      Omg thank you so much for those kind words. I love Star Wars and I love the toys especially talking about them. Those toys got me through some rough times as a kid and I’m thankful for it. When I say I’m humbled by the positive feedback I’ve received I truly mean it. The fans are “the reason why I do what I do”. Thank you again

    It is good to pass along that knowledge. When I was a kid in the 70s/80s, I did pick up experience kind of without knowing it. You just learn things like which blaster goes with each figure and you have a catalog of what figures came out and when they came out. Nice retrospective man.

    I think the “last 17” label was created by European collectors, since Paploo and Lumat were never released on European ROTJ cards. And since those collectors were the first ones to coin the phrase, that’s the one that stuck.
    For me personally, I owned Paploo, Lumat, and the mail-away Anakin for over a year before I even knew the POTF line existed. So I’ve never considered those three as part of Power of the Force. But I’ve been debating online about the inaccuracy of the “last 17” name for over 20 years and eventually I just gave up on it.

    • @DougAlan-atswc

      Thank you for your take on the whole “last 17” debate. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who thinks this way. Another collector mentioned the Tri Logo argument as well which is very prudent to the discussion but for collectors in the US, it’s pretty apparent my video isn’t too far off the mark. I was there as a collector in 1978 through 1986. I considered the 3 figures of the Rebo Band as a part of the 1984 line. The two Ewoks Lumat and Paploo came out in 1984 in their own wave bringing the number up to 17. Then, Anakin was the mail away with the Sears exclusives Barada, EV -9D9, and Amanaman at the end of 1984. Those three were only temporarily exclusive to Sears in their Christmas catalog and the 2nd issue Jabba Dungeon.

      Great memory. You certainly know your stuff. It’s funny how the Rebo Band isn’t included in the “collect all 92” as they certainly were action figures that you had to have in your collection. Appreciate the recollection of your fond memories and thanks for watching. MTFBWY

    2 things killed the Star Wars line. The first was that so many figures came with sticks instead of guns. In the original line any alien could be a bounty hunter with a gun. The second and bigger issue was GI Joe was such a juggernaut from 84-86.

    • @DougAlan-atswc

      @Magnumrex, I had started getting Joes in 83. Spent all my toy efforts on them after I got my first two one night (parents brought home Destro and Snowjob). I recall seeing (must have been January 1985) a bin that was maybe close to chest height for me as a nine year old, and it was filled with the ROTJ figures all a dollar each. I am pretty sure I had recently gotten a hooded cobra commander in the mail, and my parents were not having it when I asked for a couple of the Star Wars guys that day, Christmas was not long past either. What struck me was there were hundreds of figures in that bin, and they were only a bucks each.

    • @solo353
      @solo353 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Disagree the lack of weapons killed the line. I bought them first time round. Star Wars simply died off and I do agree that Action Force/Gi Joe stepped in.
      Jedi was ‘83 and the line fell off 2/3 years later. Kids got older, younger kids eyed up the new stuff.

    No, a Cloud Car Pilot is way more expensive than a Anakin figure. A Anakin figure is one of the cheapest figure in the entire line. Hell, a loose Cloud Car Pilot communicator is more expensive than a Anakin figure.
