    Tarrlok and Noatak's murder-suicide is one of the heaviest scenes in the show for me, specially the way Noatak just sheds a tear and accepts it as if there wasn't any other way their story could end.
    I absolutely adored your reactions/discussions and I can't wait for you to continue this amazing series!

    Another comment: For taking Korra's bending, I think the implication is that Amon can only rob people of the bending that they have. Korra wasn't an airbender yet, so there was nothing for him to block. How she connects with airbending also directly references ATLA--the air chakra is unblocked by experiencing love. Korra unlocks her airbending when she sees Mako, someone she loves, about to be radically hurt.

    As you said Tarrlok and Noatok leaving to try and start again is just like Yakone, and I think Tarrlok knew that. He didn't want to risk them repeating Yakone's mistakes.
    Funny you should mention that was a dangerous place to be standing, There's a pretty Popular theory that Korra was considering jumping and letting the cycle start again, and I can see how the shot of the tear falling down the cliff could imply that to some people.

    • @Nyx_2142

      In filmography there's a technique to imply concepts and ideas via unnecessary and persistent camera angles. In the instance with korra's tear drop, it gave us a very prolonged and unnecessary view of the cliffside we already knew she was standing next to. Following the tear down and more clearly showing the depth of the cliffside was a perspective the viewer didn't need to have, but in showing this it's clearly trying to convey something to the viewer. Think of it like an expectant stare from someone who clearly wants something from you but doesn't want to say it; they instead hope that what you're seeing will be enough for you to infer their intended message.

    My thoughts on how Korra unlocked her airbending:
    From the time she was 4, Korra has had both external and internal expectation heaped on her as the new Avatar and successor to Aang, and the weight of this attachment to her duty (along with her headstrong nature) blocked her ability to airbend, which relies on _letting go_ . When Amon took her bending, she didn't view herself as the Avatar anymore. She was able to let go of her perception of who she thought she was and let her true self shine through (as Aang said: "when we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change") thus unlocking her airbending

    I wish Amon could last longer, People think he was a hypocrite and stupid but its much deeper, Noatak hated Bending focusing on it's negative aspects more which is fair from his POV and used the concept of 'equality' more as a propaganda, to rid bending, Amon hated his natural taste of power tried controlling using bloodbending as a tool to an end, but at somepoint he got lost..inside he realised he became(Amon) what he hated most(bending tyrant) and let himself be offed by his bro.

    In ATLA, even if you don't see them later, it's usually assumed that no one dies. Korra certainly isn't afraid of killing people, even on screen in the case of the two brothers.
    People also sometimes complain about the bender/non-bender plot not having legs, but that happens literally all the time in real life. Powerful movements are often undone when their leadership collapses.

  • @sohammitra1951
    @sohammitra1951 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

    We saw Noatak could sense people and movement due to blood, he LET his bro end him cuz inside he hated what he had become and decided after seeing Tarlokk that they could never truly change, Ironic since Water is supposed to be the element of change.

  • @DayBlueberry-F
    @DayBlueberry-F 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    So here we are, close to the "infamous" season 2. There's a lot to say about this season and the horrible treatment from Nickelodeon that the animators had.
    In this season the show was handled by a different team of animators to save money, you can tell there is much more stiffness in the first 6 episodes. But in episode 10 and onward they go back to the original team
    So many things happened with this show (and especially season 2 and 4) from the animators being told there wouldn't be a season 2, to then being told there would be a season 2 but it would be the final season of the show and they had to wrap everything up like season 1. A lot of people say it's the worst season of them all, of all of Avatar, but for me and so many others this is truly one of the best seasons, a 9/10 in my opinion. Especially if you know everything the team making the season had to deal with to make it happen. People are unforgiving and unempathetic and blame it all on the writers and animators, when the truth is that it was non of their fault, and they tried their best to make something worthwhile, and I truly believe they succeeded with season 2.

    Here's the thing. I doubt Amon/Noatak could have been able to take Tenzin and the kids bending, like he wasn't with Korra. My guess is that during his time out in the world, he likely first attempted to find one of the Lion Turtles so he could learn energy bending. He likely failed and then looked for alternatives. That's when he attempted to use bloodbending and found that it worked, and spent years on perfecting taking bending from others. But he would only have been able to practice on Water, Earth, and Firebenders since there were no other Airbenders to be had. Likely they each require different energies or blood vessels to be restricted in the brain, just like each bending art requires different techniques master. He might have been able to achieve it later on, but it was reckless to try it in front of a crowd.

    Season 2 is the worst season but not entirely because of the writers, for part of the episodes they use a different studio that's better at making a lot of episodes and not really quality so they swap to a better one for some of them.
