We had a blast even though it rained a lot of the time. You can't really tell in the video that it was sprinkling the whole time we were at the beach. More Sugar Beach adventures to come!
Sweet! That's my beach! Born and raised. I live right on the other side of the 3 mile bridge. Love the footage. Hit me up on your next vacay. I wanna have a drink with yall!😀
Nostalgia is so bittersweet. I grew up in the same era and miss that life so damn much. Thank you for sharing such a gem of a video. It’s beautiful that you two are still friends.
You said it perfectly. At 54 I can't even look back at old pictures of the good times as a kid in the '70's. I want to refrain from saying "these times suck and back then was THE BEST", but I notice even a lot of the young people will agree about that. We have a lot of gadgets and "stuff" today, but that's all we have. Back then it was enjoying good times, friends and family. People were warmer and happier.
@@josephconsoli4128 y2k baby here, and i can attest to the young people envying previous generations thing. most of my generation are not having a good time, which is why we’re flocking in droves to nostalgic videos just to feel maybe an ounce of what you guys felt. times are so hard and i feel like we didn’t get to enjoy our youth
@@twinkincarnate Yes. The worst part is you guys are so pressured at a young age, to figure out how to make a lot of money to survive in today's world. My generation was able to stay a kid all through the school years and beyond. Then you got an apprentice job and made enough to get you by. Also it was an "ignorance is bliss" world where you didn't worry about everything nearly as much. There's too much negative info being jammed into peoples heads. I work with young people and they sort of stay in their own cocoon with their heads in their smartphone.
This is the most epic series. I don't think any other channel is doing this type of content. It's like your own personal Twin Peaks where you have this extended gap between seasons.
Always enjoy seeing good memories and footage of my home from my era.We live it here but enjoy meeting people from all over vacationing here. I wish we could go back to the 80s-90s. Unfortunately people aren't just visiting Pensacola Navarre their staying and it's not the secret little Peninsula it once was and honestly uncomfortably overcrowded.
Wish I could have the same friend for 31 years! I don't even REMEMBER who I went to high school with other than my ex girlfriend, much less anyone from before then. Moved around far too much.
The only difference is that instead of being a teenager who thought they knew everything, you're now a 40-something who realizes how little you actually know in life, even after a lifetime of experiences.
I love seeing all the old cars you never see anymore in your videos and the fashions, too. The excitement in Eric's voice as he says they have an arcade and comic book shop down by the beach is something I'd share at that age. One thing I wanted to point out is that Eric's feet haven't changed at all.
How cool it is to go back to where you grew up and vacationed as a kid. You guys are like the best friends I never had. Same era, same music same everything. Wish I knew you back then. But it's so freaking cool that I kinda know you know and I get to go back in time with you. (Kinda). ❤️
I admire you guys so much for undertaking a project such as this. I am a "Then & Now" nut myself. You two just got yourself another subscriber just based on this video alone.
Good on you guys for revisiting a childhood memory. I did see your 1990 vacation video shortly after you first uploaded it, and seeing the walk-through of the condo now was nostalgic for me as well lol.
Ever been to the aviation museum? I went there in 96 as a kid, and I saw it recently. That place hasn't changed at all. I love when a place from childhood is the same as I left it. There's a place in Baton Rouge called Celebration Station that's like that, except for having newer arcade games. Same gaudy colored paint job and everything that was there since at least 1990.
No and yes. We’ve stayed in contact the entire time since we met. Not a year has gone by. As you get older, however, it’s easy to let months pass without talking. We live in different cities, and people get busy with work and life. But every time I come back to Huntsville I always see Eric. And no matter how much time has passed, it’s like no time at all. The greatest thing about this channel is that we talk constantly now. Cheers! -D
I wish I kept all my footage from the 90’s and uploaded it here like you have done. I watched your trip to McDonald’s video and had a massive flashback when you filmed the menu
I'm so glad you guys are visiting Pensacola ❤ I went to a few family reunions there back in the early 90s. I haven't been back since I was a kid, we stayed at the Clarion Inn that was right on the beach not sure if its still there since the hurricanes. I also was so amazed with the ufo house. Im glad you guys thought was as strange as I did.
I’m in the Chicagoland area. We are expecting a Arctic 🥶 blast soon b4 Christmas 🎄. It sure looks like a nice place. Sugar beach 🏝 SWEET! Wish I was there right about now!
Awesome memories, not many times can you retrace the steps in life you took decades later especially with your best friend. Loved this 👍 oh and great aerial footage!
I love this going back 31 years later what fun I just went back to my old hometown in Florida east coast went to some places I haven't been to in 24 years had a blast and thought of you guys
This is pure nostalgia, I’m a little younger I was born in 1986 and also raised in the 90’s, I’m also from mobile, Alabama and between going to gulfshores, Alabama, orange beach, in Alabama and Pensacola beach, this was golden, I also got married in Pensacola.
Great editing! I came across your channel earlier today and have been binge watching your videos, love your content. Is so nostalgic, is great. Has me thinking back to those way simpler times and can't help but smile. Thanks guys!
I love your videos! It reminds me so much of my childhood growing up in Florida. Thank you for sharing! Warms my heart to see you guys are still best friends 🤘
I think it would be a blast to road trip with these two dudes! Listen to hair metal, talk movies and filmmaking and of course talk a lot of rubbish and nonsense. And the occasional sincere deep conversation, whilst filming awesome FL scenery and having a drink and meal at a cool place.
I just love y’all and your videos. I’m a couple years younger so seeing your old vids takes me back. 💗 and I love that you are still friends and are recreating your trips. ☺️
This was a fun one, what a cool idea! And it looks so much like it did back then, wow! Why did y’all kill off poor Rain Man?! 😂 Nice reenactment, lol! Glad you guys had an excellent time reliving your childhood vacation! 🎸
Just stumbled upon your channel and its fantastic that you're still friends and having adventures after all these years, you are both very lucky, love your channel 😎😎
This was amazing to watch. Brought back memories and I didn't know you guys back then! Lol We are bonded by the nostalgia! I found some old film rolls I've been trying to get developed. One I think they lost! :mad
I wish I realized then how freakin good things were right then. Would I hae done it different? Who knows. But all I can do now is look back and think how awesome it was then.

That's the cool thing about beach town vacation areas....They look the same as they did 50 years ago!!
I hope one day I get to see my old friends and take a trip back to memory lane
It must be hard waiting for the anniversary of each 80's video you made, to film the "then and now" videos So fun.

It's nice to see Darrell's legs grew in. 😉 Great video guys!
Genius thing you two did! Wouldn't it been funny if the condo had the same 80s deco when you opened the door.
The only difference is that instead of being a teenager who thought they knew everything, you're now a 40-something who realizes how little you actually know in life, even after a lifetime of experiences.

Enjoy watching then and now I grew up here in mobile co. Semmes Ala. we always went to Gulf Shores all the time and Dauphine Island
i must say... as a kid of the 80's myself, this is awesome! The fact that you documented this is just unreal!
I just loved this reenactment! I enjoy seeing how places have aged and changed through the years. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, thanks and welcome aboard! 🤘
Eric’s baby voice was so cute
Got to say I love your blast from the past videos. I grew up about fifty miles down the beach. Excellent adventure.

I put an Eric and Darrel Master of Rackets shirt on my Xmas list...lol
Very cool! So glad I found this channel
The Futuro House (ufo house) is a Pensacola landmark. One of the few Futuro homes left. Look them up!
The famous one in NC was recently destroyed by fire. It was sad to see. 😢

You guys have such a nifty channel. Really enjoying your content. 👍
I really enjoy watching you guys recreate old videos! It's very fun! Hope yall are doing well!

How cool 😎
This is the kind of thing my friends and I do but I'm so anal I would not be able to plan the trip until our original room was available 🤣
Love to watch your video ❤️ it cool 😎
Great video (one more).
Very cool. Not all of us had our 80s and 90s childhoods documented on video. Do y'all have kids, and if so, do you take them on these memory trips?
