    As someone who suffered heatstroke a few years back, I can understand how her parents react to this. My parents hover over me every year now at summer time, always reminding me to drink lots of water, stay in cool, shaded areas, and so on. They even went out and bought an air conditioner for my bedroom without telling me ahead of time. They just came home one day and there it was.

      I've read that asians have that special gene. They don't sweat much because of it. North American indigenuos people have it too. That's why in Korea and Japan deodorants are not that popular. And they have that stereotype about white people and their smell. Which is based on these physiological differences, i think.

    It's possible she has some form of anhidrosis. Many underlying illnesses have it as a symptom, from diabetes to certain rarer autoimmune diseases. To some extent it can also just be a result of poorer sweat production even without some underlying illness. Sweat production is famously one of the x-activation traits, where sections of your skin randomly choose one or the other x chromosome and sweating is on the X, so if that section has a bad allele, it can lead to certain areas just not sweating at all in girls. It's worse in guys, because if you have a bad X, you barely sweat at all. So sometimes it can be harder than just, "Drink more water lol."

Also the hot/cold cycle of a sauna is really fun and healthy.

  • @DinnerForkTongue

    Sounds like a result of dehydration. If you have no spare H²O, your body can go on a fritz like that when exposed to heat and forced to sweat. It's a delicate balance.
    I know when it gets hot where I live, I drink enough to pee all the time. Icy water is my treat and I carry a thermal cup or bottle specifically for it. It keeps the body ticking and also does away with a bit of the heat, so win-win.

    Heat is my arc enemy too. especially those humid heat. I could get heat stroke in just 10 minutes. on the other side I could wear shorts and flip flops at around 0 degress for around 2 hours outdoor without problem.

    I've had heat stroke twice. I used to have a very high tolerance for heat, and would play out in 115 degree heat index as a kid without any issue. That southern USA summertime baby.
    But one day in the middle of summer I was repainting a pool and it was probably fifteen degrees hotter inside the pool than out because we were painting the pool a dark blue and it was absorbing all the suns rays.
    I got really hot in there and got heat stroke. There was a ladder on the side of the pool and it took all my energy to pull myself out. My arms were shaking like I'd been pushing a lawn mower. I am an Army veteran and pretty consistent weight lifter and pulling myself out of the pool might be the hardest one physical thing I ever have done. It felt like I weighed 400 lbs.
    Later I joined the Army and had ANOTHER heat stroke. This one I ended up going to the hospital and getting IVs and put in an ice wrap. The ice wrap after having an internal temperature of 104.8 was pretty freaking uncomfortable. Being deliriously hot, and then instantly going to freezing cold was no fun.
    They say each time you have one you will never be able to reach the level of heat resistance you had before. I personally think that sounds like an old wives tale, but in my case it is true. I HATE living in the south now, and want to move west towards the mountains, or too the northeast because I find the southern heat unbearable.
    In short, stay hydrated and in the shade and cool whenever you can.

    Sounds like she either doesn't have sweat glands or they don't work well. She's right to be careful then. Sweating controls your body temp and if you can't do that, very dangerous. I remember a guy in my tour of SEA that said he couldn't sweat. I was like....bruh, you gonna legit die here. Not sure how he survived the trip. Definitely was bathing himself in water constantly.

    Late to the party, but I just want to mention that there actually is a medical condition that makes those who have it unable to sweat. And no, I'm not tallking dehydration. I'm talking about anhidrosis. Basically, they can't sweat even if you were hydrated. Not saying Sora has it, but its certainly a thing to look into.

      Upon watching a lot of her streams and 3D live she drinks a lot, she even has an emote for drinking
      Don't overthink it, these girls especially someone like Sora who is really focused on her music have singing and dancing lessons all the time they have instructors that will tell the importance of drinking water
      She's been doing this for 5 years she would be crippled by now if she's not hydrating properly and following her vtuber career she's one of those who barely take breaks due to health reason

    Definitely sounds like dehydration. I do a fair amount of hiking, and my daily cardio involves an hour of walking/jogging laps on the hill I live on. There's no way I'd be able to do that without a water bottle. But about a decade ago, I made the mistake of not hydrating enough before doing a rainforest zip-line in Mexico. I made it like a third of the way through the course before I nearly collapsed from the heat. It's amazing how quickly it can shut you down.

    • @DinnerForkTongue
      @DinnerForkTongue ปีที่แล้ว

      Hydration is a veeery fine balance that you should always be on the excess side of. The body can deal much better with too much water than it can not enough of it.

    • @Polymathically
      @Polymathically ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DinnerForkTongue Yup, and that's why I always have at least one water bottle within reach. I usually go through at least four a day. My shirt is always drenched after a workout and I probably smell bad before showering, but at least I know my body is functioning properly.
