I'm Algerian living in québec, I would love to see you cooking Charmoula, chakhchoukha, or rechta, you'll definitely be head over heels 😍 your content is great, I miss my country.
Algerian cooking is distinguished due to the diversity of places and traditions in it, as if it were a continent. Every place is distinguished by its food, clothes, dance and music. I really advise you to visit it. Welcome to Algeria
You should try the tunisian version of Bourek, called Brik. It's done in a Triangular shape with a filling of mashed potatoes, tuna, parsley, oignons (you barely cook them), and a runny egg. Definitely worth a try.
Thank you so much for making our food, it is so rare that we see a foreigner actually cooking our food and appreciating it . U nailed it perfectly like just a normal local. WE LOVE YOU .
I smiled when you said "it's like rolling a cigar" because there's actually an algerian dessert that we call "cigar" and it's basically a sweet bourak filled with an almond stuffing then dipped in honey.
Well done , that dough is hard , we mainly buy it pre_ made here in Algeria because it's easier but you did from scratch , it looks amazing . Well done . More Algerian cuisine please ❤️❤️ love these videos
dude you actually made your own brik sheets... much respect!! i never made mine, always bought, but now i will definitely try to make them too, thanks!! PS : YES cinnamon in dishes/pastries is amazing!! thats one of the many special ingredients that makes algerian cuisine sooo good
Pretty fascinated that you've managed to make the whole recipe out of scratch. "Dyoul" or as is referred to as "Spring rolls" are generally hard to make so being able to pull that off is in itself an achievement. Can't wait to see the rest of Algerian dishes that you'll be making.
I know, right? I once ran out of dyoul and my big brain figured we can just make them at home. Girl, let me tell you, I failed miserably and none of them worked XD so it's actually pretty fascinating that he was able to make them from scratch!!

While traveling ( many years ago) through Europe and Africa I met a lot of amazingly beautiful people: locals and others traveling..Now, there are Wonderful people, and not so wonderful people everywhere, yet without question, the Canadians I met during my travels were the Friendliest, Kindest folks you could possibly want to meet, You, Jamie are a beautiful reflection of those folks.. The very best to you, and you lovely wife..
I advise you to watch the Mediterranean games that will start today in Algeria more specifically in ORAN, just to take a look about the beauty of Algeria ❤💜 good luck we love you dude 😎❤
I had the opportunity to explore Algeria from north to south, a true gastronomic and cultural continent. Each region, with its distinct dialects, offers an impressive richness and diversity. Every city has its own unique identity, traditions, and cuisine. Algerian gastronomy is a culinary treasure, boasting more than 300 different couscous recipes. The tchoutchouka, a delightful dish made with peppers and tomatoes, is a real treat. The pastries are incredibly varied, offering flavors and textures to satisfy every palate. I visited Kabylia, a mountainous region with a vibrant culture, and Algiers, where the Casbah presents a magnificent architectural spectacle. Ghardaia, known as the pearl of the desert, is remarkable for its Mzab people and well-preserved traditions. In Tipaza, Roman sites remind us of the country's ancient history and rich heritage.❤❤❤ Every city in Algeria is unique, providing a different experience with each visit. If you have the chance to discover this country, you will be amazed by its authentic cuisine and warm, unpretentious people deeply attached to their traditions.
I'm so impressed you made the wrappers from scratch. Reminds me of lumpia wrappers, super thin. Just different fillings than what we use for lumpia in the Philippines. Looks delish. I happen to have some lumpia wrappers in my fridge so I think I'll try making this soon.
