Thanks ScoutCrafter! This was a fun challenge! I noticed a few people made their challenge knife their first TH-cam upload - hopefully this challenge will inspire them to share more content! I contacted Stanley Tools through their website to tell them about our challenge. They have a TH-cam channel - they have less subscribers than you! LOL
I am with scoutcrafter on this one. I think the crocheted knife should get some sort of trophy. Or maybe make it the trophy. If your wife would allow it, You could build a shadow box frame or mount it some how and give it to the entry with the most votes.
The tribute knife is outstanding! That is, hands-down, my favorite 199. The inlaid shells are a great idea....so very appropriate. I gotta say Mrs. 357's knife was a real treat to see, her submission was awesome. Cheers
Thanks Joe! I am really happy with how my tribute knife turned out! Those letters were tough!! My wife was really surprised at how well her "entry" was received!
Those knives came out great. Can’t believe the tedious effort you put into them. Tough to pick one, but I choose the bullet. Special shoutout to your wife, those crochet dolls are excellent.. very unique. Thanks
Mrs Magdad is very talented and I can see how she won. I have to say I like both knives, that look fantastic and the painting and jewelling look great! THanks for sharing this.
My red painted one was a nod to Scoutcrafter for all the inspiration and information he has given us. The black chrome and gold was a tribute to a motorcycle I had years ago, a Yamaha XS1100 Midnight Special. Not the best bike I ever had but maybe the best looking. You did a much better job with the lettering than I did, paint pen might not have been a great idea and I'm no candidate to be a neurosurgeon :)
Love your stuff. I have no idea where you are, but for you, or anyone remotely near Georgia, this weekend is Peaches to the Beaches. A 200+ mile long yard sale that has everything and is Tool Nirvana. If you need 6 months worth of projects, get out there and bring home the rusty gold you want to reform.
Reviewed, many entries, I haven't done any...really enjoyed looking at all entries...Thank You for the 1st annual tool resto contest...can't wait for the next projects...Thank You...357magdad...Scoutcrafter...
Great job and nice touch with the 357 casing. For my sandpaper assortment, I've been using an old heavy manilla accordion file that's held up for over 18 years now. Keep up the challenges!
Wow, this is hard! As a straight tool challenge, the black/yellow gets my vote. As a hunter and sportsman, the shell casing version is excellent. But for artistry, the crochet version takes it all! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
The crochet version wins hands down...I was torn between the two fantastic versions you did...your wife's awesome creation made me realize the first two were not the knives I was looking for. Lol Good to see a family express themselves so creatively. Great job. So..does she by any chance happen to maybe have other crocheted star wars figures for sale? Have to admit..those were sick. A few guys I know would be so peanut butter and jealous if i happened to have a set of those bad boys on a shelf when they walk in to my music room.
The tribute knife is out freakin standing! Also that Stanley 199 your wife did is so cool. And the 357 one....ahhh ok I can't decide I love all of them.
Wow, they all look great and kudos to your wife for being involved, loved hers. The creativity shown in this challenge is awesome. I hope this won't be the last.👏
Love them both. Love the yellow and black one even more. But that shell casing addition is hard to beat. It's a tough choice. Why do you make our days so difficult? ;)
All three came out awesome. I like the jeweling idea it looks real nice. I saw Scout Crafter and Ben’s videos also. If I were the judge I would declare you all winners. It was so interesting and so much fun watching all the videos. Thanks for such an enjoyable time!!
Very hard to choose which I like netter, but the 357 casings just look too good not to vote for that one. It was hard not to say your wife's was my favorite though LOL! She also does incredible work! Those Star Wars characters, I admit, are my favorites also.
I was jumping to get to the comment section to yell, "MAGDAD" knife! But then I saw the crochet knife and now I'm not sure which I like better. The kid-safe knitted version has obvious appeal for children but the Magdad version actually works like a knife. This is quite a conundrum.
Thanks D Mack! I did a comparison of low budget jeweling techniques on my tiny adjustable wrench video - you may want to check it out! th-cam.com/video/3_WMRScwSxc/w-d-xo.html
My first time on your channel! I have some catching up to do! Nice job on the knives, I like the one with the bullet casings. Quickly becoming a fan....
Nice job Mag Dad they both look great. And there's a new paint out there it's called Scout Crafter Red. I'm going to see if i can get it at the same place i get my Mag Dad Black!! LOL
357MagDad, ScoutCrafter suggested I send you a link to my late entry on Imgur. Here's the link. Let me know what you think, it's a tribute to a P40 Warhawk. imgur.com/Qjw7ZZY
hey mag dad you and your wife have some mad talent think both of you take the cake on the knifes she thought out side the box long and far. i like the jeweling that was my idea but just for the cheeks of the handle but i like how it came out i do have to side with the shell casing one that is over the top great job to you and your wife. hope you feeling better man sorry hear about you being sick again . peace brutha
Thanks Tony! I'm really pleased with how the tribute knife turned out!

@@357magdad You have a lot of patience with a brush, could you not use a rubber roller that would put paint on the high lettering. I maybe talking out of my butt, it was only a thought.
@ I think you are referring to a brayer. I think Joe's Shop has tried one of these with limited success. It might work OK if I had a really tiny brayer. For a "normal" tool restoration I wouldn't paint the letters - since they are raised the paint will easily scratch off during use. This was sort of a "just for fun" paint job.
Both of your 199 are cool looking , But I do like the look of the jeweling on the stanley tribute knife, how many pencils do you go through? . You wife knitting looks awesome I could see them with air freshener in them and dangling from a rear view mirror in car or truck. She has skills and patience.

😃👍. Fantastic Job!!!!!

The gun shelve did it for me
Both turned out great, but the crochet one made by your wife was by far my favorite. She seems to be really talented!
Thanks 2/3! My wife is awesome!

Wow both really nice bro! The black and yellow with jeweling is amazing! I would love to paint the letters on my vice like that.
Thanks Tom! Go over to the craft store and score some Testor's enamel paints and a fine brush and you'll be in business!
The 199's turned out awesome. Very impressive crochet work. Your wife is very talented.
Talented and beautiful and she married well!
Great job. I like the jeweled version with the yellow lettering.
And the crochet child safety knife is absolutely brilliant...
Thanks - my wife can crochet just about anything!
Very nice (naturally). I can't wait to show my daughter the last one. She crochets as well. Great job!
I forgot to mention how much I liked your "branded" embellishment. Brilliant!
Thanks Ben! I love my wife's crochet creations!
I think I like the yellow and black lettering better than the all-black, but the one your wife made wins the prize.
She won the prize when she married me!
Those knives came out great. Can’t believe the tedious effort you put into them. Tough to pick one, but I choose the bullet. Special shoutout to your wife, those crochet dolls are excellent.. very unique. Thanks
Thanks Tony! This was a really fun project! My wife is amazing - that's why I married her!
I like both of them but the one with the shell cases is my pick, very creative.
Thanks! I figured no one else would do something like that!
Great job! The Stanley tribute piece is classic and the .357 piece is really cool. Hard to choose between the two. Love the crochet knife too.
Thanks TBC! I think all three turned out great. My wife is amazed at all the positive comments her knife is getting!
Mrs Magdad is very talented and I can see how she won. I have to say I like both knives, that look fantastic and the painting and jewelling look great! THanks for sharing this.
Thanks John! Mrs Magdad is amazing!
I like your jewling technique. I like the shell casing also. WOW on all! Thanks for doing this challenge.
Magdad and Scoutcrafter - Thank You both for setting up this challenge. It got me motivated to get my channel started.
@@Resto-Rob That's great to hear Robert! I'm looking forward to more Resto-Rob videos!
Great job on both. I'm a .357 Mag fan, so I prefer the knife with the cartridges....
Can't go wrong with .357 magnum!
I really like and appreciate that Stanley tribute knife! The crochet one is super cool also.. All three really!
Thanks! I felt like I had to to two because I really wanted to do a tribute, but I also wanted to do a more "personal" one. And my wife is amazing!

Thanks Black Kane! That was a really fun project. I'm impressed with the level of participation and the quality of the work is awesome!
The yellow and black with jewelling looks so very classy. Never to be used but now a fantastic art piece.
Thanks Tony! I'm really happy with how the tribute knife turned out!
I like you .357 version, just a touch above the Stanley tribute. Your wife's entry is a sure winner in the whimsy category!
Thanks John! This was a fun challenge! ScoutCrafter is organizing a C-clamp challenge for July 3.
All of the entries look great, but my favourite is the yellow with the black lettering - outstanding !
Thanks Steven! I am really happy with the way that one turned out!
Great job and nice touch with the 357 casing. For my sandpaper assortment, I've been using an old heavy manilla accordion file that's held up for over 18 years now. Keep up the challenges!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
Thanks Brian! My wife and I had a lot of fun on this project!
I like both.
I most like the black and yellow one and the matte finish of the other.
The brass shell casing is a cool idea for sure.
Thanks Tyler! I wanted to do a Stanley tribute knife, but I also wanted to do something that fit my 357magdad persona - so I had to do two!

Thanks Cole! We had a lot of fun with this project!
Wooow!!! Love both of them!! The first one has the Stanley spirit, and the other one is very personal!! I'm weapons fan too.
Congratulations!!!
Thanks Bruno! I figured nobody else was going to inlay a .357 mag case in their knife!
Wow, they all look great and kudos to your wife for being involved, loved hers. The creativity shown in this challenge is awesome. I hope this won't be the last.👏
This challenge has been a great success. ScoutCrafter and I will have to try to do this again!
Love them both. Love the yellow and black one even more. But that shell casing addition is hard to beat. It's a tough choice. Why do you make our days so difficult? ;)
I think this was ScoutCrafter's first challenge. If you like utility knives, I think you'll enjoy this weeks video!
I like them both but the spent shell one was my favorite.
Thanks MrDoeboy! I figured no one else would inlay a .357 mag case!
I’m working on a few shell casing projects.
Beautiful work!
All three are great if I had to pick one it would be the tribute version.
Thanks! The black lettering was difficult - I'm glad I was able to get it to turn out OK!
Stanley tribute by a narrow margin!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍Great work
Thanks Alan! That black lettering almost drove me over the edge!

Thanks Frank - you gotta go see the Joe'sShop knife! Oldshovel did a great job as well.
I love the yellow and black on the one knife and the overall look of the other knife.
Thanks Brian, thats why I had to do two knives, I had two really good ideas I wanted to try!
both knives are great! love the 357 case knife. also props to the knitting wife!
I told her she is going to have to crochet some more tools for the channel! LOL
Both are superb Magdad, but for me the black version with the shell cases has the edge. However your good ladies version deserves special mention ✌❤
Thanks Robert! Mrs Magdad's entry got a lot of votes!
Fantastic and fantastic 👍👍
Thanks Brian, this was a really fun project!
Outstanding!!! I like both of them! Plus, hats off to your wife!

I think the Stanley tribute knife was my favorite love the jewel effect.
Thanks Cory! This was a fun project!
Wow Bud!!! Really amazing job ..I love both of them :] The trick with e eraser is awesome !!!
Thanks D&R! I researched and tried a few DIY jeweling techniques - think that will be my next video!
I'm impressed. Both pieces are awesome but your wife wins. Every time. My 2nd favorite is the tribute piece.
She won the day she married me!

Thanks Timothy! This was a fun project!
Love the shell casings!
Thanks Jim! I thought it would be something no one else would do!
Outstanding job! I love the yellow one.

Good idea! I'll ask her!

Thanks Arlind! The tribute knife was definitely the most difficult!

I really like both knifes but am a fan of the classic looking jewelled version, great work.
Thanks Gilbert! I am really happy with the way the tribute knife turned out!
This work is outstanding and a pleasure to look at. Thanks. I would like to find out what’s the story with the shell casings.
I like to target shoot and reload. I figured having a couple .357 mag cases inlayed into the casting would be fitting for my channel.
Love the knife with the Black and Yellow lettering! But your wife gets a strong "Runner Up!" ...Newk from Kentucky
Thanks Newk! That lettering was tough to do! My wife is the winner - for marrying me!! LOL
My first time on your channel! I have some catching up to do! Nice job on the knives, I like the one with the bullet casings. Quickly becoming a fan....

Thanks! ScoutCrafter is the Master though!
Both knives look great, the one with the cut down shell cases looks incredible.
Great work 🏴🇬🇧
Thanks! ScoutCrafter challenges are always fun!
OMG I love them both, but if I must choose I go with the Yellow/Black
Thanks Milton! The tribute knife came out just like I wanted it to (that doesn't happen all the time!)

Thanks Tommy! I'm really happy with how the tribute knife came out!
Love the yellow and black!
Thanks - sometimes I have a vision for how I want something to turn out and it doesn't happen. The tribute knife actually turned out like I wanted!

I can't get her to go to the range with me! It's her only flaw! LOL

Not capable of judging, as I can't achieve even half of dat, I loved both. The lettering process truly was an uphill task & u did gr8.
The lettering almost drove me insane! (My wife will tell you it wouldn't be a long drive)
