People have always thought that "Amoretto" the name referred to a three girl group.That was never intension. I am on the cover of the my record sleeve, on all flyers and photo shoots in the center, surrounded by the girls in the group, that I hired because I wanted to give an overall sexy image to the project "Amoretto" as a whole. The girls on the cover were not the recorded vocalist on the record. The record company listed these girls as background vocalist on the record. PKO was a new record company. So they made plenty of mistakes in the administration of the cover and production. Jeanette's name was listed inaccurately as well. She was listed as Janet Martinez. "Amoretto" has always been my alter Ego, its the name I chose to use when ever I made this kind of music. I'm an Artist, song writer & record Producer. I have been involved with so many different kinds of music in my life. Hip hop, House, R&B, pop, and latin rock. "Amoretto" means, My little loved one and this project in particular became my favorite. Jeanette De Jesus is an incredible vocalist. She never wanted to perform with other vocalist. I didn't know that when we were recording her vocals. But what this record is about is the song as a whole and me as an artist producer like the artists "Yanni" or John Tesh. It is there because I chose all the elements and people that are on this song. I am and will always be "Amoretto" Rae Serrano aka Mr. Amoretto, regardless of what ever Artist I choose to work with. That is why there is so much confusion about who "Amoretto" is. The fact is that Mr. Amoretto's flavor of music is a special kind of music and a lot of people out there wish to take it away from me, by confusing my original intent. It's a music about the experiences in my life, my background and no one can take credit for that, but me. If you go to an Amoretto concert or gig my name Amoretto Rae Serrano will always be attached to the show and I will always be there whether I am or not on stage performing, just like I did in the beginning. I am uneasy about an encounter with the so called Amaretto Group in the 1980's at 1018 in NYC. WOW!!! The tall slim girl who pretended to sing Jeanettes part handed me a picture of the group. And after all these years I thought she was the REAL Amaretto!!! OMG!!! I don't know what to say at this point however Jeanette you have a great voice. Please show us your vocal talents either on youtube or in a NYC club tomorrow. LOL...Honey you have such a great voice please do not keep it a secret. Check out the youtube video of Hector Lavoe at the Paladium in 1988. I was there fort that one also.Love always John
This song has and will always be a classic to me because Jeanette is the original no one else can sound like her. Only wish she could get the credit she deserves for her amazing God given vocals, but no sweat Jeanette, you still got it and Rae you still d man with this production....peace and God bless.
