    Your reviews are excellent critiques. Always a pleasure to watch. Do keep it up and ignore the whiners/haters/trolls that plague the comments.

    I own exactly this car (BMW F31 330d xDrive Touring with M-Package) and ist really great. I love everyday when I drive this car. With the optional M-PPK (Performance Power Kit) it has enough power for every situation, Its economic, I drive it really fast and I need 7.8 litres of diesel on 100km.
    Every owner of an xDrive F30/F31 I recommend to change the original springs to lowering springs. I prefer the AC-Schnitzer springs, the are really great to drive. After changing the runflat tires to non-RFT I am really tremendous happy with this car.

      XStoneX 36mpg. That's ok for sports wagon. Do you wish it had a 6 speed manual gearbox instead? That's only thing for me that's missing.

    I've just ordered a 330d touring rear wheel drive car and found the above presentation excellent and funny.
    Thank you sir.

    A BWM 330i XD Touring is the car that nearly does it all - Just sad that the options list is so immensely expensive.

    I used to drive for a long time the 320d (e46). I need to say that this car was perfect in relation of power and weight. After that i owned a 530d (F11), which was way more powerful and luxury but also heavy. Due to that the fuel consumption was in average 10 L/100 km i(n comparison to the 320d: 5.8 L/100 km). Currently i owne an Audi S3, which is great but lacks the torque in the lower revs, which i loved with Diesel. I am thinking to change in couple years back to a diesel but wouldnt be sure if to take a 320d or 335xd. Maybe for some ppl it might be disturbing to be unsure about these models because the 335xd should be clearly the better car, but i heared from owners that it is pretty heavy and not so agile as the 20d. I mean the sound of an 6 Cylinder Diesel is just way better i need to admit. Did you have the comparions to the 320d?

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +fakeforever I drove the face-lifted new 320d (it awaits editing), and it was definitely not as good to drive, as this 330xd here.

    • @thereallotharmatthae
      @thereallotharmatthae 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I switched from a 320d to a 335xd - I loved the 320d, but had to sell it due to emissions rules here in London (was Euro 5). The 335xd definitely feels heavier. It can go fast in a straight line. The 320d is more agile, for sure.

    I would definitely get the twin turbo beast 335d.

    I once drove a fully laden E39 530d and when the boost kicked in that thing flew! This is truly all the car you need ... But 70k€ for a 3-series?!? That's insane ... I would be perfectly happy with a 320 ED model, but even that is way over 40k€ with a few options ...
    There is something wrong here ... these cars are made for very particular economies where such pricing is acceptable. Unfortunately I don't live in one of them ...

    Great review. How would you compare the f30 to e90 Lci (245bhp) as a everyday car. I heard some mixed opinions about f30s electric power steering beeing a big down side compering to full hydraulic on e90. Im hastening witch to buy apprishiate any help ;)

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Andrzej Radochonski the 330 pre-facelift here was great. Later on I drove a 320 LCI and the steering was very unBMWlike. th-cam.com/video/CWtyhR5rNZQ/w-d-xo.html
      Could be reprogrammed Servotronic.

    Biggest boot in the segment? I consider a Passat and Superb also competition as the prices are very similar here in Germany and 495L vs 650L is quite a difference. Still Space isnt everything and im always gonna be a BMW fan.

    • @3TimesFaster
      @3TimesFaster 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Passat and especially the Superb are 15-20cm longer than the 3 series Touring and are lengthwise more comparable to a 5 series. So of course they should have a bigger boot, especially since their engines are mounted transversely which offers more space in general but makes them FWD-based cars.

    I just drove for 1 week a 330d M Sport saloon (M Sport is here just a Feature) and I made different experiences: The automatic transmission shifts very smoothly like always but the shifting decisions were often unsuitable! I was very disappointed because I had driven already better BMWs years before.
    I was very often annoyed for example after passing a junction wanting to give a quick kick to be back at 70km/h it had just shifted higher and the car wasn’t ready for the kick, then when I was already near the 60km/h it shifted back but then I didn’t needed it anymore etc., etc. In sportsmode it was the other way around, I could drive one whole minute(!) without stepping on the gas at all but it stayed without sense on a low gear with high-revving engine.
    In short: many automatic gear shifts didn’t fit to the situations in normal traffic. One month before I had driven a Golf GTD DSG for one week and this automatic seems to understand all traffic situations very precise and shifted always perfect (and also very soft), that was really much better (and I was NO Golf Fan before!!!).
    Also a taboo at BMW cars: criticizing the steering: the directional stability was just bad, especially on small country roads where you don’t want to end at the ditch, I needed to adjust constantly my direction. The same streets some weeks before I went with the Golf totally relaxed, it just went straight without permanent adjusting. And in the BMW in sportsmode the steering was only insensible tight and in low speed (20 km/h) unnormal tight. So I had to switch often the mode from sport to comfort, sport, comfort…
    And also nobody will believe me: also the brakes weren't good when full braking was necessary (also after the car was driven already about 500 km and the brakes should have worked then perfectly)…
    I guess nobody will believe me all that, so I leave it now. Info: I am a quite or normal experienced driver & the car was brand new, had gone not more than 100 km before. Maybe something was wrong with it, but then it must have been a production or electronic problem. But I can also imagine that not every model of a BMW necessarily is perfect balanced concerning the gear selection or adjustment of the steering and so on. Before the experiences I had picked always a BMW before a Golf, now I would pick definitely the Golf… (and I am not payed for this statement!!!!!!!)

      @MarekDrives 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mattes Rocket You're right about the steering. This here is a pre-facelift version, and the steering was fine. I have a face lifted 320d waiting to be edited, and it had a strange dead zone in the centre. As for the gearbox, it is normal for most cars to stay in higher gear in sport mode.

    great review , would you say the M package is unnecessary ? you got Xdrive and you got a huge engine, what would be the reagan to add M package? suspension? but then you have Xdrive which will control everything ! thanks for a hint

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +yakazum1 M package lowers the suspension by 1 cm. It looks cool, but if you want to take advantage of xDrive also on rougher terrain, I'd advise to stay away from M pack.

    • @yakazum1
      @yakazum1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Marek for a quick reply, appreciate , maybe one more question as I actually considering to buy 3series , do I really need Xdrive if I am driving only once a year in a winter road like zakopane road.. :) ? unless it really make a big difference even in normal twisty road !

    • @MarekDrives
      @MarekDrives 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      yakazum1 Chances are you're getting a 320d or something of that sort. You don't really need xDrive for that. Unless you plan doing rally stages in it ;)
