Wagons are great! Too bad most car companies have abandoned them in the US. Europe has some great wagons that we'll never see. Volkswagen Alltrak, Ford Fusion wagon, Mazda 6 wagon. Keep beating the wagon drum, Steve!
Nice Review! I own a 2013 Sedan 328i myself and I really love it. I'm seeing around 27-28 combined in daily driving and the engine really has a lot of get up and go power.. Most of my friends who ride in it think its a 6 cylinder engine hahaha. I'd personally do the sport line myself, but that saddle interior does look pretty sweet
Thanks for your service! I've heard rumors that BMW is considering bringing the 3-Series Sports Wagon to the States in rear-drive form. 328d is on my radar but currently not scheduled for a test-drive.
Steve - speaking about luxury all-wheel drive wagons... I haven't seen you test the Audi allroad, an wagon variant of an A4. Will that be coming in the soon?
I'll take this over the Audi allroad; however, the price tag might be a deal breaker. Audi's comes in around $50k, and the BMW Steve tested here is $55k+. The Beamer has 39 more hp than the Audi (211 hp in the allroad & A4) yet has the more proven AWD system (Quattro) as compared to XDrive, but the BMW 3-Series wagon has better fuel economy. Hmmm, what to do if you got $55k to burn...
Hey Steve what is your feeling on the power rating of this engine? Many reviewers believe it is way underrated but BMW doesn't want it to be too close to the 335.
Steve, I'm US military living in Germany and thinking of buying one of these beautiful wagons. Drove it. Love it. But I would prefer a rear wheel drive [RWD], and save the xDrive's $2000 premium. At 0:42 you say the drive train is "all wheel drive, at least for now". Your statement seems to indicate a RWD version might be coming. What do you know about it? Thanks for the great review. When will you review the 328d?
Recently bought our family a 2008 328xi with 19k miles on it for 20k, 6 speed. It is a great vehicle but wouldn't even consider it for 55k or whatever retail is. Also that idrive display looks tacky. Why is it no longer integrated into the dash?
Personally, i think the upcoming Volvo V60 looks better. If the current 3 series is any indication as to how the estate will do in a small overlap crash, i'd rather be in the volvo.
If BMW offered this with the 6-speed manual I would be scurrying to my nearest BMW dealer

Thanks for always checking in! I can always count on your feedback.

"Nomenclature" and "ubiquitous" in a single video. Well done lad!
Drove one a few years ago but only briefly. I think the video might still be on here if you search.
I drove it briefly last year and really liked it. Hopefully will get one on here soon.
Whatever 2 cars I'm testing that week. Have not been a car owner since 2002.
Big fan of German and Swedish wagons!

I have a 2006 325xi wagon manual and love it. I would buy the new model, but it'd have to be the diesel.

Steve, I love watching your reviews. Will you be testing the 2014 Rolls Royce Drophead Coupe?

Will you test the 3-Series GT?
Will you please try to get your hands on the new V60 wagon from Volvo to compare against? It looks to be a very promising sports wagon.
True that!
When are they going to give you a 2014 Lexus IS350?
Born and raised.
That must be nice! No gas no insurance I would assume?
really like this car, i just dont know if i could swing 56k into it..
only if mazda brought the mazda6 wagon to the stateside..
Very Nice, but What if you run out of cars to review! :O! You'll be carless for the week!
o man i wanna lease one of these.
If I had one I would...
I love this british car
+Abe Grimm british...?

what a lucky man...
As long as it's not a stick she drives whatever is here as well. Loan agreements allow for spouses to drive.
That almost never happens.
If I remember correctly... I think I thought it was a 6 lol
Does your wife have a car, or does she just drive the other tester when you're not using it?
Question do you ever drive your own car....js
STRICTLY I6...ijs
Which is sad
Volvo wagons V60 looks better and is better built
Not really...And Volvo reliability sucks. BMW's are actually really reliable.
I think most buyers will still prefer the X3
