Dragons are cool and all but having sounds is pretty dope i think. Things look like they're coming together so far, I've seen some rather minor bugs with these updates but given it's the beta build it's to be expected. What do you think so far?

Well, recoding an entire game does take time.
they're basically remaking the entire game from scratch. new foliage, lighting, better optimization, new map, new animations/dinosaurs, new systems, etc. so yeah obviously it's going to take a while since the game is literally rebuilding itself lol. sounds like you have no clue about game development and how long it takes to build an actually good game with your own assets, not simply buying premade assets from a store.

Pls stop spreading this misinformation. Dragon is an umbrella term. 2 legs 2 wings = Wyvern, 4 legs 2 wings = Western Dragon. Eastern dragons and amphiteres are dragons too even though they don't have 4 legs and 2 wings.

I really hope the membrane of the wings travel and connect lower on the body. It’d look more realistic as there needs to be a larger surface area to ensure they can carry their weight in the air.
I am so hyped for this game! I'm a huge fan of dragons and dragon lore, and I've always wanted a game like this, but never was able to find one that wasn't either cheap, broken, or lame. I honestly hope this game lives up to it's hype!

I do like the way the wyvern sets itself on fire. It doesn’t make it op since some animals can put poison on themselves to protect them so I don’t think it’s op and you can still do damage to the wyvern
Cool I didn't know that wyverns weren't considered dragons. I always said my favorite type of dragon was a wyvern. I thought wyverns, drakes, wryms and amphitheres were all just specific types of dragons. I'll probably just still call them all dragons though because I'm pretty sure the average person does that anyways. Interesting to note the difference though. Honestly didn't know that.

So often in games where you control anything with wings, it's so rudimentary, but this looks promising. I'm hoping and looking forward to this game having a much broader, interactive flying style to it. Furling wings to pitch into a steeper decent, diving, and tricks like you mentioned.

despite all the difficulty's the dev has been though, i hope he get's to Finnish the game and it become's what he intended it to be, the work being put in shows actual work and not slacking off which i understand because of starting from scratch even 3D modling can be so time consuming , not to be picky but for the sounds for a start, not bad but could use a slight bit of work (when the place holding models change) but ill show my support from afar mainly because if i had the money id so buy it but just like all the rest of people that cant bother with things like this but that wont stop me from putting in input to try and help the dev
It's about time they made a game like this! I've been itching for a decent dragon game where you get to play as a badass dragon. When the game is finished I'll get it and try to make a dragon that's as close to being like my Dragon OC I use in roleplays and stories. Found the game on Steam and I've added it to my wishlist so I can keep an eye on it. I wonder if they'll add humans as enemies for the Dragons. It'd make sense since Dragons have a harder time surviving when humans invade their territory.

not a good model to tell viewers not to become apart of a specific opinion. ive commented about DOD before unfavourably, and that received a lot of good feedback and everyone seemed to agree. looking at day of dragons current day is rather confusing, to remind anyone or enlighten those that dont already know, my name is Jack, im attending a games design college course as of now, i have been for a year. day of dragons is asset scrubbed, what that means is everything you see, from trees to brushes used to form terrain, its all bought through the steam market, that includes the dragon models. from the perspective of someone who is currently working on re vamping a 2D game i made in my last year of college, i find it hard to believe that, as jao has said multiple times, hes been working on the game for over 2 years. it would take me about 1 hour if that to achieve what hes done, which, as we know, consists of asset scrubbing (5 minutes or so to get everything you want) moulding terrain, which, doesnt seem to be done in DOD, most of the terrains look very professionally done, im implying the fact that theyre likely scenes that have been bought and put together, which explains the lack of more than just a few spotted around areas. as it holds i still think DOD is a money scam. even after a month or so since the last video i commented on. from a business standpoint it seems that jao has attempted to satisfy any critiques through means of making small, non costly changes in the game, in doing this i believe hes basically hoping that at least a few people will believe that DOD isnt a scam. Another thing that doesnt make very much sense is building a game off of assets, its very limiting, hence why its never done in the industry, if the game IS legit, this could be a massive pain in the arse down the line, to put it bluntly. A new problem that became apparent to me in this video is the clear lack of creative thinking, it doesnt seem as though theres any solid thought behind a lot of what is already in the game. In my first few classes of college they drilled it into our heads to lay out lore before even thinking of the idea itself, Anthomnia himself did point out he had no clue why the dragon, detailed in the artwork shown towards the end of the video, could light itself ablaze. there seems to be no obvious catalyst to this and no logical thinking behind it. What that means is DOD is an idea, this further fuels the theory that jao used the idea of DOD to scam people out of their money, a dragon simulator game is one of the biggest gaps in the market that is really difficult to fill, after all, its something that hasnt been looked into deeply which is why it aroused such a large community in days. as a comparison, one that i thought of and did also see wrote in the comments. the monstrous nightmare from HTTYD, that is, a dragon from a childs film and adapted series, has this very same logical thinking behind it, it has lore that helps one to understand why it can do what it can, in the monstrous nightmares case, its a saliva like substance which allows it to set itself ablaze, the fire is sparked through the mouth. easy, simple. lore. the design choices of the MN also show how its designed to be fire resistant, with a tight grouping of plated scales interlocked, paired with its saliva like substance allowing it to be fire resistant, while obviously, this substance contains properties that make it flammable. theres no thought behind their version of the MN, theres no obvious design showing why i can set itself ablaze, or how it protects against that, whats stranger is that the fins and spikes seen along the ridge of the dragon also seem to suggest (along with the jaw structure, length, and teeth patterns) that this dragon eats fish, therefore lives near a body of water, which, doesnt pair well with the ability to, light itself on fire. it makes that ability useless to the dragon unless used in mating displays. To round this up, i still, from an educated point of view, i believe DOD is a scam despite all the small changes. DOD seems to be designed in such a way that it was almost meant for children, a little like, ooh, look. shiny object. yes yes, you like shiny object. and obviously, a child wont question why, that objects shines, it just knows it likes it. thats the way DOD is designed, aesthetic over lore, which just makes it seem fishy. youd think with half a million raised theyd open what they have now as a public sandbox, updating it occasionally with the models theyre making, showing off things in live streams, but theyre not doing which is nearly unnerving, especially since this is all over the internet and nobody really knows who jao is, at least. those of you that wernt already intrigued and did some digging. None the less, with all the money accumulated and all the obvious lies jao spits out, his intolerance and almost paranoid behaviour towards anyone, even his own staff when questioning DOD (its still listed as a rule on his server that you cant talk badly about DOD or youll be removed, this includes the mod that publicly exposed DOD as an asset scrub, its clear, at least to me, that jao is scared. i believe hed planned to take what he could and run with it from the kickstarter, but having such a large community now he knows he has to deliver something, i think jao will release a sub par (to our standards at least) game, DOD, and will attempt to build upon it, clearly seeing how much a game like this is worth.

Oh no Anthomnia! You missed out on all the crazy stuff that happened in the hotfix 0.7.0.12! I hope you're working on a video for that now. Here's a hint: Pookie has ai now and the black fire dragon skin is working. Btw that "black dragon" you saw in your vid is just the green skin. I can tell you haven't played in a while because the day night cycle has been in for a while but it is still very buggy.

Well the creator you spoke with in that interview did say one of his fave movies was "How to Train Your Dragon" and the monstrous nightmare dragon set himself on fire.. Stoick the vast was introduced in the first movie when fighting a monstrous nightmare and yes they have fire resistant scales.
Indeed there's no need to compare Dragonfall and DoD nor bash either or. Both will be amazing in their own ways. Plus, both will be completely different as Emberfall will have humans in the game while DoD will not. Its like comparing Isle and PoT, both are dino survival type games, but both will be completely different in the end. I for one will definitely support both and can't wait to see more! ❤
That fire wyvern in a way reminds me of Hookfang the Monstrous Nightmare from How To Train Your Dragon. Also this seems interesting and keep up the good work. (Oh and I don't know if this is some thing that I should say but on steam I'm Neltharion and on discord I'm JC Mahrt and if you already know that then nevermind or whatever cause I don't want to bother you or anything like that with some thing as unimportant as that.)

Concept art and sounds, music sounds great good job jao but im still skeptical because its just appealing to our imagination of what this game could be. The sooner those placeholders go away and the custom design that was promised comes back then im in for the ride.

Yeah the wyvern catching it self on fire keeps itself in check with medieval dragon lore, the spewed fire onto themselves to protect themselves from human weapons, such as arrows-swords-axes and catapults, also to show other dragons that they shouldn’t mess with it.
