. Great tips! You definitely get a 👍🏼 and I’m subscribing for more. I’m super curious how you get to hunt all year in the DC area. I hate to assume the political climate in your area would make it a little more difficult than others. I’d love to do the same where I’m at. Thank you!!!
Great video. I’m in the MD area but grew up in NOVA. Been hunting a while now but still learning a ton. I would love to come down and hunt with you sometime in DC to grow my hunting knowledge. Never considered hunting in DC.
Good video in general. I have found that although you have the ability to swing all around the tree like you did, Doing that when a deer is in range isn’t going to happen usually. My platform allows me to stand and turn in place to make the weak side shots which I did on both my deer this week in MO. thanks for sharing your techniques, always pick up something on these.
One item that is subtle is the pack on the tether keeps tension on it. That way if you take all of your weight off your tether to make a shot or adjust, your tether will not slip.
Just starting my saddle hunting journey and used your page for a lot of tips so thanks for that! I’m looking to one stick. Some videos you use the rope man to connect bridge to tether and others you use the mad rock. After your experience are you now using the rope man? If so, What are you doing to disconnect it and then connect your rock guard for descending?
In my opinion A ROS steps is alot quieter tried a platform for around dozen hunts and it was noisy as heck went straight to ROS i do love the use the knee for leverage though where do i get that bow holder and that molly webbing daisy chain wrap for gear
Everyone has something that they might use differently - that's part of what makes saddle hunting so cool! I loved the ability to walk around the tree with a ROS, but they hurt the hell out of my feet very quickly on a hunt. The platform is much easier for me - especially the XL version now offered as it allows me to create good angles for shooting without much movement. The webbing around the tree and the hook came from Tethrd. It's the "HYS" strap (Hang Yo Stuff)
what I wana know is would you sit in that thing on an all day hunt?...im going to nebraska in November for 2 weeks and will be sitting in the tree daylight till dark every day. a lot of the places are quite the hike to get in there so this tree saddle idea sounds nice
What little clips are these/where to purchase?! I have been trying to find the best way to bring my sticks up with me when climbing and this seems great. Also my lone wolf custom double steps im using no buckle and its a pain because i have to keep my tree straps for them seperate for the most part. Awesome informative and helpful video
They're plastic clips sold on Doublesteps.com - also, check out the YakGrips if you want to slide them over your buckles. It'll make them silent... or you can use a buckle-less product like sold on the Tethrd website
I’m just starting out in saddle hunting. For someone like me it hard to sit still so I feel like this gives me so many more options and easily to be on the move. But that platform you have very squeaky in the video.
Yeah, I had shoes on for this video (that had some gravel caught in the tread in the bottom, which was causing a world of popping/noise). It would be the same footwork with boots - just more comfortable because they have more support.
Question, where can I get the clips you use for your sticks? That sounds like a great way to carry your sticks up the tree and would love to give it a shot! Thanks in advance!
Hey, quick question. How do you deal with being skylined by deer in a saddle? If you see one coming do you try and “get behind the tree” or do you not even worry about it? Thanks
Happy to help! Yes, the platform was right by the microphone, and I unfortunately had some gravel in the tread of my shoes which was making a ton of noise. This is not an accurate depiction of the platform or what it sounds like when hunting.... it's as quiet as a fart in church!
Seems like a lot of extra small stuff to keep track of, and how feasable is all these cords and knots when its below zero with all the extra layers that go with those temps
Very good video! Smaller trees are much easier to shoot 360. My friend places his pack in front and uses it as a knee pad. How is the comfort on that Phantom? I like a lot of the innovation in it but it seems much less comfy than the Mantis, Kestrel and Flex.

Been watching a ton of saddle videos, yours has been the best!
This will be my first year using a saddle and this video was extremely helpful! Thanks!

Good to hear Steve! Thanks for following the journey.
where can we get the clips for the climbing sticks
Excellent job! I have been SH for 2 years and just learned something that will make my setup more streamlined!
The tip of keeping a knee to the tree is genius! I've always relied on using my feet and never felt really solid when taking the shot. Always had to hope there wasnt a breeze. Thanks for a very planned out and informative video.
glad it helped! The knee definitely helps with accuracy also!
One of the best videos I have seen for beginner saddle hunters just bought my first saddle thanks an keep them coming
Great video! Short, sweet and to the point.
Absolutely the best tree saddle video I have seen yet. Very informative, very organized, very well explained. Thanks
Really great video! About to purchase my first saddle so I needed this!
full tethrd system coming in the mail today, perfect timing on this video. I like what you did with your pack!
Have fun!
It’s nice to hear from someone that has tons of real world experience.
Awesome video, just purchased my first saddle @6:30 awesome tip!

More saddle content coming soon! Glad you got something out of this one.
Great video, love the edit. Nite eyez makes some very useful products, and the hys strap gets used in every stand I use.

Awsome vid! I’ve been watching a lot of videos on saddle hunting to become more diverse and to take on big public land so thanks A lot!

from a fellow saddle hunter, excellent tutorial!

great video, gonna send this to folks that ask me about how i hunt from my saddle.
I like the knot trick!

you can find those clips at eastern woods outdoors
My first year in one for being a public land hunter its a GAME CHANGER I HAVE THOUSANDS OF SPOTS WITH one
Great video!....terrific advise from someone who has experience...
Great video. Just purchased my first saddle an I'm very excited to start practicing. Keep up the great videos.

Starting this fall. Huge help.
Great video! Tons of useful info and makes me want a saddle even more.
Great video!
Interesting, very concise and to the point. Thanks
Great video! I ordered my Tethrd system earlier today. This video will help immensely.
Great video where can I get those plastic clips that hold the sticks to the saddle ???
The expert himself... solid info here!
Do you have a list of your go to equipment? I would really like to start saddle hunting. Looks super comfortable
In my opinion A ROS steps is alot quieter tried a platform for around dozen hunts and it was noisy as heck went straight to ROS i do love the use the knee for leverage though where do i get that bow holder and that molly webbing daisy chain wrap for gear

Great video buddy.
Is there any way you can tell us what little plastic clips those are for attaching sticks to your saddle? Thank you, this is a great video.
I'm in alexandria and always go to the eastern shore to hunt back home. Is there much public around us? I don't see it on onx
Good job
Great video! Where did You get those plastic clips for you’re sticks?

thank you! the knee trick help alot!
can you show the pack set up with your platform and sticks and everything how you'd have it waking out to your tree?
Hey man. Great info. What kind of blow holder/ caribeaner is that?
Can you link those plastic moly clips that you hang your sticks on in your climb? Thanks
Awesome video, I’m thinking of going that route. Paul
What kind of pack do you use and where did you get it?
Thank You for the informative video.
The plastic clips you hook your sticks onto where did you get those from?
But how do you pack all the stuff to the tree I'm having an issue finding a backpack that I can put my sticks and platform on to be able to carry them
What little clips are these/where to purchase?! I have been trying to find the best way to bring my sticks up with me when climbing and this seems great. Also my lone wolf custom double steps im using no buckle and its a pain because i have to keep my tree straps for them seperate for the most part. Awesome informative and helpful video
you probably could get away with using cheap carabiners
They're plastic clips sold on Doublesteps.com - also, check out the YakGrips if you want to slide them over your buckles. It'll make them silent... or you can use a buckle-less product like sold on the Tethrd website
@@HuntUrban i tracked em down and found the clips, snagged a few about 2 months ago before they sold out! Thanks!
For your ladder sticks is there one brand that you recommend over another? If so, what are your determining factors?
Super helpful, thanks dude.
Where would one find those Molle hooks he used for the sticks?
And that's how you do it. Nice video.
Thanks Dave!! 👍
I’m just starting out in saddle hunting. For someone like me it hard to sit still so I feel like this gives me so many more options and easily to be on the move. But that platform you have very squeaky in the video.
Great Video
Is the prusik on your tether there just to hang your pack on?
it looks awesome one thing I noticed you had tenis shoes with hunting boots should be a bit different?
Yeah, I had shoes on for this video (that had some gravel caught in the tread in the bottom, which was causing a world of popping/noise). It would be the same footwork with boots - just more comfortable because they have more support.
The Newbalance shoes give this bro superpowers
Could you talk more about how you hunt year round? Are you a paid employee of the city? Very cool regardless!
Question, where can I get the clips you use for your sticks? That sounds like a great way to carry your sticks up the tree and would love to give it a shot! Thanks in advance!
Thank you so much for the great video.
How did you do the girth hitch with the linemen onto the saddle do you have a video showing how?
excellent video. thanks
Hey, quick question. How do you deal with being skylined by deer in a saddle? If you see one coming do you try and “get behind the tree” or do you not even worry about it? Thanks
This will be my 3rd season saddle hunting and it never occured to me to keep a knee to the tree🤦♂️🙀👍
Guess I'll be practicing 🤔
Just be careful to not put to much weight on a smooth bark or you may slip a little and spook a deer.
@@Basicsareeverything good point! Some that already without any deer around thankfully
Looking forward to my first season in a a saddle.
Good luck!! Hope this video is helpful - if you have any questions let me know
very good information thank you
What pack is that? Been looking for a good pack... issue is with mountain hunting and humping in 4+ miles hard to fit a day pack inside main pack.
Great tips man, thank you
Where did you get those clips for your climbing sticks??
Have you used the 8mm linemen’s belt and tether? If so how do u like them?
I just dove with the purchase of the Phantom and Predator XL and I am looking for a backpack. What pack are you using here?
thanks for the excellent demo. I noticed a lot of creaking when you were leaning into the platform. Was that exaggerated by the mic?
Happy to help! Yes, the platform was right by the microphone, and I unfortunately had some gravel in the tread of my shoes which was making a ton of noise. This is not an accurate depiction of the platform or what it sounds like when hunting.... it's as quiet as a fart in church!
Best saddle video I have seen. Where did you find those molly clips?
Seems like a lot of extra small stuff to keep track of, and how feasable is all these cords and knots when its below zero with all the extra layers that go with those temps
Cool... Then maybe don't do it
Very good video! Smaller trees are much easier to shoot 360. My friend places his pack in front and uses it as a knee pad. How is the comfort on that Phantom? I like a lot of the innovation in it but it seems much less comfy than the Mantis, Kestrel and Flex.
What are you using for your tether and lineman's belt?
I need one of those slip on rubber pieces to keep the slack out of my tether
What are you using to hang your bow on your HYS strap?
Can you do a video of your camera arm placement?
Yup! Dropping soon
Where did you get the clips? Very slim and solid way to attach your climbing sticks.
Got them from Doublesteps.com - they're awesome!
Hey great vid. Question though, at 2:15 - 2:20 Where can I get those clips that you have? I need some.
