Thank you for the video, I've got one of these kits on order. Definitely going to use you modification to get the rear end down. I'm going to have to get different wheels, not loving the four slots. I'm 64 now and remember building all of the Modified Stockers when they originally came out. I also remember those big tires on race cars around where I grew up. They called them "humpers".

Looks like the famous or infamous Smokey Yunick 7/8 scale Nascar..... same number & everything, tires are definitely short track Saturday night 😉
Now I'll watch the video... maybe you will even bring up the classic piece of Nascar history 😎
Great job with the build... yes it's a modified dirt stocker for sure... well done !
The colors & number just reminded of Smokey's real life scaled down trick that actually worked .... but not for long once they put it side by side with a full sized car 😆 what a genius that man was ! 😎

This is an urban legend. The car was not 7/8 scale. Just the front clip was highly massaged. This has been blown way out of proportion and the "legend" has been falsely perpetrated throughout the years. It's high time this false story was stopped.
In truth, if Smokey’s Chevelle were a true 7/8 size, it would be almost 10 inches narrower and more than two feet shorter than a full-scale version. The wheelbase would be only 100 inches; the track 50 inches. The car would be the size of a Chevette, not a Chevelle, and would have been spotted within seconds of being unloaded. NASCAR officials may be stupid at times but they sure aren't blind.
The nose was massaged, and the body was shifted rearward on the chassis two inches, and that's it. No scale model Chevelle LOL...
