Spot on Col with the scams, unfortunately, where there's tourists, there's roguery, however, I must say, Krakow is one of the safest cities I've ever visited, but like anywhere, be vigilant. Twenty years since I first visited and been back so many times, your videos are sound.

What is your point with Money exchange places??? Of course buy rate is different than sell rate. This is how they work, how they make money on that difference. And they advertise buy rate on front door as this in Poland so most clients are Polish people buying foreign currency. How is that a scam???

In Krakow the Majority of people changing Money are Foreigners changing GBP £ or Euros 💶 to Polish Zloty, it is a Tourist city with around 20 million tourists per year. Many of the currency exchanges advertise a Rate outside which is to Change Polish money to GBP or Euros which is Misleading and many tourists felt Misled…. The currency exchanges make Big Big money by sneaky tricks like this

Yeah, luckily me and my girlfriend have brains and we never fell for these scams. I think we gave the first guy 2 zloty in the box which i'm okay with.
Then like 5 other people said the exact same thing on the same day. And we was like "Alright, this is a bit dodgy. They aren't getting anything now."
It's a shame that some people who are running scams like that are ruining charitys for people who might actually need it.

@@travelwithcol4625 So you consider law enforcement a scam? 😉 I guess some people in Poland would've agree.
Fortunatelly things have changed - most people do not cross on red, those who do are usually also be frowned upon by others. It's a matter of safety. For me personally what works even better (than potential ticket/fine) are those crossings where you see on the opposit side a sign saying "Crossing on green you give an example to children" 🤗.

@pluki1357 most of my Subscribers are from UK & Abroad. In Poland yet get a Fine for crossing the road but in the UK and most other countries there is no law making it illegal to cross the road on the wrong light. It was to make Tourists aware so they can prepare for different Laws so they do not get a Big Fine like I did. I was at Plac Ghetta when the Police fined me, I could not find the place to cross the road and it was an unpleasant experience.. did you watch my other tours?

    • @pluki1357
      @pluki1357 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@withcol4625 Looks like there is a whole world to be discovered for you/your fellow countrymen here 🤣.
At Plac Bohaterów Getta there is not even a crossing with traffic lights. So you could not have got the fine for crossing on red light. The fine must have been for crossing not on the designated place for crossing. That's another rule here: in a built-up area (town/city/village) you are legally obliged to cross only on crossings that are marked on the street - white painted strips (we call them "zebras" 😆). The rule does NOT apply where there is no "zebra" within 100 meters.
If further than 100 m from a "zebra" you are legally obliged to (1) cross at a 90 degre angle to the axis of the street (2) give way to any incoming traffic and (3) do not cause danger to traffic.
BTW: it was even in the local newspaper about that spot at Pl. Bohaterów Getta that Municipal Guards / the Police keep an eye there. Many people there going out of the tram did not want to go to the pedestrian crossing or to the underground passage there and were cutting corners by going straight to the opposit side - running accross the street, which is no allowed there.

Got a feeling this is your first time in Krakow, plenty of scams like these are all over Europe actually, but the little difference in Krakow is what you've missed out on. The people approaching you at night trying to get you into a 'titty bar' are on commission as well, they're quite lenient towards tourists, inspectors on the tram will usually let you off, even the Police won't fine you at times, you will get some people over-charging you sneakily still.

I wonder what sane person goes to a strip bar in the middle of the night, trusting that it will be half-price? Or go to a bar with unknown girls to buy them a drink? If they want to have a drink with you so much - agree as long as they pay :) These are some basics, like thanking guys on the street in Lisbon when they first offer you fake branded sunglasses, and if you don't want them, they ask you , or maybe you would like a plot of heroin :)
Guys who fly from England to Krakow to drink English or Irish beer also make me laugh. Guinness is a rare and luxury good in Poland, because no one drinks it en masse - it has to be shipped from Great Britain or Ireland, and the demand for this beer in Poland is weak - so it's no wonder that it can be expensive, even in these supermarkets that offer them. When you come to Poland, try the local beer, which, except in super popular tourist places, you can get it in a pub for one and a half or two pounds. And drink Guinness in Liverpool.
If you are going to create material, at least don't mislead the viewers: the fine for traveling without a valid ticket in Krakow is not "hundreds and hundreds of zlotys", but 240 zlotys, or less than 50 pounds. And this is not scam, it is simply the law.
Similarly with crossing the road: a fine for crossing the road outside the designated places ("zebra") - PLN 50 (about 8 pounds), and for crossing a red light: PLN 200 tops not 300!. It's very good that we have such a law - the number of pedestrian accidents decreases every year, especially since pedestrians have priority at crossings.
As for the fact that they add PLN 4 for milk for tea, or add a few PLN for butter for bread - check the menu first. Such a service is probably marked there. The café does not receive milk or butter for free from donors. Alternatively, go to cafes that are friendlier and you can get things like milk for tea or butter for free. But it doesn't hurt to check the menu or ask the waiter.
By the way, it's nice that you encourage people to visit Poland and Krakow, that's great. However, don't overdo these risks. For example, in Poland we have on average about 260 murders a year - in Great Britain - over 600, including an increasing number of murders with a knife. In 2022, there were about 260 of them, the highest number since 1946. Taking into account that the population of Poland is approximately 40 million (including Ukrainian refugees), and the population of Great Britain is approximately 66 million.

      Thanks 🙏 for your Opinions
I live in Krakow, a pint of beer at most bars costs 20-30 zloty €5-8 in 2024 there are a few cheap pubs but the vast majority are expensive now
The feedback I get is that in Poland the vodka is high quality but most foreigners don’t like the polish beer, I for one just can’t drink it
Prices are much much cheaper in all of the other Polish Cities, Krakow is expensive because greedy business owners want to exploit tourists
With regards to the Strip Club Scammers, I meet people every day who have been scammed, sales reps target naive tourists with high pressure sales techniques at night when they are under the influence of alcohol so it is easier to scam, it is run by organized crime gangs. There are Lots of sales reps on Florianska, Jana, Szewska and Maly Rynek at night
Single men are likely to buy an unknown girl a drink ;) that’s normal when you meet a pretty girl
In Krakow there are extra charges for Milk, Butter etc because it is a tourist city, you probably will not get these unexpected charges in other Polish cities. Tea was 16 zloty and they charged me 4 zloty extra for milk (€5) for a cup of tea.. here in Liverpool it is €2 maximum. Coffee is expensive in Krakow too €4-7. Many restaurants have started to Add 10-15% Service charge on Top of your bill now too unfortunately
Inflation is Krakow is the Highest I have seen in any country and I have been to 65 Countries, people told me that the owners met and colluded to charge high prices together
I agree that tourists should follow Polish laws but I want to raise awareness of some of these Laws before they arrive to avoid unexpected Fines
I have lots of Tours on my Channel from lots of Polish Cities where I promote Poland as the Best Country for a Holiday but this Tour focuses on the Scams to Avoid to prepare people before they arrive. I want you to show both sides not only the positives

@@travelwithcol4625 I have no ambition for Poland to attract tourists from abroad with cheap beer prices. If beer is cheaper and better, according to them, in the UK, let them stay there and drink it there. If you don't like Polish beer - no problem, let them drink it where they like it. By the way, tourists who come to Poland because they expect cheap food, beer and easy girls can also stay at home or go, for example, to Thailand.
You don't convince me with this argument that when you see a pretty girl, you immediately want to fall in love with her. This applies to any country you visit.
There are plenty of scams lurking in tourism all over the world. Kraków, Warsaw and Wrocław are no exceptions. Just don't be unconscious drunk and use some common sense. Which, it seems, many British weekend tourists, especially those who come to Poland for a stag party, fail to achieve. And you have to pay for the mistakes of your own idiocy :)

      @jarosawklejnocki6633 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@travelwithcol4625 8 pounds is about 50 zlotys today. Is that really how much a beer costs in Krakow? You have to go to bad bars that screw you for money. Even at the airport in Warsaw, and we know that prices at airports are extremely inflated, a beer costs PLN 28 :), which is about £5 plus extra. Please research the area before you write or say anything.
4 zlotys for milk is equivalent to 0.7 pounds, not five pounds, my dear. 16 zlotys is around 2.8 pounds. Please do some research before you publish anything.
If you want to tell British tourists how to cope in Poland, and in addition, as I assume, you earn money by consulting and giving tours around Poland, be honest and don't tell fairy tales.
It's great that you live here and encourage British people to visit Poland, but I would ask you not to base the popularity of your channel on some fabricated information.

Krakow is a nice city with lots of things to see and do but it is the most expensive Polish city and Inflation is Very High, I have been to other Polish cities and it was much safer with No Scams like this and half the price.
Wine 🍷 is very very expensive in Krakow, 120-200 zloty per bottle, it is half the price in other EU countries and Designer clothes, watches etc are crazy expensive compared to what I pay in the Uk. Rent is also expensive now too!
Tourists have made lots of business owners rich in Krakow and provided lots of jobs for locals. The Council need to do more to deal with scams such as the strip club scam and turn Krakow into a Safer place to protect the tourists
I didn’t meet any tourists who came to Poland for easy girls.. I met tourists who came because they thought it was a good value city break and upon arrival they were disappointed by the High Prices
The bars buy International beers at extremely low prices from the Wholesaler, even in the supermarket it is Cheap then the Bars say it’s Import and charge a High Price to milk as much money out of the tourists as possible with high margins

A bottle of wine for PLN 100 or PLN 200? But what wine and where? Like exquisite wine - yes, and like in a pub on the market square - also possible. In St. Mark Square in Venice will also be expensive and the wine, even if it's not the best, will have a ridiculous price.
Inflation in Krakow is neither higher nor lower than in the rest of the country, while the free market means, if I am not mistaken, that demand and supply remain in a healthy relationship: if a restaurateur sets exorbitantly high prices in his premises and customers are willing to pay - that's their problem, but it's not a scam. You can simply walk a few streets away from the most popular locations and the prices will be lower.
And strip joints always smell suspiciously - no matter whether they are in Krakow, Texas or Marbella. But again - they are legal and whoever goes there takes responsibility. I don't really understand how the authorities - city or state - would protect drunks who went there and paid huge bills. They didn't have to go there and they didn't have to pay.
Krakow is probably the most popular tourist city in Poland and, similarly to other places of this type: Czech Prague, Venice, Paris and Lisbon - it is expensive in the central and most popular places. Krakow is visited by about 10 - 12 million tourists a year, so there is no point in comparing it with Liverpool, visited by at most 1 million. And even so, it is not the most expensive city in Poland - in Warsaw, much less popular for tourists, it is even more expensive: from apartment rentals, hotel prices, to prices in restaurants in the Old Town.

Maybe they are.. I’m not sure what country they are from but yes I would guess from Ukraine. It’s hard to know which ones are real and which ones are scammers.. they are very pushy and use hard sell sales techniques so I think the are Business Men behind it.
