The tip of keeping a knee to the tree is genius! I've always relied on using my feet and never felt really solid when taking the shot. Always had to hope there wasnt a breeze. Thanks for a very planned out and informative video.

Great video. I’m in the MD area but grew up in NOVA. Been hunting a while now but still learning a ton. I would love to come down and hunt with you sometime in DC to grow my hunting knowledge. Never considered hunting in DC.
One item that is subtle is the pack on the tether keeps tension on it. That way if you take all of your weight off your tether to make a shot or adjust, your tether will not slip.

Can’t agree any more than others on here, this is hands down the best video for saddle hunting. Great tips! You definitely get a 👍🏼 and I’m subscribing for more. I’m super curious how you get to hunt all year in the DC area. I hate to assume the political climate in your area would make it a little more difficult than others. Good video in general. I have found that although you have the ability to swing all around the tree like you did,
Doing that when a deer is in range isn’t going to happen usually. My platform allows me to stand and turn in place to make the weak side shots which I did on both my deer this week in MO. thanks for sharing your techniques, always pick up something on these.

Best saddle video I have seen. Where did you find those molly clips?
I have been hunting out of tree saddle for 15+ yrs I have been using a Trophyline saddle and have recently purchased the Tethrd Phantom and looking forward to using it this yr as I am getting long in the tooth and trying lighter equipment so I can continue to hunt deeper. For a suggestion I found knee pads will help with long sits so your knees do not suffer when you use them for support also I would like to know where you obtained your bow hanger for I havd been unable to find anyone in the Annapolis area that has them including the internet.
Great idea to hang your pack from the prusik loop until you install your HYS Strap.

Great video! I've got the same Tethrd setup and it's my first year in the saddle. I notice you use the ropeman which I have also. The ropeman makes me a little nervous so I'm adding a double eye prussic above the ropeman. After watching your video, maybe that's overkill - you hunt many more days/year than me so the ropeman alone must be be reliable for you to trust it. Thanks again for the great video.

Just starting my saddle hunting journey and used your page for a lot of tips so thanks for that! I’m looking to one stick. Some videos you use the rope man to connect bridge to tether and others you use the mad rock. After your experience are you now using the rope man? If so, What are you doing to disconnect it and then connect your rock guard for descending?

This will be my 3rd season saddle hunting and it never occured to me to keep a knee to the tree🤦♂️🙀👍

Just be careful to not put to much weight on a smooth bark or you may slip a little and spook a deer.

Very good video! Smaller trees are much easier to shoot 360. My friend places his pack in front and uses it as a knee pad. How is the comfort on that Phantom? I like a lot of the innovation in it but it seems much less comfy than the Mantis, Kestrel and Flex.

Loved the video. I just ordered my first Cruzr saddle. Could you provide information on the clips you use, who makes them and where to get them, or where are o order them ? I thought the same thing.
One way to avoid that noise is to toe hook and push down. The method he showed about pushing down with your hand is good to pre set the Predator. However, if you will put one foot on the top bar and use the other foot to lift up this will tighten the platform so that when you push it back down it bites hard with no sound.
I noticed that too. Not sure what's up with it as my Tethrd Predator platform never creaks or makes noises. What I do have sometimes is when my boot tread slips or something and makes a popping noise.
Yeah - The shotgun mic on the camera was unfortunately close to the microphone, and was picking up some cracking/popping from gravel in my shoes. Not how it sounds when hunting!
