I’ve looked at the website. I am genuinely interested in any kind of incentive or reason beyond calling myself, a realtor. Because the offers that they have, for example, like healthcare and dental or homeowners insurance none of it is any difference or competitive it’s pretty much the same fees and offers that I already get as an individual.
Can someone please explain exactly what do we get when as agents we are required to pay this national association of realtor fee with offices that require membership there are no clear incentives other than to call ourselves realtors so basically I work out 1500 bucks on the year to call myself a realtor?

Not a fan of the hierarchy here, c.a.r on its own would be worth the money but sorry I’m not paying for local state and national just to get c.a.r which would be the only I’d actually call beneficial. You can get all forms you need for transactions off other sites and get the information plus more help marketing with subscription sites and pay less.
I practice real estate years ago with an office that did require this fee and I did pay it at that time. I also question with the reason was given that the MLS in this specific area was not associated or required a realtor fee as they do in a lot of places in California, and it is a huge fee to have to cover especially as a new agent. For example, on top of everything else we have to pay what’s the point of it if no one can actually explain the value of it.

Thanks so much Chuck! This was a great interview and provided a bunch of amazing info about CAR, NAR, and TAR (haha).
