I am still pondering my first brisket with the prices of them. I am scared to death that I am going to mess it up but I'm going to give it a shot one of these days. Great job Ken! Looks delicious
NICE JOB MY MAN!!!!! I am seriously eyeballing this grand champ, for the money to have an offset to learn on I think is well worth it. I have been grilling and low and slow BBQing on my little Weber kettle for 10 plus years now, time for an upgrade. Thank You for this video on the grand champ and congrats on you first and successful Brisket cook!!! I have my 4th one in the fridge right now wet aging a bit until I am ready to cook in the AZ heat. Thank again!!! 👊🏼🙏🏼🇺🇸
I had a grand champ great smoker I would try tuning plates or turning the main chamber charcoal grate upside down I never tried either but I think that would be good too
Hi Chuck! That is Prime 6 charcoal. It a very high end, dense,, restaurant quality charcoal. It burns hotter and last longer that any other charcoal I have used.
I have a Grand Champ XD. Did you use your smoker in any special configuration? (Ash pan upside down, special homemade baffling, etc) My rookie attempt at a brisket is going to be soon.
@@KenRogersMostlyOutdoors Just lost my brisket virginity (October 25th 2022). Thanks to your video, it went better than I anticipated. Set my Grand Champ XD just like you have yours, and went for it. It was my longest cook ever. But, was worth it. Compliments from my in-laws and their friends. Can't wait to do it again.
That’s a good question… unfortunately my grill cover is still iced over and I can’t measure it at the moment… I will have to get back to you on this one. It’s pretty big though compared to the other Char-Griller grills.
Nice job looks great 👍
Looks great to me. Thanks for sharing Ken!!
Thanks, Larry! I'm not calling this perfect, but I was very satisfied for my first cook.

That was a fun cook and it was quite tasty! Thanks!
Looks awesome brother
Thanks, Billy... It came out pretty good!
You need to rotate the point 90 degrees when slicing it, grain goes the other way in comparison to the flat
I know that now! Lol
On that day when I did my first Brisket… not so much. Lol. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, I'm going to smoke my very first brisket too in a few weeks😁 take care
Awesome! I hope it’s the best Brisket ever!
I had a grand champ great smoker I would try tuning plates or turning the main chamber charcoal grate upside down I never tried either but I think that would be good too
I’ve considered getting some tuning grates… thanks!
What brand charcoal did you use? Thanks

I just used the smoker as it comes. I made no changes at all. Just have fun with the first one. It will get better as you do more.

@@pblackjac Awesome! I’m so glad to hear it went well. I’m really enjoying the Grand Champ. It does a great job. Thanks!
Only criticism I have is that you didn't send any my way ooowee she looks good!
Lol… Thanks!
What size is the main cooking grate?

Nice!
Thank you!
Sorry was that fat? How did you make it liquid?
You just take your fat trimmings, put them in a crock pot on low. After awhile, it renders down into Tallow… good stuff!
lid open all the time, a wonder it cooked
Lol… yep, it was open the whole 15 minutes of this cook!
You sliced the point in the wrong direction.
Tasty flop no worries
That one came out pretty good, Thanks!
