This a great tip, as people are asking for multicolor prints of some of my designs, but 1) I don't have an AMS, so I would have to sit and watch it. 2) I already cringe each time I load a new filament and have to purge. I kind of hate waste. You stated that more vertical model color changes may have more bleed, but I would think it might be less apparent if inner walls are drawn in first. that may also help a bit with the purging, but probably would be best with 3 layers (inner layer printed first). This would also depend on the diameter of the print. I self taught myself the color painting in Bambu Studio, but as an experienced low poly modeler, I often already separate objects to test colors when building in Blender, so painting has been generally easy for me. Unfortunately, I cannot post my multi-color profiles, since I cannot print them to show they work. In any case, great write up on this. Once I get an AMS, I will definitely play with the flushing volumes setting. I assume this is for the flush tower which I was wondering how to adjust.
Thank you. I had stumbled across the multiplier settings a few weeks ago, but I had forgotten where I found it or what it was called. I print a lot of articulated dragons and animal models for my niece and nephew. With those types of models it's better if the colors just bleed into each other rather than having a solid line where the color changes.
@@planet3dp Do you have a K2 Plus? People are complaining about color bleed on multicolor prints and I'd really appreciate your take on it. I find you to be very credible.
Good tip and I will use it. But what I don't understand is why the from/to numbers going from, say white to black, are different than the ones going from black to white. Shouldn't they be identical?

This setting applies to the model file only right? There is no way to apply this setting to your printer in general right? I download files from the app all the time so I believe I am at the mercy of whatever the designer set this too. Am I correct?
@@danamoose1234 yes you are correct. I would recommend getting used to printing with Bambu Studio there are a ton of options to optimize your prints. Bambu Handly only allows for using presets.
I assume, multiple extruders are needed (for now). I often think about the filament printing like monochrome photography before the color one was made affordable (mostly in 1970s and later).
Considering we've got multi colour prints at all from a single extruder I think there has to be this compromise, ppl are never happy, try designing something better yourself lol
Although it would be annoying (and a lot slower), this particular print would be better done in sections. All single colors only, then wheels and tires together with a lower multiplier, then the mixed red/white with a higher multiplier. For many (most?) multi-color prints, this is not possible. However, adjusting the multiplier should be considered whenever doing a multi-color print for a particular color scheme and desired quality. Thanks for the video!

It was probably my Mesh Boolean video! Let me know if that was the one.
Great explanation, thanks. I am about to buy and AMS for my A1 mini and this is really useful info.
Congrats! You will love it. Just be prepared for the piles of poop! LoL. This will definitely save you time and money though.
Great video, this really helps! I feel like you needed more examples and the Jeep was a poor example. But still this info is great to know, thank you!
Glad you found it helpful! I appreciate the feedback! If you had a suggestion I am open to creating more content around this.

@cylonmode no unfortunately I do not. I am waiting for them to reach out to me so I can test out their machines as well.

Cool that you reposted the video, which is now including the "how-to"!
Thank you! What filament dryer do you recommend for beginners?
Stay tuned. I have one in my video schedules for early next week!
Hitting it out of the park again! LOL Question? Under others was flush into objects infill used and did you change any prime tower values?
No flush into object was used or tower settings. All default. Nice and simple.
FYI- 2 mins of video at the end looks like you meant to edit out but missed it.
I trimmed it on TH-cam, says it could take a few hours to update. This video has been a nightmare for me lol.

Zaznacz opcję płukania do podpory. To też oszczędza filament.
Oczywiście jeśli jest podpora......
Thank you for this video 👏

I don't see what's different, it's been common knowledge for some time you can modify the flushing volumes?

Color prints are so unbelievably ineffecient. One day we will all look back an this in utter disbelief.

Let's hope that the new Bambu model will accomplish just that. Fingers crossed.
Prusa XL doesn’t waste filament. And costs $5,000.
