- The first 24 hours of our Staffordshire bull terriers Petra & Tommys litter of 8 gorgeous new born staffy puppies. We keep a 24 hr watch over them at this stage so we know they are all doing well, eating and mum is feeding everyone and eating herself. Its also important to make sure that mum doesn't accidentally sit on any or they get too cold. We feed her 4 meals a day now as she is providing for everyone.
Once she has finished the birthing we move them out of the whelping box, clean it, put the heat pad in and fresh bedding so its nice and clean and comfortable for her. She soon settles back in and starts to tend to her puppies. She is very comfortable with us handling the pups but wont allow any of the dogs in yet. She is a very attentive mum and loves the whole puppy experience. The puppies are born with their eyes and ears shut so are blind and deaf at this stage. They find their way to mum by smell.

Wonderful puppies, Happy New year, Happy 2025 !, but I ask you to be conscious and reconsider what you are doing. Stafford shire are a strong breed and most people are not qualified to own one, if they attack a small or medium dog is over for them. Also since the economy been bad for most people for the past 3 years, most people are not looking to purchase puppies or dogs, is the opposite most people are dumping and abandoning their dogs and cats in the streets and shelters , so many are doing that and millions of dogs and cats are killed every year because not enough good families or permanent homes for them, please be part of the solution and not contribute to euthanization of beautiful dogs.
