As a seasoned trophy hunter I don't know why its taken so long for me to discover your show but its quickly become my favourite, congrats on the platinum this was really fun to watch
Ah man, dead space 2 platinum ! What a difficult platinum. I also have this platinum, took my around 9 tries. I’d even sell the game out of frustration then re buy it a few years later to “attempt” the hard to the core trophy. In 2014 I finally achieved this platinum. Even though nowadays it’s not classed as one of the hardest platinums anymore, it’s definitely one of my proudest platinums. I’m glad you shared your adventure Adam, I can fully sympathise with you. I like dead space 2 but dead space 1 truly was an amazing PS3 era horror game. As for dead space 3, it’s a 5/10.
Haha, selling the game in frustration. I've been there. Congratulations on the platinum. We know each other's pain. I agree, Dead Space 1 is something special. Dead Space 3 is a massive disappointment.
I seriously can't stress enough how amazing of evergreen content the Platinum Journey series is, like these videos will never age or ever get repetitive. The only thing that happens is your video production and editing skills get better and better, along with the episodes getting bigger and more challenging as well. For me though, out of all of them, I think this one will always be your magnum opus and my personal favourite. The perfect challenge, a game you're really good at similar to the Last Of Us episodes, great editing with the session times and a thrilling climax as you get your revenge. It's just amazing to see how far you've come man, to tackling even tougher and grindier games with Bloodborne, MGS2 and GTA Vice City recently, this series is infinitely rewatchable, thank you so much for making it.
I really appreciate your kind words. Having a series being called "evergreen" is a huge compliment. I have a soft spot for the Dead Space 2 episode too. Thank you for watching!

+Adam McDermott Good to know! I've also acquired the platinum trophy for ds2, as well as for the two other ds games, so you can probably understand why I enjoy watching this video so much xD
I love seeing this enormous challenge of beating hardcore mode on Dead Space 2 early on in the Platinum Journey series, this is definitely one of my favorite videos of yours, it was filled with many funny and entertaining moments, even though they caused stress for you at the time, it was still enjoyable for you to watch, there's no way that I could ever begin to have the patience and skill to beat that kind of a challenge
Thank you. I'm quite proud of this episode, took ages to make but so worth it. I love how folks are still enjoying the episode all these years later :)

I've been putting this off for 12 years. DS2 is one of my favourite games of all time and I have every trophy except hard core. One playthrough is all that stands between me and the platinum. So I dusted off my old PS3 and I'm going for it. Made it to the Church in chapter 4 which is my planned first save. Watching this for moral support. UPDATE: Got the platinum. DS2 hardcore on a console is a throphy im really proud to own. In general, i liked DS 1 alot more than the second one, but after the hardcore mode, i learned to aprecciate alot more the game, since i was able to pay alot more attention to details. But i did zealot first, trying not to save at all to understand where i struggle the most and plan ahead my hardcore run (saving before the parts i believe are the hardest), died lots of times and saved 4 times, hardcore was still a challenge, but i knew what i had to do. Great video! Watched pretty much every video you have made except those games I don't want to get spoiled. But I've never seen you as frustrated as you are in this video :D Really fun to watch!! hehe
Yeah, this was probably the most visibly frustrated I got in an episode. I knew I could do it, but kept getting screwed. Made for an entertaining video in the end :)
Dead space 1 one of my favourite games of all time. Dead space 2 could just about be my absolute favourite. I have completed them both numerous times, first on 360 then on backwards compatibility on the one X where I completed impossible mode on 1 and the insanely difficult tedious hardcore mode on 2. But I saw the light last year and have made the switch to PlayStation (for any serious single player game lover it’s a no brainier) I acquired an old ps3 for my bedroom mainly for the blu Ray drive but I just had to have the dead space platinum trophies on there. Currently working my way through dead space 1 and I’ve just done the asteroid shoot out mini game, after many attempts. It’s amazing how brilliant these game are. Firstly for wanting to play them after 12/10 years. And secondly just how well they still stand up. I do think they have a lot of fans but I also think they are massively under rated in the larger gaming community. Cool vids mate, nice to see someone else loving dead space all these years later. 👌🏼
Just finished Dead Space 2 twice amazing game by the way, and found your channel, great job i think I watched all your Platinum Journey videos yesterday.
Im also my platinum trophies, but I have to say,Seeing this video, made me a true believer that not trophie is impossible. I finished my Platinum in Dead Space 1 and now going for the second one. Mr. Mcdermott, thanks for the inspiration. Keep up the good work.
I can totally understand what you went though lol , I literally had my heart beating 3 times during my Doom ultra nightmare mode run :3 Congratulations although its 4 years late. You are an amazing gamer :D
When I was getting the platinum for Alien: Isolation and I ended up having to play an extra playthrough I remembered this video and you spending hours replaying sections on hardcore mode and that made the thought of having to replay the game again not so bad, thank you Adam 🙏🏼👍🏼
I played this on Zealot recently without any upgrades and plasma cutter only. For that one room you got stuck in, I noticed the easiest way is to rush into the power node room and camp in the end of the room. They will all spawn from the same airvent and you can easily stasis and cut their limbs off quickly. One stasis charge was enough to take them all out and took no damage.
I just finally did Hard Core the other day and I know how you felt man. I died on chapter 13 during the wave of enemies after the drill and was so mad because my save point was at the beginning of chapter 8. So naturally I used my last save right before the drill the next time, but then I didn't die again. Man my heart was beating during the eye poke machine and the final chase scene.
I started recently again D.S.2 to get the rest of the trophies and of course to beat it in hardcore and get the platinum... but watching that video... well... I don't think so... I will break down the TV.... that's for sure... Well done my friend.
+Γιώργος TdR Haha, there were numerous moments where I was also on the verge of breaking something. Sure give Hard Core mode a try at least and hopefully you won't find it nearly at tortuous as I did :)
I know the feeling bro. Its hard and extremely disappointing. But the reward thereafter is exhilarating. I love watching all your platinum walkthroughs. I wish i could add you up on PSN.
I did all the achievements about 7/8 years ago on the Xbox 360. I remember my hardcore playthrough, it was epic. On Xbox there were 2 discs for the game so you could finish disc 1 which got to the start of chapter 7 or 8 and it counted as a save so it gave you an extra save technically. The reward and satisfaction of beating hardcore was awesome, the finger gun is the best and most fun gun/weapon I’ve used in any game.
This was amazing! It inspired me to get this game I drove 45 minutes just to get it... I’m absolutely determined to platinum this game I’m starting hardcore mode tomorrow, ughhhh that’s gonna suck. Anyway your vids are outstanding can’t wait for the return!
1 great video and some parts where funny :)) 2 is sad that there isnt anymore Deadspace game that you do the journey and we enjoy those videos :/ 3 Im not a trophy hunter usually but your channel is just amazing keep on keeping on, CHEERS 🍻 .
Adam your video make me love dead space again. And I already platinum Dead Space, Dead Space Extraction and Today I platinum Dead Space 2. But it was thanks to your video that I start this journey. Thanks Adam, next stop platinum Dead Space 3 ^^
Platinumed Dead Space and Dead Space 2 this October. This is the video that inspired me to go for them both. Two of the most rewarding platinums I've earned.
When I did hardcore mode I saved at Unitology (just before Daina), the solar array just before Tiedemann cuts of the oxygen and the start of the government sector. Hardcore mode is a very tense mode to play but very satisfying once completed. Hardcore mode on DS3 is even more frustrating due to the one hit kills from Unitologists with rocket launchers and you have to complete it without dying.
slightlytwistedagain Interesting save points. Saving before Daina is certainly too far for me. How many tries did it take you to get there? Yeah, very satisfying to complete. I haven't played Dead Space 3 yet. Rocket launchers?! On Hardcore mode! No thank you. Fair play to you for beating it.
Adam McDermott I think it was about eight times, died more around the first chapter and it was the same spot you did when you pick up the stasis. Government sector I had a hell of a time playing that, the pagoda section kept on fucking me up all the time and I was wasting so much ammo. I later got the idea to just run past them all and kill the brute as fast as possible. Also that grab by Issac's girlfriend happened to me in hardcore and it was the first time it ever happened to me. I was raging for about half an hour after that because the needle kept on killing me. Must have spent about 20-30 times just doing those last three chapters.
Yikes eight times. Yeah, that stasis spot is a bitch. Yeah, you just have to run in the government section. Otherwise it is an endless nightmare. Wow. 20-30 times. I wouldn't have a controller left by then and the console would probably be smashed too. It's impressive that you kept going.
Adam McDermott It's was around the stasis spot and the train bit where you have those exploding necromorphs. They killed me a few times and I was getting crushed by the train if you don't kill the brute fast enough.
You only need to beat the game 1 time on casual, then you can beat it on zealot with new game plus. Have fun with Hardcore mode. Only advice I can give you is to follow a walkthrough so you always know what to expect in every area and to take it very slow. The first really tough fight you have is the first encounter with the stalkers in Chapter 5. You want your first save to be late Chapter 6 or early Chapter 7.
I’m currently tackling hardcore. This is the most stressful thing I’ve done in gaming so far. I keep watching this video to give me motivation. Had to use my last save on ch 11 before elevator in the mines. I’m not giving this up. Truly great game though 😆
Took me four days to beat hardcore mode, Two days I took off when I died the heart ache was real. I watched pro runs religiously studied the exploits and finally beat it. My heart was pounding so fast and I even broke out in a sweat. And that eye machine had me so focused I could have heard a pin drop. Love this game but damn hard core mode nearly broke me.
Taking two days because of the heartache of Hard Core mode, I feel your pain. That eye machine might be one of the most intense moments of any game, especially considering the consequences if you fail. Fair play to your beating it.
Did this on 360 with my last save being right on the machine. Went through the entirety of the Drill ride and Ishimira in one try for the laser room in the government sector to show me who's boss
Probably my most proud platinum. Form my hazy memory, I used quite different save points though. I think I saved at 7, end of 11 and at the eye poke machine. Xbox owners had this one easy, as they got a free save at the start of the second disk!
They fixed that glitch as I found to my demise. Got there with one save at chapter 5 and didn't care about dying after that. When I did die it said please insert disc one. Lots of swearing later and away I went again. That is still my favourite Achievement. Great video Adam
Your Dead Space 2 platinum journey has the potential of becoming a true gaming classic.😂 👏

+Γιώργος TdR Haha, there were numerous moments where I was also on the verge of breaking something. Sure give Hard Core mode a try at least and hopefully you won't find it nearly at tortuous as I did :)
That was extraordinary, Sir.
Thank you.
I know the feeling bro. Its hard and extremely disappointing. But the reward thereafter is exhilarating. I love watching all your platinum walkthroughs. I wish i could add you up on PSN.
Now that's a man who said you know what your getting the finger once and for all .
Your amazing man keep making these!
Cheers!
So true, the finger gun is an amazing reward for a grueling playthrough.
Just got it platinum, Had to come back to this video for inspiring me to go for it
Congrats on the platinums. Honoured I could inspire you.
Dude that final boss is so hard lol Iirc i couldn't do it on normal when I tried back then. Major Congrats!
Cheers!
This was amazing! It inspired me to get this game I drove 45 minutes just to get it... I’m absolutely determined to platinum this game I’m starting hardcore mode tomorrow, ughhhh that’s gonna suck. Anyway your vids are outstanding can’t wait for the return!
Thank you for the kind words. Best of luck on Hardcore Mode. You will doubt yourself at times but stick with it. The satisfaction is worth it.
Nobody:

Yeah, pity Dead Space is over.
I'm honoured you enjoy my videos despite not usually being a trophy hunter. Cheers!
28:17 mood all 2020.
Adam your video make me love dead space again. And I already platinum Dead Space, Dead Space Extraction and Today I platinum Dead Space 2. But it was thanks to your video that I start this journey. Thanks Adam, next stop platinum Dead Space 3 ^^
+CloudX Vita Thank you for the kind words. Congratulations on the platinum trophy!
I’m currently trying to platinum this game. I’m using your video as a guide. Every time I die I come back to this video for inspiration.
I'm honored. If a bumbling buffoon like me can do it, I'm sure you'll be fine :) Let me know how you get on.
Adam McDermott I have finally done it. After one week and many many heartbreaking deaths.
Congratulations! That is one of the hardest trophies on PlayStation. Blast away with the foam finger 'til your hearts content.
Platinumed Dead Space and Dead Space 2 this October. This is the video that inspired me to go for them both. Two of the most rewarding platinums I've earned.
Fantastic games for the month of Halloween. I'm honoured to have inspired you. Congratulations on the platinums.
@@AdamMcDermott Thanks Adam. Your channel has quickly become one of my favorites. Keep up the great work!
@@zultan8212 Cheers!
Ah, yes. The dreaded train section. Exploders everywhere and you get to hang upside down. Tough spot alright.
This is painful to watch - everyone knows that feeling. Great video
Yeah, torturous at times. Thanks. Glad you enjoyed the video.
You replied 😁 thanks. Only found your videos they are savage! Keep up the pain staking work 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
You're a brave person doing this walkthrough.
Haha, cheers!
Dude, liked your videos, you should keep at it.
Thank. I have kept at it and will keep making videos for years to come.
This game looks litty
Amazing. Loved the last part xD
Thank you. Yeah, bit mad at the end, haha.
That last segment against Nicole on that rock is the single reason I haven’t beat dead space 2
I don't blame you. It is really tough.
It’s weirdly wholesome that he called the necromorphs people
Can't forget what they used to be
You only need to beat the game 1 time on casual, then you can beat it on zealot with new game plus.
It is absolutely one of the most stressful gaming challenges. Best of luck to you!
Adam McDermott I got it! Stayed up til midday lol but totally worth it. Getting the finger is such a great reward for it 😄
Congratulations! I'm proud of you.
13:30 my expression in chapter 12 :'(
Ending is so satisfying
Thank you very much.
What would you rate dead space 2 for platinum difficulty Adam on a scale of 1 to 10
@@XxDyneXxFreeEnergyx I'd give it a 9. One of the hardest platinum I've gotten.
Did this on 360 with my last save being right on the machine. Went through the entirety of the Drill ride and Ishimira in one try for the laser room in the government sector to show me who's boss
27:18 was so cathartic 😂😂😂
Kkkkkkkk top mano video zica! Parabéns pela platina
Damn dude nice job. I've died at chapter 6 a few times, planning on making my first save right before the tripod elevator.
Justinsipod3 Cheers. Yeah, it is tough alright. Not a bad idea. Let me know how you get on.
Probably my most proud platinum. Form my hazy memory, I used quite different save points though. I think I saved at 7, end of 11 and at the eye poke machine.
Xbox owners had this one easy, as they got a free save at the start of the second disk!
Those were the days...a game coming on multiple disks. I was so jealous of that extra save.
They fixed that glitch as I found to my demise. Got there with one save at chapter 5 and didn't care about dying after that. When I did die it said please insert disc one. Lots of swearing later and away I went again. That is still my favourite Achievement. Great video Adam
Not a gamer, but I find these triumphs so satisfying.
Thank you very much. Glad to hear you enjoy the series.
just did it
I just subbed. You simply entertained me so you deserve a sub.
Cheers and welcome to the channel :)
awesome video I love dead space 2 I might just have to go back and go for this platinum I've already got most of the trophies already
Love ur videos, I never failed the eye needle until my hardcore mode, I messed it up 3 times lol
Haha, no problem when there isn't any pressure. A nightmare when there is.
