This is awesome, love this. I'm starting the process of making my own short film in Blender and doing a previz now for it. I get too caught up in details sometimes though. :P
Hey! Thank you so much! That's exciting to hear you're making your own short in Blender. It's a great tool to use but yeah lots of tools to get carried away with haha
This rules! Really dig the pacing and energy of it. Did you use animation layers to get the suspension movement on the car? I'm a student and learning so I've been browsing grease pencil animatics to really get whats capable in blender (yours stands out for sure). I'm a Maya user mainly so it's been daunting to take the leap into another program. Also, how do you find out events like the Project City one?
Thanks, AJ! Glad you like it! The car animation is all done through a Blender Add-on that uses geometry nodes that handles suspension, drifting etc by Blenderesse. Blender is useful to know but depends on what you want to do, most industry jobs are using Maya for animation but pre-production jobs utilize Blender, photoshop and SBPro for storyboarding. I'm not sure what other groups hold monthly contests for storyboards/animatics but there could be a few more!
in this case is accaly much more time effecent to do 2d drawings rather than dealing with rigged 3d characters and animals as just using held frames is more than good enough for this kind of story board
This has got to be the most efficient storyboard I’ve seen
Thank you!
This is awesome man. Really like how you are using blender here. The shots are really good too.
Thank you, Carl! Really appreciate you watching it and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Blender definitely has some great features :)
Man that was pretty good for a 1 minute film 📽️
I love this short. Brilliant shot choices and fun / sick idea. Also , extra points for (I believe) using the Taylor Swift 'Trouble' Goat scream? ;)
0:27 Brah, the goat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That big moose, i have officially named him Tony- lmao
Also dayuuum this is helluva cool animatic! Much nice much nice :3
Thank you, Cayasa! I love the name haha :)
Nice storyboard

What the elk is that?!
nice but, i think that making them in 3d in much easier, rather than in 2d
in this case is accaly much more time effecent to do 2d drawings rather than dealing with rigged 3d characters and animals as just using held frames is more than good enough for this kind of story board
I prefer the expression 2d has over stiff 3d and it’s faster if you sketch well
