    Guy pack grease in the axle sides behind the wheels, dirt gets passed the bearing and into the pumpkin, I did this to the UDR with great results 🫡🥳

      Air compressor with a length of brake line attached to the nozzle works great for that. Blows all that crap right out.

      Get a good set of 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5 metric driver bits and an electric screw driver...Since its not just a tub with wheels the truck takes alot of extra work and may seem too much for someone new...But it is worth it and you will develop your own methods to speed up working on the truck...It will teach you to drive better too

    I am starting to believe I have a lemon kraton 6s v5. Constant problems with it. The list is long. I do know for a fact it was poorly assembled. From now on any rtr I buy I will give it a thorough look over before I run it. Lesson learned. I have always bought unassembled kits and the Kraton was my first rtr.

    • @scottconstantine891

      I have saw many vids that may have been true it was with the tlr typhon and the diff fluids being really low. Next week I'm gonna start with my infraction on doing a complete teardown of the diffs and check all bearings

    • @paulclancy2404
      @paulclancy2404 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been thought about half dozen kratons lol , I learned all the nuances of arrmas the hard way . Tlr typhon a great rc now mine older I'm not loving those hinge pin brace incerts and you have trash alot parts to get rid of them . Yes you can run your arrma one or two times but I suggest going though it especially the diffs they're usually low , you want add little thicker fluid anyways and see if you need the bearing shims , usually don't till you have wear tear

    • @dankforest
      @dankforest ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Im not sure whats going on at arrma. I bought a senton recently and litterally replaced everything on it within 6 months. I hav prolly rolled it a handfull of time and never jump it. I just had motor then esc then arm then tires. One problem after another over and over. I finally replaced almost everything elect, and it finnally runs without issue. I have some axials no problem. I even have a tt02 that runs pretty good. Not sure at all

    • @rcguygarage
      @rcguygarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      @dankforest So this might be a case in point study that you're experiencing with your truck. If this vehicle you picked up is "old stock" This might be what the problem is and why sales go on with companies like this.

    First time I got a close look at the rear end geometry that is horrible, that angle on the rear u-joint is atrocious. You need to see if there is a way to lower the upper four link connection be closer to the pivot point the lower arm.

    I haven't saw. Anymore videos on the 100mph off road.. What do you think of trying to use the udr for that kind of speed ,that 4 link (I think that's what it is called can take a beating.Anyways keep the vids coming ,I'm gonna order that jump box you tried out I know you don't wand to let big black run that low on the batteries but that would 100% seal the deal that it's a solid unit

  • @brokennib1
    @brokennib1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The UDR has the exact same issues... the rear axle just attracts dirt, the plastic just doesn't seal... the diffs will blow out soon, I promise. so yeah, when I upgraded to a metal rear axle, no more problem, but it does cost a bit. That whole rear is just buried in dirt during runs, it's just how these things work. Those arms are probably going to taco eventually. Everything requires maintenance, it's part of the hobby.

  • @scaleworksRC
    @scaleworksRC ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I kinda got that impression with all the panel screws. After many many years of wrenching on cars, it becomes a hassle more than a hobby.. but that's where the love comes in. You wanna see your investment do what it's meant to do, so you go through the uncomfortable steps of making it happen. I got the Mini T diff all back together and put a new motor in it today, so that was a huge one for me. Just broke the JB Weld shock tower repair I had trying to jump curbs lol. Also replaced today with a fresh pair of tires. Time for a night rip!

Have thousand runs on one of those but I never did diff, I bought the gears ⚙️ but man it's tidiuis I figured I do the ball diff one day , that mini t I put big can motor it dosent even get warm problem wasn't enough room but now we have the mini b and mini drag car ill use one of those chassis

      Yes I actually do like this truck. It's semi comparable to the UDR however the UDR size cost and capability do place it higher on the scale for those reasons. The UDR is slightly more fluid feeling but the Losi gives it a run for the money

    Running an Arrma Senton 3S with a Proline flotek fusion body and its 2wd and really easy to maintain. Why are most RC cars nowadays 4x4? is it for air control? 4x4 is kinda boring sometimes. My Arrma Typhon is now 2wd and it has a big spoiler for downforce on the back wheels and its so much fun to play with and i only have 1 rear differential and the front diff is now a spare for the rear. Just got one of them high power air blowers from amazon to blow my cars out and it works great. BTW hope the wife is good dude.

    • @rcguygarage
      @rcguygarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      the only thing that I can think of with the 4x4 is because it gives it that all-wheel drive that ultimately has more traction all around. Two wheel drive is fun That's what I grew up on but I can definitely appreciate all four wheels burning up either the pavement or roostering dirt

  • @mackali7678

    Whaww Guy, thats a lot of sand. Im saving up to pick one up, but looking at the video i dont know if i will be able to keep up with the maintenance, cause i love running my cars in dirt and sand. And i put them through a lot of abuse.
    In your professional opinion is it worth a vehicle to get for someone that pretty much just wants to throw a pack in it and rip, with very little maintenance.

    • @rcguygarage
      @rcguygarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dang guy that's a rough one to answer. I'll say that if you can focus on one RC with your time and wallet it's a little bit easier. The truck is a PERFORMER so you need to keep up with the maintenance. Breaking into the axle again was me just inspecting after one run day just to see condition. I'm not surprised to see the debris and the design is good however I'll be trying to seal out the intrusion. 👍💯 if your driving style is this then this truck is worth the time spent
