Obituary: It was revealed on November 5th that the leading gag and horror manga artist "Kazuo Umezu" had passed away. He was 88 years old. He collapsed at home in July 2024 and was taken to hospital, where it was discovered that he had terminal stomach cancer. He did not undergo surgery, and from September of the same year, he received end-of-life care at a hospice in Tokyo. After that, he continued to think about new ideas while in bed, but in October, his physical strength declined, and he passed away at 3:40 pm on October 28th of the same year. The funeral was held only for those involved, and he was placed in his coffin wearing his trademark red and white striped shirt and red cap. A farewell ceremony is planned for the future.
