When I saw the name "Hoffman" in the title, I didn't even bother watching the video. I knew I had to head straight for the comments. From Todd not being able to mine his way out of a wet paper bag to Old Man Jack pocketing half the cleanup, they did not disappoint.
With Jack in charge of the weigh ins ,the numbers of gold they bring in will mysteriously be depleted. He's about as trust worthy as a carnival worker .

Todd is the guy that talks you into some “great adventure”, only to have you realize once you’re miles from home that he has absolutely no clue what he’s doing, and he only brought you along because he thought you knew what you were doing. Now you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of guys that all thought somebody knew what was going on, and at some point everyone realizes they have no clue what’s going on, so they start calling people hoping they can help them figure out what’s going on.
That is literally every season Todd has spent mining, ever.
He always finds a way to go broke, regardless of any gold he finds. He always screws up anything good he gets going. That’s why he is struggling to run someone’s old broken down mine, while Parker is doing weekly cleanups bigger than what Todd has mined all year.
Don’t count on Todd. He lets down everyone that works for him on a regular basis. You can do better.

I highly doubt that the ground is that rich,besides u cant assume after a few buckets of material that its going to pay like that. The next step i would take before running a single yard is to review any old drill reports and if there isnt enough info from old reports then i would drill it myself. 70 ounces a hundred? Why did the old timers leave it? I would guess that its only rich like that in a few spots and the rest is average otherwise the current owners would mine it themselves,nobody would give up rich ground like that, nobody.
@@s.d.iprospecting4359 the current owners probably have no connection to mining, and just see valuable land that people are willing to gamble big bucks on. They probably just want their 100% guaranteed paycheck for selling the land, effort of finding gold be damned.

I remember the 14 year old Parker laughing at Todd because he was selling him firewood at triple the price. Todd was too lazy to chop firewood in the middle of a forest. That was the same season when Parker said "you don't run your fingers through fine gold because it will stick to your fingers and you will lose it". Parker at 14 was smarter than Todd is now.
Tod had the chance to talk to kings like Parker and chose the stubborn way .so his path is his own
Old Jack should know about that claim, he was the clean up guy for the old timers there 1908. Got caught skimming gold off the top and run out of town in 1909! Didn’t have time to take his gold he had buried just near the old rocker box.

I wish i had the opportunity that the hoffmans have squandered over the years! The kid says it is not worth it to come back unless its legendary ground? Give me a break! Anybody can mine "legendary ground" Being a miner means you take good years with the bad and have no excuses,if u fail then u change your ways and learn from your mistakes! The hoffmans had great ground over the years , they had great equipment and great crews,so why did they fail so often? They do not know how to move dirt or k ow how to prospect new ground,they are not vested in mining for the long haul IMO.
They need a write off! Look at all the new stuff everywhere. Take a loss. They fly everywhere, their families all have nice vehicles and I'd actually like to see their houses. They are not doing bad. His kid supposedly respects what the old timers went through... Well then why would he run that Nodwell in that shape? AND KEEP RUNNING IT!!! If they were pressed for money, they would treasure that piece of equipment... not run it into the ground for a couple buckets of dirt that he could have gotten with a 4 wheeler. Less gas, less drama and more common sense. That would make for bad TV ratings 🙄

It actually fasle represents mining and prospecting,when they left mining and one day decided to get back into it? Not many miners get that opportunity to get a 2nd chance let alone a 3rd or 4th chance like these guys have had. Clearly we know who is in charge of the purse strings,lol if i sound jealous then guilty as charged,Hunter has no idea the opportunity that is right in front of him or the past opportunity he and the rest of them have taken for granted. You are correct about Todd's idea for Gold Rush. But, he has had no influence or involvement with Tony or Parker, they were already successful gold miners before the show ever started.
